Yeah, they're pretty much the only way to go. Unfortunately, Jojo only recently started getting decent translations so some of the chapters are still kind of rough around the edges. The best translations are done by Jojo's Colored Adventure, who not only translate it well but, as you can guess by the name, they do a really professional quality coloring job of the original black and white panels that make the action scenes easier to follow. Unfortunately, they haven't completed work on part 5 so you will have to find multiple sources for that one. They have completed translating and coloring parts 6 and 7, though. Part 8 is ongoing so they aren't working on that. Part 8 has a decent translation already, too, though it isn't colored.
