Yeah same with me. I wake up to find like 3 new pages. And when I'm done reading them, I find the thread to be completely inactive and it's a game I don't recognize
-
Hahaha I've bought most of what I wanted, and that was significantly less than last year, so I guess it's an improvement. Always kinda crazy to see all the prices go back to normal after a big sale and take a second look at what you bought
-
Well he says himself in the review that he doesn't even like Telltale's games in general to begin with... which basically invalidates his whole review imo. But anyway, I've long ago stopped expecting any kind of professionalism or competence from Kotaku, so meh.

Oh, yeah, that looks about right. That looks different from other screens of Killer 7 I've seen.
-
If you guys start playing and I'm not around, feel free to add me on Steam and shoot me a message. I'm in the Steam ID thread.

Doesn't Killer 7 have a very unique cell-shaded type visual style that looks, well.. not like that?

Still playing Fallout: New Vegas. Got it during the first week of the Steam holiday sale. I'm really loving the hell out of it. I played Fallout 3 when it came out, but I kinda rushed the main quest and I've regretted it ever since. I downloaded F3 a few times to try and play it again but I could never really get back into it and would always stop after an hour or two. So I was surprised by how quickly I really got into NV. I'm really taking my time with this one. Been playing for over a week now and I've got around 23 hours of playtime so far and I've only set foot on The Strip for the first time this afternoon

hahaha seems like it I only wised up to it after your first post, but then seeing everyone else argue seriously was too amusing for me to intervene
-
It isn't. Discuss.

MotorStorm?

I bought it a while back ( think it was during last year's holiday sale, but it might've been before that) and I only played a few times. I'd definitely be up for playing with some of you guys sometimes.

Yeah I wanted to mention Halo along with Killzone, but I only ever played the first one so I didn't know if the more recent titles still worked with the same health system.

It doesn't really bother me or break my immersion regardless of the game, but that's mostly because I look at it a bit differently. I don't see it as me regenerating myself. More like, if I die, that's because I took one in the head or some other vital area. But if I can go to cover and recover, then it just hit my flak vest or helmet or whatever. Still hurts like a bitch and knocks the wind out of you, but it's hardly fatal. I always hated it in older games when I was almost out of health and had to waste time looking around for health packs. It really breaks the flow of the action. Especially when there aren't any left because you already picked them all up. Though I think the best solution is a mix of both. It's been a while since I played so I could be remembering the details wrong, but I remember Killzone 2 had a system I liked. Think it was something like the health bar was divided up in blocks, and if you didn't lose the whole block, it regen'd after a bit. But to heal lost blocks you needed a health pack.

Actually, it means "Weakness of the senses" Failure of the senses would be "Échec des sens"

Hahaha yeah Demon's Souls is brutal on the trophies. I've bought it at launch, spent about a week getting my ass kicked by it (beat the first boss, the giant knight and that armored spider thing), which gave me like 3 trophies total. Then Uncharted 2 came out and I just stopped playing. I've wanedt to get back into it for a while now, especially before the servers go offline, but it's such a demoralizing game I can never bring myself to put it in the damn PS3 I have the Dead Space "Don't Get Cocky, Kid" trophy. Didn't think it was THAT bad. Only took me about 30 tries I'm not sure I have a trophy I'm proudest of, though. I platinum'd a few games that required playthroughs on the hardest difficulties, but they usually ended up being much easier than I anticipated. I guess Resident Evil 5 had a few frustrating spots on Professional. Heavy Rain was pretty damn long to get the "see all endings" one, but it was easy as fuck.

Damn you, Steam! Damn you! Was really not planning on getting this. I absolutely loved the first game but heard this one was merely okay and no more. But it was 75% off... couldn't pass it up for 12.50$ Been hoping for the pack for Season 1 and 2 to get a daily deal since the sale began but it didn't and tomorrow will very likely be an encore of the biggest sellers, so I went for it.

The best is VI imo. Best cast of characters and most memorable moments. That first time Castle Figaro dives underground. Locke's stealth mission in South Figaro. Kefka poisoning the waters of Doma. The party being split up and you picking whose part of the story you want to play first. The Phantom Forest and the ghost train. And the apocalypse in the middle of the game that changes the world map and turns the game into a more open-world affair. Plus, unlike many people, when I think "great video game villain" or even just "final fantasy villain", Kefka is the one that immediately comes to mind. Not Sephiroth. I love VII and VIII. IV even though I never finished it. X was pretty great and so was XII. I even got a decent amount of enjoyment out of the mess that was XIII. And the original is a classic in every sense of the word. But VI is the one that stuck with me the most.

Yeah that first gunfight can be a bitch. That's the thing that always bugged me with in game. How easy it is to die. It feels more like a survival game than a shooter on that aspect, yet you get into huge gunfights all the freaking time I really liked the game but I never finished it. Think I must've started over three times so far. I keep hearing people saying how great it gets later on or how fucking scary it is when you reach Lab X something or whatever, but I never got that far. I played Metro 2033 recently though, and while Metro is a more standard game that follows a linear, scripted narrative, both games have a similar setting and it kinda made me want to give Shadow of Chernobyl another shot soon.

Sequels you want to see! Also what they would fix!

Well yeah, but most of the time, if it says it ends on Jan 2, it means Jan 1st is the last set of deals and they will end on the morning of Jan 2. It doesn't always happen like that, but if often does. Lots of people always complain about it on the Steam forums

This should be my last big round of purchases. Didn't want the full bundle, but for 2,50$ this is a steal. Own a PS2 copy but I never played the prettier "next-gen" version. Not sure what to expect. Had my eye on it when the remake was first announced, but never got around to playing it. We'll see... Been wanting this ever since trying the demo last summer. Except for the Sam & Max games, this was pretty much the last item on my shopping list for the sale. Bought this for Call of Pripyat since I already own SOC. Wasn't really in a hurry to get Call of Pripyat seeing as I never finished the original Shadow of Chernobyl (started it many times, never finished it...). But 5 bucks is as cheap as it's ever gonna get, so I figured I might as well just put it on the backlog. I'm not entirely sure if there will be new deals tomorrow on Steam or if it will be an encore sale and then it's over. But at this point the only things that would make me spend more would be deals on either the old Fallout games or the first two seasons of Sam & Max. Though chances are I'll get the Sam & Max Complete pack anyway even if there's no further discount on it. 30 bucks isn't a bad deal for two complete seasons and I just finished Tales of Monkey Island, so I'll really need something to scratch my Telltale itch until BTTF Episode 2 comes out.

I'm pretty sure it's because Clear Sky has a different publisher than SOC and COP. Same reason why there isn't a full S.T.A.L.K.E.R. bundle. Same boat as you though, grabbed the pack for COP even though I already own SOC.
