Platinum achieved! Resident Evil 7, I have officially made you my bitch.

Yeah I'm using a YouTube guide just to be completely sure. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk

I used a collectibles guide for that very reason. I already had to do the Mr. Everywhere statues twice because I somehow missed one before. They carry over to new saves for the trophy but I don't know if it counts for unlockables so I ended up getting all 20 all over again just to be safe. Now I'm trying to get all the coins in Madhouse mode (33 vs 18 in the other modes), which means going out of my way to visit dangerous areas I wouldn't visit otherwise. No way am I going to do that twice because I missed some one-time-only coin.

I dunno. I never died, I ran past any non-key items that weren't directly in front of me, I barely touched the item box, I used shortcuts whenever possible, I ran past most enemies, and I killed the bosses really fast. I can't say I did anything else particularly special. I also charted a path so that I went directly from point A to point B with minimal wandering around. I also didn't spend much time getting chased around. I ran right past them for the most part and ate some damage if I had to. I only bothered fighting enemies if they were blocking my path and I couldn't go around them.

I was never really into the Ace Combat series before but knowing that it's going to support PS VR intrigues me.

I think, I THINK the unlockables work like this. This is currently unconfirmed but it's what I infer from my own experience. If you want some speedrun tips, I can give you the following pieces of advice that shaved off a lot of time for me.

Did you try doing the mansion without ever tipping off Jindosh? It's a totally different experience. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk

I was going for the 4 hour thing. As long as you know exactly where to go and you don't backtrack too much, there's a generous amount of room for error. Pausing the game also stops the timer so you can take a moment to get your bearings. There's no difficulty requirement for the trophy so obviously you'll want to do it on easy.

It seems like they really took the risk of motion sickness into consideration with the VR mode. Crouching in the normal gameplay has camera movement, but is instantaneous here. Same goes for when he gets up from the floor after he falls onto his side. There's a wobbly camera transition normally, but in VR mode it just briefly fades to black and then puts him upright. I hope we start getting more AAA games that put this much thought into VR mode. It would make me actually take the VR plunge.

https://chrono.gg/tb Enter the Gungeon for 7 dollars. If you liked Binding of Isaac, it should be right up your alley.

Similar to the Games You've Beat thread, if you got a trophy or achievement you are particularly proud of, feel free to brag about it here. Just beat Resident Evil 7 in 2 hours and 35 minutes, myself.

Resident Evil 7 It took me about ten hours, I think. I don't feel like booting up the PS4 just to check my save file. Anyway, this was a much needed shot in the arm for the series after the disaster that was RE6. In fact, after the last game I told myself I was done with this series, and pretty much the only reason I picked up this one was because it didn't even look like an RE game. I'm glad I did though, because this is one of the best games in the series. I'm sure everyone has their own opinion whether they prefer this, RE4, or RE1, seeing that they're all completely different games, but I can say without hesitation that this game at least deserves to be involved in that discussion. I'm gonna try to platinum this one, but it might be harder than the last four games I did...Speedrunning the game in under 4 hours is gonna be a bitch. I should mention that probably at least two of those ten hours came from me wandering around not knowing what to do. The game gives you vague objectives just to remind you what you're supposed to be doing, but there are no objective markers or hand-holding involved. It tells you to go find X or go do Y and then you're on your own.

What? Capcom have had consistently high quality ports for a while now. At least, from the Japanese side. And if the demo is any indication, RE7 will be no different. Is there a specific one you're thinking of that was poor? The only recent one I can think of is Dead Rising 3, though I have no idea how bad it actually was. RE4, DMC3, and yeah, Dead Rising 3 was another one, though to be fair it seems like they did eventually fix that port for the most part.

Traded Watch Dogs 2 and Dishonored 2 toward this, which ended up costing me 12 dollars. I would normally go for the PC version, but Capcom's pc ports are hit or miss. Also, there is a possibility that someday I might want to play this in VR, and if I get any VR headset I know it's going to be the PS VR headset. Some might scoff at PS VR, pointing out its lower specs compared to the rift and the vive, but what I think those individuals forget is that the rift and vive don't have support from a major first party publisher. I know the vive is Valve's baby, but excluding the little tech demo for the vive, Valve hasn't made anything since 2013. Plus, I can't devote an entire room to the vive.

Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty Never played the original and there's still some time before RE7 comes out. This was already on my PS4 from a previous PS+ month, so I figured what the hell. It's an interesting idea, but the controls are kind of wonky and it's kind of bullshit that so many of the slaves are tucked away in really sneaky, hard to notice areas when you have to save the majority of them to get the good ending. It's alright, though. A little dated, I think, but not bad.

True, but the switch is a lot more portable than the Wii U and it has a built in kickstand. It could make a pretty nice Netflix device. In theory. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

No streaming services at Switch launch because they were "making an amazing dedicated video games platform." Don't ever buy a console at launch, kids.

Human shields count against you if they get killed while you're holding them. I guess they figured it'd be too easy for you to just eliminate a whole crowd that way.

Polished off Day of the Tentacle HD real quick and got the platinum for it, then I finished Watch Dogs 2. Probably going to get the platinum for that too. It was a significant improvement over the original, although when it came to the writing I couldn't really divorce myself from this "how do you do, fellow kids?" vibe that I kept getting from the characters. Meh, I've seen worse writing, but I was very aware that a bunch of suits at Ubisoft were trying to be cool and hip.

I get what you're saying and all, but I'm just gonna say that if the success of the gaming market ever becomes tied to MOBAs and survival games, I'm just going to quit being a gamer right then and there.

I wonder how many smug Republicans out there are going to wake up one morning and find themselves without insurance.
