  1. What?! Damnit! I was expecting some kind of warning from Steam... Like "Hey, this just got added to your game library!" Now I see the game's store page says it's available... but this figures. It comes out the minute I stop actively trying to figure out when it comes out... Stupid irony Anyway, thanks for the heads up, man. I'll be downloading it as soon as tonight's episode of The Big Bang Theory finishes downloading Also, turns out those rumors that Telltale are working on a Walking Dead game were true! http://ps3.ign.com/articles/115/1150836p1.html
  2. Holy crap, thanks for posting this, Jack! It somehow completed flew by my radar. Can't wait! Though I wonder why it's more expensive than BTTF. Which brings me to my next question: where the hell is BTTF Episode 2?!?
  3. Good God, did all the smart people leave when the Kotaku redesign launch? http://kotaku.com/#!5763556/theres-more-left-4-dead-coming-to-left-4-dead-2?comment=37105743

I tried reading the comments on Fight Night's uncensored music and rage quit after only 2.

  4. Yeah, you weren't kidding! I was focusing mostly on RDR for the first few days, but I played 3DDGH for a bit the other night and holy crap that game is awesome! I'm hesitant to play it more because I'm afraid I'll burn right through it. I only completed the first temple so far, but the nostalgia was insane. It reminded me how much I loved A Link To The Past back in the days. Darksiders gave me kind of a small Zelda fix a few weeks ago, but this is much more similar. I think I'm gonna have to get a Zelda title for my DS at some point. The last one I played was Wind Waker...
  5. Really looking forward to this. It's definitely on my top 5 most expected PS3 games. Bought the first one at launch and never regretted it. My first run was good and I finished it in only a few days. Then I went and did an evil run right after. Was one of my first Platinum trophy. Think the only one I had prior was Uncharted 1.
  6. I've been using Firefox for at least 5-6 years now. I think I first got it fairly close to its initial release. The main appeal originally was that I was the only one using it on a shared PC, so it meant I had my own start page and bookmarks. I take all that for granted now, but at the time it was so amazing I tried Chrome when it first came out, but I really didn't much care for its interface. Constantly hearing praise for it makes me kinda want to give it another shot, but meh... I'm weird like that. I tend to not really fight change when it's forced on me and I usually have no problem adapting. But if the change is optional, I won't go through it. Probably out of laziness. So yeah, strange mix of being set in my ways while not being too stubborn about it.
  7. Haha, yeah I also do that a lot. Just gave Killzone 3 another shot and after tweaking the settings a little I had a much greater control of where I was looking in general. Plus, I got my Navigation controller today, so that felt a LOT more natural than a one-handed dualshock.
  8. Well, I got my Move Navigation controller today, so I should give the beta another shot later on. That is, if I can manage to turn on my PS3 and not launch Red Dead right away. It's slow to start, but so damn good.
  9. Started playing RDR today. It's good so far but it's so damn slow to start... 2-3 hours in and I'm still doing rancher jobs and only had a few shooting missions. I'm having GTA IV flashbacks...

the ranching stuff are my favorite parts of the game. I recommend going slow. Appreciate the scenery. Walk instead of running. Watch a sunset. See the way that the people in Hennigan's Stead go about their daily lives.

Well, yeah, the rancher jobs are fun and all. And the world looks pretty good at times. But RDR being a western, I'm kinda looking forward to getting into shootouts and duels and whatnot.

      Showmeyomoves!

Despite what people on the internet will have you believe, RDR really is just GTAIV in a Western setting. Not that there's anything wrong with that, though.

  10. So do you guys have any Move games that you would recommend? I'm not ready to start Dead Space: Extraction yet and I'd like something else to play besides Sports Champions. Something that feels like a good fit for the controller, not just something that requires pointing. I tried a few demos but none really stood out as something worth buying (except maybe Tumble. It was fun, but I think it's 15$ and at that price, no thanks). I also looked at the list of Move compatible games on wikipedia, and of the dozen or so that I looked up because they seemed interesting, none seemed to have reviewed particularly well.
  11. Goddamnit. Fuck you, EA. Fuck you so goddamned much.
  12. Eh, none of the instruments were possible to find at launch in Canada either. I had to import them all from Gamestop.com
  13. Well I finished the game about an hour ago. Absolutely loved it. I agree with what Strangelove said about them taking a few pages out of Uncharted 2's book. Some parts just felt very similar. Like Stalkers are fucking assholes, though. And I pretty much used only the plasma cutter all the way through. I grabbed the Pulse Rifle but only used it when I ran out of ammo for the plasma cutter. I just didn't feel the need to get the other weapons. I beat the original DS on Hardcore using only the plasma cutter last summer... Plus, on my first run of the original, I had a pre-order code to unlock the Scorpion Suit, so I never had to purchase the advanced models, which meant I had more than enough cash to buy every single weapon pretty quickly, and ended up not having a single fully upgraded gun by the end of the game. The cash I saved on not buying weapons allowed me to get every suit almost as soon as I found the schematics. Overall it seemed shorter than the first one. Took me a bit under 8 hours to finish it, and I'm pretty sure the original took me a solid 10. Was also a bit disappointed by but that's a very minor complaint.
  14. Dead Space 2. I knew I couldn't be far from the end, so I started playing tonight with the intent of not stopping until I had beaten it. Mission accomplished. I'm still not sure if I liked it better than the first one, but it was still an amazing game. Now I wanna play Extraction, but I also ordered 3D Dot Game Heroes and Red Dead Redemption friday night, so I should be getting them Wednesday at the latest. So, I don't want to start Extraction but not have enough time to finish it before RDR gets here, because I just know I'll have to put that game in the second it gets here. Must... decision... make!
  15. Just catched the ending of Serenity on TV :(... Man, I miss those characters.

