  1. Is anyone keeping up with this thing going on in Syria right now? Do you think we (The US) should get involved?
  2. http://dailycaller.com/2012/02/03/ron-paul-campaign-denies-white-supremacist-ties-alleged-by-anonymous/ Take that how you will.
  3. We're bound to get some good memes, at least.
  4. I want a remake of FFXII. I never actually finished that one and it's just ugly as hell on an HDTV, even though for a PS2 game it's gorgeous.
  5. When I tried the demo, at one point all the voices stopped working and all the dialogue would automatically skip faster than I could read (and I read really fast). Not exactly a good sign.
  6. The suppression field's main effects are to bring the human birth rate down to zero by prohibiting "certain protein chains important to the process of embryonic development." - The wiki
  7. Alternate plan: Combine Suppression Field
  8. It's pretty much as Johnny just reiterated. It's none of my business. If a poor mother wants to have a baby in a poor environment, well, then that's her prerogative and I hope it works out for her, even if I have my doubts that it will. My point is that all the effort and energy and enthusiasm spent trying to illegalize abortions could be much better spent elsewhere, like reforming foster care. Those kids are inarguably alive and sentient, but they're getting overshadowed by clumps of cells. Almost half of the kids in the system age out of it and end up homeless, but you rarely hear about that, do you?
  9. That's a bullshit argument. And that's an argument I see from a lot of pro-lifers, that their opposition wants to go around on some kind of Jack the Ripper killing spree, twirling our moustaches while we rip fetuses out of wombs like it's Mortal Kombat or something. I'll tell you what I really think. I think what Ugandan women do with their pregnancies is none of my god damn business, especially because they're people who I don't know nor will I EVER know.
  10. I'm not talking about an individual's willingness to adopt. I'm talking about we as a collective people caring so little about giving the foster care system the serious overhaul that it desperately needs. I've heard all sorts of public outrage and demands for legislation about abortion, and comparatively so very little of the same for an issue that, frankly, needs the attention far more. If people want to argue that every zygote has a right to life, they should first demand to improve the life a lot of them would be born into. For so many people to prioritize the former over the latter is insane to me. Hell, many people still see "adoption" as a four letter word. And on the rape issue, I'm just speaking from my own personal belief here, but I find the notion of forcing a rape victim to have a rape child against her will utterly monstrous. I feel as strongly about that as pro-life people do about women having abortions at all.
  11. I find it downright bizarre that so many people care so much about what is basically a non-person (argue sentience all you want, but until the late stages of pregnancies it's not a human) but as soon as the kid is actually born and dumped into the foster care system everyone stops giving a shit.
  12. Do rockets lock onto hawks in robot mode? If so then I must be doing something wrong because I couldn't get it to work.
  13. I'm gonna guess that the enemy AI will act differently in the story mode. The single player demo portion was called "challenge mode", which led me to believe that it specifically makes every car target you. I could be wrong, but I doubt they would suddenly make a game where the cars don't target each other, since they've always done it before.
  14. So who else played the demo that just came out?
  15. I'm gonna guess that's their cute little way of saying that they're not doing shit.
  16. Trying to play The Witcher and am getting blue screens every 15 minutes. This is why I hate PC gaming sometimes.

BSOD is usually bad hardware, though not always.

^ Bad hardware OR bad Windows install, corrupted drivers etc. One would have to see the memory dump to diagnose.

That might have been me, Ethan. Skyrim did it to me too. I have a suspicion it has something to do with the optimus switching on my laptop, but damned if I know how to fix it.

  17. Given that steam has no real competition to begin with, I don't see why they'd need to worry about maintaining an iconic look. That said, skinning the mobile version seems unnecessary. I mean you probably won't have the mobile version up for hours at a time like you do the desktop one and you can already customize the bejeezus out of the device that's running it.
  18. It almost feels like they have given up on these little programs and are just trying to go for the internet's jugular, what with all these bullshit copyright bills and trade agreements floating around. SOPA, PIPA, ACTA, Bill C-11...They just aren't giving up.
  19. Would it be advisable for Resident Evil?
  20. Anyone heard anything about that circle pad? Is it actually decent?
  21. No more than usual, what with it being an Apple product and all.
  22. This is gonna be stuck in my head all day, I just know it.
  23. So Steam is, at the time of this writing, offering a beta for a steam client for the iPhone/iPod touch. Post your thoughts about it here.
