Well, the new TF2 mode is out and with it comes the controversial Mann Up mode http://www.teamfortress.com/mvm/faq/ For those of you who don't have time to read that, the short version is that the mode is free, but if you want to get new items from it you have to complete missions, and the only way to do that is to play on special servers that you have to pay 99 cents to get into for each mission you do. Not to sound ungrateful, but I think Valve is making a mistake with this approach. If they want to make some more money off this rare drop mode, fine. What I don't care for, however, is that "99 cents per mission" philosophy. I have no idea how many missions there are and even if it doesn't cost much, I don't like the feeling of plunking down a dollar every time I want to join a server. I would much rather they just charge one flat fee, probably between 10 to 15 dollars, to unlock that mode permanently.

If it cost a little less I might do it but I don't really want to pay 16 bucks every month for something I probably wouldn't even use every month.

For a one-man indie game, it's quite impressive.

Well for starters, my only option around here right now is Redbox and the selection isn't exactly awe-inspiring. Beyond that, I like being able to play games at my own pace. Unless we're talking something that's 5 to 8 hours long, I prefer not to have to rush through something because I'm worried about having to pay late fees.

The Killzone footage did look better than the Call of Duty footage. Whoa, I think I just had an out of body experience by saying that.

I'm starting to enjoy the game more, but I had a few matches with spotty connections tonight. Unlike Brawl, which will just lag, it will have players with bad connections randomly teleport around the arena during the match. If YOUR connection is weak then it will happen to you from time to time. Annoying, but still better than the entire match slowing down in my opinion. I got hit once with Radec's level 3 super, and then for some reason I wasn't allowed to respawn. Every other player could respawn except me, and after the super was over a bunch of buggy Kratos clones showed up in the arena. I wasn't able to participate in the remainder of the match, although I still ended up winning. Yeah, Parappa still needs a buff. His level one doesn't seem to hit anyone on the ground unless you are within kissing distance. My ps3 froze while I was loading a match. This has happened twice now so I"m wagering it's the game's fault. It's fun despite the bugs (which I assume will be fixed), although I do hope the full version has alternate rulesets like Smash Bros' life counters. Oh yeah, for some reason everybody seems to randomly do their winning or losing pose (usually losing) at the end of the match regardless of whether they actually won or lost. It's rather jarring for me to win a match and then see my character looking all sad and disappointed about it.

Are there trailers out for those new vita games?

Lately for big releases I've been getting the console version because they still cost 60 bucks on the PC but you can't sell them back when you're done with them. There are some exceptions (Borderlands 2) but I see no reason that I would want a lot of these other games (Max Payne 3, Fall of Cybertron) in my possession forever.

Hopefully part of it is fixing the damn messenger so it won't constantly d/c
