I don't and I wouldn't. I'm paranoid about my Steam account's security (and rightly so, I think, considering the amount of cash I've sunk in it) and I simply don't trust other people to be as careful as I am about it. I wouldn't even log on to my Steam account on a PC I'm unfamiliar with (for example, a relative's or a less tech savvy friend's). Hell, I know my mother's PC pretty well and usually am the one who has to fix it and such, and I wouldn't even log on to my Steam account on it. But that's mostly because I don't trust her judgement when it comes to the internet and e-mail. Just thinking about that time she got the "you won Bill Gates' private lottery!!111" email gives me a headache ... She did come to me about it and asked me to check it out, but when I told her it was bullshit, she almost got angry and suddenly was very dismissive of what I was telling her...

F.E.A.R. 2: Reborn DLC I played through F.E.A.R. 2 back in november and thought it was decent, but even though I'm a fan of DLC that extends the single-player experience ( as opposed to map packs for multi ), I didn't feel like paying 10 bucks for it. Anyway, I grabbed it on the cheap during the holidays sale on Steam and kinda forgot about it until yesterday. With F.E.A.R. 3 coming out in a few weeks, I figured it was time to play it. So before going to bed last night I reinstalled F.E.A.R. 2 on Steam with the intent of playing Reborn. I enjoyed it (and found it did some things better than the full game did) but holy shit am I glad I didn't pay 10 bucks for it! I would've been seriously pissed off. I started playing literally like an hour ago. I completed the thing in a single sitting and not even a long one at that.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City
toxicitizen replied to CorgiShinobi's topic in Multi-Platform Games
Yeah, I guess a hybrid could work. What bothers me most about the Plaguas is how they just don't look or feel like "proper" undead zombies. They just look like crazy people and frankly don't make for a very scary atmosphere. And the bosses in RE5 all looked the same huge fucking blob of shit. That seriously sucked. I miss the days when the series would pit you against stuff like these guys Even Nemesis was better than fighting this thing for the third time .... -
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City
toxicitizen replied to CorgiShinobi's topic in Multi-Platform Games
As much as I'm intrigued by this, I kinda wish they'd just make a proper Resident Evil 6. No silly reboots either. Just keep the gameplay like 4 and 5. Only make it more like 4 and less like 5. Actually scary and none of that co-op nonsense. Hell, I'd even say forget that Las Plaguas stuff and go back to good old G/T-Virus, regular zombies and Tyrants. The best part of Resident Evil 5 was when you go through the lab and there's a ton of lickers crawling around. That was the only part that actually felt like a Resident Evil game. -
Well, had 20mins to kill before heading to class, so I figured I'd catch up on this thread. I go through all the pages looking for all the days I missed and realize I'm a whole week behind! So, yeah, gonna have to wait until after I get back. There's a few I'll have to think about.

Yeah, it seems to be pretty common practice for devs to model a character after a member of their team. A few years ago, a friend of mine went to a school that specializes in video games related stuff like 3D and graphics design and whatnot, and one of his teachers, a guy who had previously worked at Ubisoft, was a dead ringer for Sam Fisher.

Yeah, same here. I don't think I've ever repped any posts because I always forget the option is even there.

A spoiler tag button? Just write the code yourself [ spoiler ] your spoiler here [ /spoiler ] without the spaces inside the [ ] edit: eh, replied first and then I saw you already put the tag up
-
I'd put that in a spoiler tag, man... If I hadn't already read that somewhere else, I'd be pretty pissed off. A warning a single line above is really not enough. But yeah, I agree that it kinda sucks. I just started the game, played for about an hour and a half and so far it's okay, I guess. Also, so far it doesn't seem to really address the first game's cliffhanger, and that really sucks. I guess something could still happen, but considering the spoiler you posted, I don't think that's too likely... What is it with devs lately and making sequels that pretty much give the shaft to fans of the original ? Oh, and I guess it wouldn't be a Crysis game if it didn't run my GPU's temp into the 90s

Finished the story of Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice earlier tonight. But while I technically "beat" it, I'm nowhere near done with it. I still have a ton of post-game content to unlock and literally thousands of levels to grind. Plus, playing the story itself unlocked zero trophies, so I have quite a few left to earn.

