It's certainly the most bizarre E3 presentation I've ever seen.

So, the Microsoft conference. It was okay I guess. I didn't see a whole lot to love in there, but not really anything to hate either. All the good stuff is multiplatform. So it's really not much to write home about, but at least they didn't completely embarrass themselves like EA did. Xbox One X is a stupid fucking name, though. C+

Evil Within? Didn't everyone basically ignore that game? You can get it for next to nothing these days. Why are they making a sequel?

What did they do with Titanfall 2 again? I didn't realize that game even had microtransactions. Given this is EA, though, I guess I should have.

Isn't EA the only option for officially licensed NFL, NBA, and FIFA games? If you're a sports nut, you either play EA games or you go fuck yourself. Need for Speed was just completely generic looking, but that's pretty much every Need for Speed game now. That prison game (A Way Out, I think?) looked interesting, at least. Battlefront II looked better than the last one, but that's really not saying much after the first one was so fucking terrible. I might have misheard but I think they said they were dropping the season pass to go with a more Overwatch inspired model of monetization? If so that's definitely a step in the right direction because season passes are a cancer on the industry. Still, way too much uninteresting filler bullshit. D+

Ghost Recon: Wildlands I dunno, this was pretty underwhelming. I was playing with a friend, so I still had fun, but why do your other two AI squadmates disappear the second someone joins you? Doing all these missions with just two people was a pain in the ass. The mandatory stealth missions were super aggravating too. I still got a bunch of missions I haven't beaten, even after finishing the story, but I don't know that I really even want to. The game was okay. I don't want to give the impression that it's terrible because it's not. It's just unambiguously average.

I just beat that game too. Telltale should really do more games with original characters. It allows them to actually have stakes to the conflict. Playing as Batman or whoever, you know going in that he'll be just fine, but I found myself worried for the Tales cast at several points. It makes for much better drama. Wonder Woman I debated on whether this belonged here or in the OK thread, but it squeaks by into this one because I wasn't bored while watching it. Is it cliched? Totally. It hits all the story beats you would probably expect it to. However, it's still fun to watch. There's some questionable CG in there, but not so much that I couldn't deal with it. I'm still getting used to Gal Gadot's accent, but she was better here than she was in Dawn of Justice so I guess she's starting to feel more comfortable in the role. Either that or she got some better direction. There are some nice actions scenes, though these DC movies still have too much fucking slow-mo for my taste. Despite being Wondy's first film, it also showed some restraint and didn't get obnoxiously political, which is a relief because it would have been so easy for them to just make this two hours of all the men being sexist idiots only to get proven wrong by how awesome Wonder Woman is. The supporting cast feel more like actual people than a bunch of strawmen, which ultimately makes the film stronger. If I were to compare it to Marvel movies in terms of quality, I guess I'd stick it somewhere around the level of the first Iron Man film. I definitely liked it more than either of the Thor films.

Is this seriously how Nintendo expects people to do voice chat on the Switch? It's such a mess that's it's laughable.

When the authorities burst in to arrest Rocket in the middle of a wrestling match, Rocket discovers that an evil lookalike has been going around framing him for multiple murders! Rocket now has to hunt down the imposter and clear his name, but that may be hard to do when a vengeful armada made up of all his jilted ex-girlfriends bands together to hunt him down and exact bloody revenge for all the times he lied to them! Storylines like that are why I originally picked up comics in the first place.

I haven't seen Alien: Covenant, but I did have the alien origin spoiled for me, which is so stupid that it actually fucks up the entire timeline and turns it into a big, jumbled mess that makes no sense. I think it's about time for people to stop hyping up this franchise so much. Only the first two movies were ever any good anyway.

Boy, it is really easy to trigger Trump supporters, isn't it? I skipped over Primal and told myself I was tired of Far Cry but a setting like this might actually make me come back, especially if there's true campaign co-op this time.

If I were to buy a Switch, this would be the bundle I'd want. TOO BAD IT'S NOT AVAILABLE IN THE US!