Spoiler, the coolest character, Wash, dies.

      Fuck you, writes. That hurts.

  16. No, it doesn't and you can. I played the demo with my dualshock. Though it felt like I wasn't playing the game "right".
  17. Well, my prediction became truth. I just came home and am currently drunk and I just ordered me a Move Navigation controller + Red Dead Redemption. I even added 3D Dot Game Heroes to the order at the last minute. Let's hope I don't regret this in the morning
  18. I didn't expect much from this. I'm no comic book nerd but I really love Bryan Singer's first two movies. The third one was just bad... But, to my surprise, the trailer makes the movie look not bad at all. Whether it'll actually be good remains to be seen.
  19. Oh, hard times, no doubt about it. But with little to no direct competition, I think Harmonix is in the best position possible to get back on their feet. It won't happen overnight and it won't be easy, but if anyone can make it, it's them. Their product is now the only viable option for music game fans (at least for the foreseeable future). It's the only one that will be getting continued support and I think that if they keep making the games, by the time the next iteration of the series comes out, more people will have had time to invest in either the keyboard or the pro instruments, so they'll be more willing to invest in more software. Plus, some people just aren't very informed when it come to the gaming industry. They stayed with Guitar Hero all these years out of brand loyalty or because they didn't know any better. At some point, they'll inevitably have to check out Rock Band if they're still interested in the genre.
  20. It's been too long since the last time I posted in this thread! Think it was during the Steam holiday sale. This time it was a little bit more expensive. Well, I guess technically I bought Dead Space: Ignition over PSN like two weeks ago. But I don't think that even qualifies as a game. At least not as a good one. Though it did get me a sweet Hacker suit that I have used in my first purchase: And included with this was a nice free copy of Dead Space: Extraction, which brings me to my second purchase: Next up: Because holding a dualshock in my left hand when playing Killzone 3 feels awkward as shit. I haven't technically bought it yet, but I'll probably be ordering it off Amazon.ca before I go to bed. And while I'm on Amazon, I'm very tempted to also grab this: The only reason I haven't ordered yet is I haven't quite managed to convince myself to spend another chunk of cash on games again so quickly... DS2 and the Move bundle almost cost me 200 bucks! But hey, I'm getting drunk tomorrow night, so if I haven't ordered it by then, I'll probably drunk order it when I come home wasted Booze. Is there any problem is doesn't solve?
  21. Problem is, gaming with multiple Move controllers is pretty damn expensive. Just thinking about a 4-player Move-only game makes me shudder. As it is now I'm not even sure if Sports Champions supports multiple players using the same controller like the Wii does.
  22. Yeah, I think The Fight uses two, but that game just looks awful. Plus, another 50 bucks is a bit steep after spending 100$ on the whole bundle + 30$ on the Navi, which I think I'll be ordering from Amazon tonight (along with RDR, I think!). I was mostly asking for future reference.
  23. Oh and forgot to ask: did any of you get a second Move controller? If so, did you feel it was worth it? I'm not planning on getting a second one any time soon, but I might look into it down the line if it seems to be worth the investment.
  24. I bought one yesterday. I had wanted one since launch but wasn't really in a hurry to get one. But I was buying Dead Space 2 yesterday and felt that I needed one to properly experience Dead Space: Extraction. So far I've tried a few of the Sports Champions games, Killzone 3 and some demos. Killzone 3 is pretty cool. It gives an edge in aiming but I'm having troubles turning efficiently. That will take some getting used to. Sports Champions: I am loving the hell out of the ping pong game. Makes me wish for a full-blown ping pong game on par with regular sports game (i.e. not a minigame). Other than that I tried the demos for Eyepet and The Shoot. The Shoot was fun, but I definitely wouldn't pay 40 bucks for it. $20 tops, so I'll keep an eye out for a price drop. Eyepet was... the most retarded and pointless thing I've ever experienced. It was nice getting to try an augmented reality title, but I am definitely not in the target audience here. Also, at first I felt a bit like a sucker for wanting a navigation controller, but after playing Killzone 3, the one-handed dualshock thing really doesn't work for me. Glad to see I'm not the only one who feels that way. Also, that huge gun thing accessory that was on Kotaku looks sweet. No way I'd pay 40 bucks for it, but I still want one.