Ha, a delay at this point is kind of hilarious. But yeah, I'm not entirely convinced this isn't a PR stunt either. Oh and what's that no oceans thing you guys are talking about?

Frisky Dingo was absolutely brilliant and I'm still sad it got cancelled. Archer is almost as good, though. I've been holding off on watching Season 2 episodes so that I can watch them all without interruption once the season will be over.

Well I don't know about not buying it. It's still early to tell and the design team seems to be doing a lot of things right. It just sucks that the PC version seems to be little more than an afterthought. I sure as shit ain't buying it for my PS3. It just wouldn't feel right.
-
So basically the PC version is being handled by some no-name shit dev? That's nice... Also, Snowblind was supposed to be a Deus Ex game? I remember being intrigued by it back when I had a shit PC and could only run games released prior to 2004. Couldn't run it back then and I sorta skipped over it once I upgraded. I remember it looked okay for a relatively unknown game. It's 10 bucks on Steam, might look into it.
-
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man!
-
Might want to put that in spoiler tags there, buddy. Yeah, I was planning on watching that... THANKS!

Big Lebowski is brilliant, Dean I can't imagine how anyone could possibly not enjoy the hell out of it. Anyway, I recently got around to watching Tron: Legacy Didn't have huge expectations seeing as I had watched the original only a few years ago and found it kinda boring. But I actually enjoyed it a lot. I kinda regret not seeing it in theaters/3D. And now I can't stop listening to the movie's soundtrack. Daft Punk really did an awesome job scoring it.

Funny you should say that. I ran into an old friend of mine on my way back from class this afternoon. We started talking and turns out he has like three friends currently working at Eidos Montreal, which is where Human Revolution is being developed. All three of them are testers, but still. Now I feel like I should've asked about it

Alright, gonna try to catch up in a single post! Day 03: The only titles that come to mind would be stuff like Darksiders or Valkyria Chronicles. But I'm really not sure they're actually underrated. Maybe just not hugely succesful at retail. Day 04: I don't know, really. I can't think of a single game I'm ashamed to play so I'm going to stretch this a bit and say Rock Band. Simply because I sometimes feel like such a sucker for buying so much DLC for it. Plus I haven't used that keyboard all that much in the months since the game came out. Day 05: I guess Nathan Drake. He's handsome, funny, strangely sociopathic and is basically Nathan Fillion. Day 06: At first I didn't know but then I thought about it a bit and I couldn't believe I forgot all about motherfucking ZEKE The so-called "friend" character from inFamous. Holy shit that guy has got to die in the sequel. Doesn't even have to be elaborate or complicated! Have slip off the roof and break his damn neck or something!
-
Yeah, pretty much. It doesn't really bother me that much, though. Even Half-Life 2 does that. Also, I mispronounced the title as "Deuce Ex" for the longest time A friend of mine actually still says it like that. As for the meaning, I've always assumed it was meant to be "From God". But really, who knows. Warren Spector, maybe? edit: actually, now that I think about it, "God from the" kinda makes sense on its own. (You might not want to read this next part Dean )

Hahaha, I was coming to post this very video but you beat me to it. Yet another example of them seemingly doing it right. I hadn't really noticed the glow until you mentioned it. What immediately stood out for me was when the view leaves the first-person. I'll probably get used to it, but I"m afraid it might break my immersion a bit. I understand that it's practical and the cover system, while not entirely necessary, will probably be very useful. But I don't really see the point of switching view when using ladders. :/

Holy shit! Disgaea 3 just ate my saturday evening without me even realizing it! Started playing around 6 and before I knew it, it was midnight O_O How the hell can six hours just disappear into thin air like that?!

That's exactly what I said when the game was first revealed months ago That being said, I actually loved the demo a lot. I've already played through it half a dozen times and I don't think I'll be deleting it any time soon. There's a strong chance I might buy the game when it comes out. I love stuff like Street Fighter and MvC as much as the next guy, but as a kid I was all about Mortal Kombat. There was this bowling place right behind where I lived and they had arcade machines for MK 1 and 2 set up. I sucked and the damn thing would eat all my quarters in mere minutes, but I loved every second of it! I lost interest in the series when they started going 3D and seemed to only care about adding a fuckton of minigames. But I really dig how this one is going back to the basics. If the nostalgia doesn't wear off before the game comes out, they just might get my money.
