Rather than repeat what others have already said I'm going to say Far Cry 3. I've never seen more intense mood whiplash in a game than when the silly rap music and douchey vacation video is suddenly pulled away and it's revealed that you're in a cage while Vaas taunts and threatens you like the unstable lunatic he is. It was dark, unsettling, and brilliant.

This is something I've been thinking about lately. First impressions are important, and the first hour or so of a game can either psych you up or bore you to tears. So out of all the games you've played , which ones had the most memorable intros to you? How you liked the rest of the game is irrelevant. This is just about games that started out strong and got you interested in seeing the rest.

Thanks to my cable being out I had to jump through some serious hoops to set it up but I finally got Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon going. I think this might be my favorite dlc/expansion since Undead Nightmare.

On mobile so I can't embed it too well.

Tomb Raider. Not only is this the first one in the series I could get into, but I'd say it's one of the best games of 2013 so far.

Iron Man 3. I have a question to ask the people who saw it, though.

Recurve bows. Just in general. Even adding a bow to Bejeweled would somehow make it better.

Radio/walkie talkie moments that force you to put away all your weapons and walk at a snail's pace while you talk to whomever. It's annoying and breaks the game's momentum.

My friend came over and while he was here he let me use his cell phone as a mobile broadband access point. I didn't have time to start it up afterwards. We had to leave to make it to see Iron Man.

Dead Island (original). I bought it a while back and never finished it. I'm bored stiff without internet right now so I figured I'd work on the ol backlog. The whole prison section was tedious bullshit and the final boss fight was awful. They obviously didn't rebalance this game for single players. Oh well. Now I can delete it and free up some space on my ever shrinking hard drive.

I can't activate it either way until I get my connection back.

I bought Blood Dragon on steam but I can't play it offline thanks to Uplay. I have no idea when I'll have my cable back up. Man I want to play it so bad.
