  1. NELIPOT The group pic is a dinosaur.
  2. I only got the one from joining the group, but I own most of the games from the Potato pack. But still, Valve are such magnificent master trolls... They had so many people absolutely convinced that the game would come out this morning At this point I'm pretty sure any talk of early release is absolute bullshit. How much do you want to bet that they'll just happen to reach the correct amount of potatoes on the morning of the 19th? Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to the Steam forums to see how enraged and butthurt everyone is.
  3. 1h10mins. That is both the time left on Valve's Aperture Science countdown AND the amount of time I have left before I have to leave for an exam.. If Portal 2 really does come out when that thing reaches zero... I'd still be able to play it tonight, so I can't really complain, but my three hours exam will feel much longer than it normally would :(

Leave five minutes before so you don't have to find out.

I ended up waiting for the countdown to end, and seeing that Valve were just trolling was pretty damn funny. If I had left earlier, I would've rushed through my exam to get back home and find nothing but disappointment lol

  4. Hahaha, damn. I don't know why it took me so long to recognize him, but I was looking at some screenshots just now and I realized that the main character is the guy who plays Ken Cosgrove in Mad Men. That explains why Cole Phelps always looked kinda familiar.
  5. Yesterday Enjoyed the demo so I gave it a shot Today Since I enjoyed Toki Tori, I gave the dev's other game a shot Also I've been waiting for a while for the DLC to get down to a reasonable price. So now I cam finally go continue the second run I stopped last summer when my sniper reached the level cap!
  6. Well, the last part is basically it. But it's not that I'm overly concerned so much as that I know they're not exactly the most savvy users when it comes to basic security and you know what they say about better safe than sorry. And I said myself that I was paranoid about my Steam account's security. Besides, it's not like I ever had any reason to log on Steam on any PC other than my desktop or my laptop anyway. Though I guess that now with Steam Guard and all such insane precautions might be overdoing it.
  7. BulletStorm. I was about halfway through the campaign when I stopped playing a little over a month ago. Finished the second half in 4 hours sitting just now. It was a very enjoyable game. I loved how the gameplay forced you to kill somewhat creatively. And some of the lines in the game were just mind-blowing by how retarded they were Most creative use of profanity I've seen in a long, long time.
  8. Oh, I see. Thanks. In that case I'll have to get the PS2 games first. I'd rather experience the narrative in the proper order. Hopefully they won't look too horrible on my HD screen.
  9. I've been really intrigued by this series for a while now but never got around to getting the PS2 games. Whenever I thought about it, I couldn't find a copy at a decent price on ebay. Anyway, I was wondering, would I miss out on anything if I were to play this one without having played the first two?
  10. Homefront. Finished it just now. Wasn't anything exceptional, but it was nowhere near as bad as reviews made it out to be, either. If you still play the yearly COD releases, then you should definitely enjoy it. I know I had some fun with it. That being said, it's insanely short (when I started playing about 2 hours ago, I was literally halfway through the game) and the "ending' is just fucking terrible. The final level itself was actually pretty cool overall, but it just ends too abruptly. I wouldn't even call it an ending, and if that was supposed to be a cliffhanger, they really didn't pull it off.
  11. Yeah, of course. This still can't compare with actual current-gen stuff. But it still looks much better than if I just ran the PC version and cranked up the resolution.
  12. Some screenshots from the upcoming Splinter Cell HD Trilogy http://playfront.de/neue-bilder-zu-splinter-cell-hd/ I have to say, this look pretty damn good to me So much for the argument that you can simply up the resolution on PC and get the same visuals. That looks like much more than a mere resolution increase to me. And having replayed the original SC on PC last summer, I can confirm that it doesn't even support 1920x1080 (unless you like stretching). Highest I could get without stretching was something like 1200x800 with a weird aspect ratio that pillarboxed the picture on my 16:9 monitor. Also, because of some old tech that's no longer supported by current nVidia drivers, some lights can't be displayed. I remember in the last level you're supposed to avoid a spotlight in some courtyard and it just wasn't there. Took me a while to realize why I kept triggering the alarm. Had to do some tweaking to at least get the game to tell me where the light was pointing but it was kinda frustrating to see such an important feature of the game be broken like that.
  13. Yeah, I know. Those are all games I've already started playing. I have close to 10 hours in JC2 and I'm more than halfway through New Vegas. Doom 3, though... it's 20 hours long? Wow... I'm not sure I feel like playing it for that long. I didn't want to install the flashlight mod because it felt like cheating, but if it's that long, fuck it. I'm not spending 20 hours switching between gun and flashlight constantly! Ha, not a bad idea.
  14. No, you see, those are the games I'm focusing on at the moment. I also have over 200 games and go crazy during holiday sales. I picked about 200$ worth of stuff in the last one, and I have games from the previous one I still haven't touched.
  15. I had been intrigued by Green Lantern for a while now. And with the movie coming out soon (and looking awesome), last night I decided to start reading the comics. So far it's pretty damn good!

