  1. I'm really digging this game so far. It's a far cry from Guerilla's past work. Also, this may sound weird but while I've played games where you hunt animals before, this might be the first one that really makes me feel like a hunter, if that makes any sense. On a side note, I like how they handled the whole "climb the radio tower to expose the map" thing you see so often in these open world games. I don't really like that trope in general, but if it's gotta be in there, then this is a clever way to do it.
  2. Maybe I'm overlooking something here, but why do some games insist on capping equipment levels but then going past it anyway by adding some weird, confusing bullcrap to exceed the level cap? Destiny did it with the light levels and Nioh also does it by capping equipment at level 150 but allowing you to get equipment up to level +10. Why do that? Why not just make the cap higher? The higher level equipment can still be rare drops if that's the point of it.
  3. Just saw Logan and it was indeed great. I know this is weird to say about a movie that's full of mutants, but the story was very human. It occurred to me while I was watching it that Fox has successfully managed to do what Warner Brothers has struggled with since Man of Steel: make a dark and gritty comic book movie and do it right. 4. Got the platinum for Nioh. I'm particularly proud of this one because some of these trophies were just brutal. The majority mostly just required dedication, like mastering all the weapon types, but you also have to beat every mission in the game. That doesn't sound so bad, but some of the optional side missions are just completely unfair, including missions where enemies are 100 levels above you and missions where you have to fight multiple of the game's hardest bosses at the same time. Considering that this game is trying to be like Dark Souls, you can probably imagine that this was one absolute motherfucker of a task to accomplish. But I did it. I can finally move on to Horizon now.
  5. Anyone get the PC version of NieR? How's the port?

It's not out until the 17th, so we won't know for sure until then. That being said, Platinum have been improving with each releases, so there's no reason to assume the worst.

I got it but yeah, waiting. It's a game series that both SE (Yoko Taro) and Platinum likes so the port should be fine.

  6. I still have a couple trophies left to get in Nioh, but one of them is based around rotating daily missions and the other involves grinding for money, so I might as well do that in spurts and move on to this. By chance, I also discovered I had some unused eShop credit on my 3DS, so I used it on this.
  7. Probably because they kept saying TEN YEAR PLAN! TEN YEAR PLAN! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
  8. I can't decide if I want to get Horizon or Zelda first...I really want to play Horizon, but I'm also really afraid of having Zelda spoiled for me if I wait too long.

Seeing that Strangelove has already managed to platinum Horizon, I think I can probably get that one first and platinum it before the Zelda spoilers get too widespread.

Zelda is surprisingly easy to spoil, since the experience is about discovery. Basically anything you hear about the game is kind of a spoiler.

  9. For someone who claims to hate fake news so much, he sure does love to generate plenty of his own. I can't believe anyone is even entertaining his claim as legitimate.
  10. Both games look pretty great to me but I hope Zelda doesn't cut into Horizon's sales too much. Fresh new IPs need to succeed.
  11. When you think about it, they really haven't changed a god damn thing about their policy. The whole thing people want is to be able to download their games onto a new console if they have to replace it, and the only reason most people would have to do that is that their old switch got broken, lost, or stolen. Oh, but wait, you have to deactivate the console manually before you download your games onto anything else. How are you gonna do that if it's broken? Guess you'll just have to call Nintendo up and beg them to help you, just like we've always had to do.

  13. I wasn't following this game at all but the reviews seem to be REALLY good so now I can at least say I am intrigued...PS4 does it again!
  14. This is why you shouldn't buy a console at launch. Though I guess I'm a hypocrite since I bought the PS4 on day one, but that's worked out just fine for me so far.
  15. Man, I can't see a difference between 720p and 900p at all. Was I being bullshitted all these years?
  16. Nioh with the true ending. This one was kind of a gamble for me since I still wasn't totally sure I was on board with the "Soulsborne" genre, or whatever you want to call it, but man am I glad I took a chance on it because so far this is my favorite game of 2017. I'm sure this is an unpopular opinion, but I had WAY more fun with this than I did with Bloodborne, and I actually liked Bloodborne. There's just so much more depth to the combat--in fact, this game has one of my favorite combat systems in any game ever. The constant loot dropping a la Diablo also made it really addictive, and while the game was definitely hard, the fights felt more fair to me than some of the ones in Bloodborne did. You're much more agile in this game and can dodge most attacks if you pay attention to enemy tells and use the proper stance. I've got 70% of the trophies already so I'm going to try (keyword: try) to platinum this one. I'm also thinking I'll probably buy the season pass once I hear details on what's actually being added. I've heard rumors of two new weapon types, which would make an already diverse fighting system even better. I got my fingers crossed for nunchuks.

  18. Seriously, it took this long for the Wii U to build up a respectable library. Why would I want to ditch it now and start all over again? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
  19. I already have a Wii U, so I'm just going to get that one. I'm betting most Wii U owners will do the same unless they're hardcore fans who are getting the Switch at launch. I gotta justify that Wii U purchase somehow! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
  20. Thunderjaw? Stormbird? This is sounding like a playable hair metal video. Man, I want this game. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
  21. Good god, I haven't even finished Nioh yet and now there's Zelda, Horizon, possibly Ghost Recon, and then Persona 5 in April. 2017 is already much better than 2016 for games.

It's almost as good as 2015 for me, which is ridic, because that was my fave year

Horizon and Zelda alone are god-tier games

The last few years have been solid for me in terms of game quality. I was almost caught up with my backlog when all of a sudden... D:

  22. I know what you mean. I started it a while back and I think it was the second or third boss that started giving me red flags.
  23. Is it necessary to plug your DS4 in first every time you want to use it wirelessly via bluetooth? I synced my DS4 with my PC and it does recognize it wirelessly, but it only works with steam's native support if I plug it in first and wait until the light turns blue. It's not a huge problem, but it would be nice if I didn't always have to do that. I should note that I always turn it off when I'm done by holding down the PS button for 10 seconds. I don't know if that somehow desyncs it, but the controller doesn't turn off on its own and I don't know how to fix that with the PC.
  24. I kickstarted this game years ago and now it's finally here. I just got my steam code in my email.
