  1. Not so much as I'm talking about reddit.
  2. Pc master race circlejerking. Yes, PCs are great. No, nobody cares.
  3. I used to love Jet Force Gemini and Killer Instinct. It would be kinda hard to make them relevant again though, considering all the third person shooters and fighting games on the market now.
  4. Maybe play on prince with a custom setup that gives you some breathing room? Like being separated by islands or something.
  5. No I don't have something that does all in one, but neither was I asking for such a device. You still need a cable box either way so it really isn't "all in one." And like Ethan said, the kinect just makes things more complicated, not less. People watching the reveal on xbox live were having their consoles tweak out on them because of what the guy on TV was saying. That would be a simple fix were the kinect optional, but it's required for the thing to work at all.
  6. They still own Rare, right? Banjo Kazooie. A REAL Banjo Kazooie game, not that Nuts and Bolts shit. Right now that's the only thing I can think of that could be at E3 that would make me want an Xbox One. Edit: I guess a new Conker's Bad Fur Day could maybe work too. Maybe.
  7. Started Metro 2033 (the first one) on my pc. It's pretty decent so far but is it just me or do the gun effects sound kind of cartoony?
  8. You can get Hulu and Netflix on pretty much any internet enabled device now so who cares. And making a console which caters to the top 20% doesn't seem very forward-thinking to me, especially when those people probably already own something cheaper and better that does all that tv nonsense. I just don't get who this is supposed to be for. I don't know many gamers who still watch live tv except for maybe two or three super popular shows like Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, or Breaking Bad. Change of subject, but I've seen a lot of people saying we should withhold judgment on the X1 until we see the games at E3. I feel like that's a canned statement. Yeah, sure, it will be nice to know what the games are, but at this point unless these are the best exclusives ever and they come with a peripheral that gives you a reacharound while you play them, I don't see how they could make up for what we currently know about the console based on Microsoft's absolutely horrendous reveal event. Unless all these awful rumors about Kinect and DRM magically turn out to be not true, and I don't think that will happen based on how evasive and contradictory Microsoft has been, then I just don't see myself wanting one, games be damned. I mean, a recording device in your home that's always listening? Did they not think about how creepy that is?
  9. You know, if cable companies really have that much of a stranglehold on the television business, and it was always impossible for the Xbox One to do any of the things a cable box can do even from the design stage, then why in god's name did they still decide to make this thing into a television box?
  10. I don't normally watch those Gordon Ramsay shows but I had to check out this particular episode and holy shit, it has to be seen to be believed. It's no wonder that it went viral.
  11. I am mostly tepid toward Daenerys but I can definitely understand why people would find her annoying. Personally (again, speaking as someone who hasn't read the books), my favorite female character right now is Brienne. Arya would probably be my runner up.
  12. I certainly still wanted to play my Arcade games, which won't be compatible either.
  13. http://www.polygon.com/2013/5/22/4355984/xbox-one-backward-compatibility-backwards-thinking-don-mattrick Seriously?
  14. Was anyone really fooled by the EA video in the first place?
  15. Apparently the Xbox One is not doing jack shit to cater to indie developers. If anything they only made things worse. Marketplace will no longer have a dedicated section for download only games like XBLA, and they still won't allow indies to self-publish, despite literally every other console doing so.
  16. Let me know how that game is. I'm curious. People keep talking about it, and yet the response is so mixed.
  17. Well surely we can at least agree that as far as enhancing the television experience goes, this thing is a huge letdown. Maybe a la carte channels was too much to hope for, but the box itself does practically nothing that our cable boxes don't already do.
  18. I don't think online validation will be a requirement of the console but I get a feeling like they'll leave the option open to individual publishers. Still sucks but it's not nearly as bad as the Xbox One.
  19. That is the absolute last thing cable companies want. People are already trying to make it happen and they are fighting it tooth and nail. Someone else is going to have to do it.
  20. Everything has netflix. And if they really wanted the Xbox One to be the future of tv entertainment, they needed to do a lot better than this. I think that making deals with the biggest tv channels would have made this box a lot more relevant. Nobody likes cable companies these days, and if Microsoft had signed a deal to have channels like HBO, AMC, Adult Swim, or any of the hugely popular ones provided directly to you through Xbox Live at a small subscription fee per channel, THEN it would truly be the future of television. I might have actually wanted one then just to use for that purpose, since the actual cable box would then become superfluous. I didn't expect Microsoft to provide EVERY tv channel, but I thought they'd at least secure the big ones that everyone cares about and provide them with an a la carte service like Mr. GOH was just talking about. But it doesn't, so this is just a half-assed machine trying to pass itself off as the next big thing. Maybe hoping for that was a little idealistic, but you gotta have a lot of balls to call yourself the future of tv if this is the best you can do.
