Removing Jontron's contribution to the game in light of the recent controversy is an understandable decision, even if I think it's an unnecessary one, but banning everyone who complained on the steam forums and then going on twitter and mocking people who are upset about the decision is just dumb, dumb, dumb. That sort of childish behavior just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. If they were determined to remove him from the game, they should have just put out their statement and then gone completely silent on the matter until it blew over. There's nothing to gain from intentionally riling people up, and I'm pretty sure this will end up affecting their bottom line. The kickstarters won't get refunds, but they will get to write steam reviews, and they're probably going to nuke the game's rating to Kingdom Come. Not everybody keeps up with gaming news. There are bound to be people who see that the game has a negative rating and decide to pass on it without looking into it. The Steam forum for the game has turned into an absolute clusterfuck, too. All they accomplished by banning people was encourage an army of shitposters to come and take over the entire board.

These robots are adorable. I feel kind of bad for killing them.

They STILL haven't patched the controls or the performance? I was waiting for that to happen before I played it but if they still haven't fixed it by now then fuck it.

Breath of the Wild was pretty good, but at the end of the day Majora's Mask is still my favorite Zelda. I had been wanting that limited edition Skull Kid figure really bad when that 3DS version came out, but we all know how Nintendo is with limited edition items so I never got one. I saw this on sale and I couldn't resist. It was less than ten dollars and yes, the mask comes off to show the Skull Kid's face.

Why does WB hate color?

I'm a few hours into Nier and my god I can't believe how polished this game is. I never played the original, nor was I very interested in it, so I originally had no intention of picking this one up. The overwhelmingly positive reviews ended up changing my mind, and man I'm glad they did because this is probably the best game Platinum has ever made. Keep in mind I'm saying this with only a few hours of gameplay under my belt. They sorely needed this after their last couple of mediocre releases, which I understand were being made by their B-team. Also, I'm really liking that PS4 developers are starting to understand the importance of a 60FPS framerate for action games. Whoever it was who said 30FPS is more cinematic can go jump off a bridge.

Honestly, I prefer the shorter dungeons. Hunting for small keys, compasses, maps, dungeon items, and boss keys over and over got really tedious after a while.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Great game, but would I call it the best in the series? I dunno. The strides it's made in the gameplay department are certainly profound, but on the other hand the story and (most of) the characters were kind of mediocre and forgettable. It's a game that certainly plays great in the moment, but I wonder if I'm going to be remembering it ten years from now the way I still remember Ocarina or Majora's Mask. I guess only time will tell. Ganon was also kind of a letdown. Having him as a force of nature rather than an actual person means he has pretty much zero personality or chemistry with Link and thus only exists as the game's final boss. Still, this was a much needed breath of fresh air in the formula. For a while I had resolved to skip this game completely because I'd gotten tired of the usual Zelda shtick. Obviously, I haven't seen everything there is to see in this game, but I've had my fill for now. Maybe I'll come back to it later to see some of the other side stuff. For now, on to Nier.

Question: Do guardians respawn? Specifically the big ones with the lasers? I found a reliable way to take them out, but it involves using money and resources I'd rather not waste if they're just going to come back anyway.

I would love to get the Master Sword if I had the slightest idea where it was. I second the desire for a weather change device. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

Oy, this animation.

I'm only two dungeons down so far but to be honest I can't remember a single song I've heard in the game so far outside of the remixed classic tunes. The music isn't bad, but it seems quite forgettable. Maybe I just haven't heard the really good tracks yet? My biggest complaint, outside of the technical issues and the rain fucking up my climbing, is the weapon durability thing. I get that the whole point is to keep using new and different weapons, and I do appreciate that, but it just feels like everything breaks way too quickly. Even in real life, I'm pretty sure medieval weapons were crafted to last longer than one or two opponents.

Regarding the lodge, you do get some weapons for completing all the trials, but it's not really anything better than the kinds you can buy. It'll save you some shards if you get all blazing suns, I guess. However, doing the lodge hunting sidequests will get you a weapon you can't get anywhere else, and it's a good one too.

I really wish this game had adjustable graphics settings like Nioh did on the PS4. If I could turn down some of the ambient occlusion or something in exchange for a stable framerate, I would do it in a heartbeat. I mean, it's already a Wii U game. No matter how nice it looks, Horizon still blows it out of the water.

Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice Man, I knew this was my favorite VN series for a reason. I meant to keep this as something to play whenever I couldn't get to Zelda for whatever reason, but I was so invested in these cases that I couldn't put it down. I even ended up downloading the DLC cases. As far as this series goes, this entry might be the best one yet. If not then it's certainly up there with the high points of the franchise.

God, season 5 is blowing me away already and it's only two episodes in.

"Git gud." Fuck off. That is the most obnoxious non-argument in existence to frequently legitimate criticisms of a game's flaws. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk

Other than the framerate, this is my biggest annoyance.

I'm several hours in and I still get drops whenever I'm in a village or whenever the weather is bad. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

This game is pretty great and all but holy shit the framerate is atrocious. I sure hope this is something they can fix with a patch. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

I know graphics aren't everything but good lord, what were those animators doing?

Horizon: Zero Dawn. Got the platinum while I was at it. This was a great game, easily the best Guerilla has made so far. I actually enjoyed the overarching story of the game, even if a lot of the side characters are rather forgettable. Learning the truth behind the apocalypse was satisfying. That said, the story stuff wasn't nearly as compelling as the actual robot hunts. If the game had been nothing more than Aloy: Robot Dinosaur Hunter I think I would have enjoyed it just as much. My only major criticism is that sometimes it can be hard to tell what you can grab and what you can't. White markings on snow covered mountains aren't exactly the best way to convey that information. Still, this is well worth any PS4 owner's time. Now I can move on to Zelda.

They can't dig up through water. At least for the corrupted zone, there's a stream nearby with a small pile of rocks right beside it. If you stick near the rocks, the rockbreakers can't dig under you, and when they start spitting rocks at you you can duck down behind the rock formation to take cover. From there I just took potshots at their claws, then their vents once they were disabled. I also made sure to only pull one at a time. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