Where did you start? The newer stuff by Geoff Johns is just incredible. GL is one of the few consistently excellent comics out there today.

Well I did some research and it seemed pretty unanimous that Rebirth was the best point to jump on. So I started there and am now reading the current series (v4). Though I'm torrenting a huge pack, so I'll probably go back and read some of the older stories eventually.

  16. My Steam backlog is way too large for me to even think about tackling it all at once. The sheer amount of games is just too discouraging. Such an endeavor would be doomed to fail. So what I do is I focus on only a handful of games at a time and just pretend the rest of the list doesn't exist Right now, my list consists mostly of games I've left unfinished. Doom 3 Deus Ex: Invisible War Fallout: New Vegas Just Cause 2 Red Faction: Guerilla There's also Tropico 3. I played it pretty much non-stop for about 2 weeks when I got it last summer but then stopped about halfway through the campaign. I grabbed the expansion during the holiday sale and have been meaning to get back into it ever since, but just can't seem to bring myself to actually play the damn game.
  17. Actually, I seem to recall people voicing the same complaint against the book. I haven't seen the movie yet but in the book the camping parts sorta brought the pacing to a halt.
  18. After reading about it (I think) in this thread, I sat down with a friend last night to watch The Troll Hunter. It's pretty damn good if you're into found footage movies.
  19. Hahaha, nice. Maybe it's from Battlefield 3 then? Though it did show up when I image.google'd "bad company 2 multi", so who knows.
  20. Help! Now that the First Strike map pack is out on Steam, I'm actually tempted to get it! On the one hand, at *only* 15 bucks, it will likely breathe new life into a game I haven't touched in in over two months. On the other hand, it's a freaking 15 dollars map pack from Activision! Someone, quick, talk me out of it!

You should get it. It's a pretty awesome map pack, and I've been loving it on the 360. The new zombies map is also pretty great.

Play a better game. There's always other options.

I bought Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time new for $15. A COMPLETELY NEW GAME as opposed to a measly map pack.

Don't succumb to the dark side. :(

  21. I'm probably alone in this, but what made me laugh the most was that the PC screenshot was labeled "Half-Life" when it's clearly from Deus Ex The "hardcore counts" got a chuckle out of me as well.
  22. I don't and I wouldn't. I'm paranoid about my Steam account's security (and rightly so, I think, considering the amount of cash I've sunk in it) and I simply don't trust other people to be as careful as I am about it. I wouldn't even log on to my Steam account on a PC I'm unfamiliar with (for example, a relative's or a less tech savvy friend's). Hell, I know my mother's PC pretty well and usually am the one who has to fix it and such, and I wouldn't even log on to my Steam account on it. But that's mostly because I don't trust her judgement when it comes to the internet and e-mail. Just thinking about that time she got the "you won Bill Gates' private lottery!!111" email gives me a headache ... She did come to me about it and asked me to check it out, but when I told her it was bullshit, she almost got angry and suddenly was very dismissive of what I was telling her...
  23. F.E.A.R. 2: Reborn DLC I played through F.E.A.R. 2 back in november and thought it was decent, but even though I'm a fan of DLC that extends the single-player experience ( as opposed to map packs for multi ), I didn't feel like paying 10 bucks for it. Anyway, I grabbed it on the cheap during the holidays sale on Steam and kinda forgot about it until yesterday. With F.E.A.R. 3 coming out in a few weeks, I figured it was time to play it. So before going to bed last night I reinstalled F.E.A.R. 2 on Steam with the intent of playing Reborn. I enjoyed it (and found it did some things better than the full game did) but holy shit am I glad I didn't pay 10 bucks for it! I would've been seriously pissed off. I started playing literally like an hour ago. I completed the thing in a single sitting and not even a long one at that.
  24. I can't imagine the powedered sugar fries to be anything but disgusting!
