  1. Okay Demon's Souls you son of a bitch. I'm back for round 2. You won't beat me this time.
  2. You can still USE it, but if you want Google Now to come up instead of S-voice when you tap the home button twice than yes, you do have to do all of that. And I'm pretty sure the S4 has it. Anything running Jellybean should have it.
  3. Oh and make sure you set Step 3 to Touchwiz Home inside of Home2 or else it will forget that hitting home once is supposed to take you to the homepage.
  4. You can. Download an app called Home 2 shortcut. Remember to go into the S-voice settings first and disable it on the double tap.
  5. Ryan Gosling won't eat his cereal.
  6. Google Now is the closest thing I've seen. It doesn't do everything Siri does but it can still make calls with voice commands, answer questions, and a few other things.
  7. System Shock 2 is on steam now. Should I play the first game before getting that one?

No, you buy it on GoG instead so you get the most optimized version: https://secure.gog.com/gamecard/system_shock_2

Skip the first one. Maybe read the plot outline on the wiki if you have time. Expect game breaking bugs if you try co-op; my friends and I figured that out the hard way.

Other than DRM, how is the GoG version better?

  8. I'm embarrassed to admit that I only just now figured out how to make a double tap of the home button bring up Google instead of S voice on my galaxy.
  9. Sleeping Dogs. Those last couple of missions were pretty sweet. It only took me three days to beat it but during that time I was playing it a LOT. Like in five hour stretches. I only do that with games I really, really like.
  10. In this case he's referring to a "rumor" they wrote that said "Microsoft is six months behind on developing next-gen content, has canceled several failing projects, and is aggressively pursuing exclusive games." His answer to that was basically "No shit, that's how the entire industry works."
  11. If this was the first time she'd done an article like this I'd dismiss it as merely silly, but she does this ALL THE FUCKING TIME. It's crossing the line into harmful because even fewer people take it seriously the more it happens. A lot of people probably don't even click articles written by her anymore. What if at some point she DOES have something major about prejudice to report? All those people won't even read it because of the reputation she's building for herself with pieces like this.
  12. Even from you I would normally expect better than this kind of argument. Also a single dumb gay joke from a cheesy 80's themed downloadable game is not a "hard issue."
  13. If anything, I'd say that articles like Patricia's, whether they're about sexism, racism, or homophobia, are 99% of the time more harmful in themselves than the things they condemn. Racism, sexism, and homophobia ARE real issues, and they're important issues, and they should definitely be written about. However cheap, sensationalist articles like hers cheapen real societal problems for the sake of page hits, which is not only counter-productive but frankly a bit insulting to boot. If Patricia writes 20 articles of silly bullshit like this, how many people are going to care when a 21st article written by, I dunno, Fahey or whomever, comes up to address an example of sexism or homophobia that IS significant? People are already sick of seeing it all the time on Kotaku. Patricia's articles run the risk of driving people away and rendering them apathetic to things they absolutely should care about.
  14. Oh for fuck's sake. I may be in the minority with this opinion, but I don't think every single gay joke needs a crusade against it. I bothered to read the comments and virtually every self professed gay person who commented did not give a shit about the joke. A lot of them didn't even remember it until Patricia brought it up. And for the small SMALL group that took offense? Well, too bad? I know gay people are fighting for their rights as we speak, but sometimes they need to be able to take a joke like anyone else and just let things go. If you start a big hoopla about every single little jab, people are going to become fatigued by it and not care about the more important issues. Pick your battles.
  15. Sleeping Dogs. I got it free from PS Plus but it's so fun I might actually buy some dlc.
  16. Man, is that an original song? If it is it's really good.
  17. In general I like games which, like inFamous, drop you right into the action from the title screen when you choose new game. No loading screen, no configuration or file select. You just hit start and away you go. Another example is the first God of War. Kratos' face is there, and as soon as you hit start the story begins with "The gods of Olympus have abandoned me." I know it's a minor detail but it's always a pleasant surprise for me when that happens. I can't think of other examples off the top of my head right now, though.
  18. Saying they can disable it implies that it's on by default.
  19. I'm thinking about getting a memory card for my galaxy s3 but I hear that sandisk cards tend to mysteriously die in that phone for some reason. Has anyone here experienced something like this? If so, what's a good alternative?
  20. Why would they want to? It's free publicity.
