  1. I was about to pull the trigger on a Mario 3D Land + Link Between Worlds order but decided to browse a little longer. Came across this for 60 bucks and I just had to go for it instead. It was a bit pricy for a 3DS game but I'm pretty sure the last time I checked it was something like 90 bucks on the Amazon marketplace and I really wanted to avoid getting it through the eshop if at all possible, so I couldn't pass it up. But man, some of these older games are hard as fuck to find at reasonable prices. Even Etrian Odyssey Untold, which is only like 3 years old, is around 70 bucks now. I have a feeling I'll eventually have to shell out quite a bit if I really want Dragon Quest VI and IX. I should probably grab DQV while it's only 40 bucks...
  2. Meh, even for 400$ I would't go for it. After the Move and the Vita, I don't trust Sony with niche peripherals/hardware anymore, especially not when they're this expensive. It's not going to sell and they're going to drop first-party support before you know it.
  3. Okay what the shit is going on? First, when I click to quote Ethan the quoting markup shows up twice in the reply box. Then when I remove the extra one and post my reply, my reply shows up INSIDE the quote box? Anyway, yeah, I totally missed your post about the price.
  4. Probably like $800 CAD because why not?
  5. I love me some Hitman, so this was a no-brainer. I'm not a fan of the business model, though, so I just got the intro pack to give the game a shot. So far it seems to be a solid return to form so I'll definitely get the rest of it, just not right away. Probably once a few more episodes are out and I can get a decent discount on the upgrade pack. New game from the Risk of Rain devs just came out. Been on my radar ever since the announcement. It's some kind of Gunpoint-esque stealth action game and I am all over that.
  6. Keep in mind, the cutoff for automatic refunds is 2 hours, so you're gonna want to decide pretty quickly. 2 hours can disappear pretty fast when playing Souls.
  7. I haven't refunded anything myself but I'm pretty sure it goes back to whatever payment method you used. At least, that's what it says here. http://store.steampowered.com/steam_refunds/
  8. Impossible to say for sure until closer to launch (if people get pre-release access to the PC version) or after launch. The initial release of Dark Souls II was fairly well optimized, though. Haven't played Scholar yet but I don't recall hearing anything about performance issues on PC. The min specs for Dark Souls III seem to be on the low side, so I'd say that looks promising, at least. Also, if you're planning on getting it through Steam then you could always just refund it if the performance isn't good enough for you. Nothing to lose, really, so you might as well give it a shot.
  9. I expect some fan thing not worth getting excited about, that will likely get C&D'd the very second they announce anything.
  10. Trails in the Sky The 3rd coming west in 2017!!!! FUCK YES!!!

I really wish Cold Steel was on PC. Sure I could get it for the PS3 but at this point, I don't like to turn it on.

I still haven't played my Vita copy. :( Gotta finish Persona Q first and I also bought SMT IV. Got too many JRPGs to play...

I think a port is possible further down the line, especially if we end up getting Zero and Ao after 3rd. And if we do get them, that means XSEED might potentially also get their hands on the PC ports of Ys Seven and Celceta since they were all ported by the same company. That would be pretty good.

  11. I swear to God, XSEED, you better not be trolling with this shit!! https://twitter.com/XSEEDGames/status/708110200037769216

I think so but the first one can feel a bit slow for some people. Here's a more in-depth recommendation I wrote a few months ago.

Also, it looks like FC and SC are currently on sale everywhere. Now's your chance to check out the PSP versions for cheap!

  12. Honestly, that wasn't anywhere near as big a deal as people are making it out to be. I mean, tying any game logic to framerate is dumb and bad, obviously. But when I played Dark Souls II at launch, at first I didn't even realize it was a bug, I just figured they had nerfed durability. So, I upgraded myself a backup weapon to carry around with me. I had my main mace and would switch to my backup longsword whenever the mace was close to breaking. It forced me to switch up my playstyle a bit and made for some interesting variety in the combat. As far as I'm concerned, it actually added to the experience. And it's not like it actually happened all that often anyway. Bonfires are rarely very far apart and resting at one resets the durability of any weapon that isn't broken. Anyway, speaking of Dark Souls II, I should probably get around to playing Scholar of the First Sin soon. Only a month left until Dark Souls III! Also, it probably wouldn't hurt to get some Souls practice with the Steam controller while I'm at it. It was fine for a mindless action game like Dragon Quest Heroes but in Souls there is no room for error. Better be 100% comfortable with it before jumping into III.
  13. This is how you get put on a watch list.
  14. When I say a dollar, obviously I mean a Canadian dollar. Its relative value to the American dollar is completely irrelevant to me unless I'm buying something in US currency, like on eBay or GMG or whatever. So in that sense, yeah, a dollar is still very much a dollar to me. I don't get less/more of it or pay less/more for things here based on its fluctuations. And the UK £ comparison doesn't really work because, as far as I'm aware, those prices were never exactly matched. Whereas, not that long ago I was paying $60 for my games the same as you. That's the main issue here, that's what makes it feel like we're getting screwed over.
  15. So? I'm aware of that but to me a dollar is still a dollar. I don't give a shit how strong or weak it is globally, I'm not getting more of them because of it. If they're willing to charge a fraction of the price to move copies in regions like Russia and South America, then they should be fine charging local currency here without jacking up the price. Besides, you just know if our dollar recovers they won't be anywhere near as quick to lower the price as they were in raising it. As a result, now I have no qualms whatsoever about abusing regional pricing. I used to feel bad about buying from places like Nuuvem but now fuck you, if I can get your game for half the price from them then I fucking will. If they're going to be greedy then I'm not gonna feel bad about being cheap.
  16. Lol, if only... My best option in this case would probably be GMG with a 25% voucher or something, but that would be a uPlay code, so... yeah, no.
  17. I was never terribly interested in it but, for some reason, I started getting really curious the closer to launch we got. If it wasn't 80 bucks on Steam, I might actually bite. I'll probably get it in a few months, once I can get a decent discount on it.
  18. Yeah, I also never made that "it's indie" argument. Quit being a moron, Cowboy. This thread is going to be fucking priceless if the game ends up being incredibly underwhelming, though!
  19. They still have that Sea of Thieves game. That looked kind of alright. Not really my thing but it didn't look awful like Fable Legends. If development goes smoothly and the game is a success, it could probably keep them alive. If they run into development issues, though...
  20. Yeah, at this point I've replayed through the main set of levels like 10 times because of the challenges. Some of them are actually pretty damn cool.
  21. Oh ok, I didn't know they were the ones to actually mention it. Well, I'm sure they could make it work by significantly dropping the graphical fidelity or something.
  22. If the rumors that Hello Games were struggling to get good performance on PS4 were true, I think PSVR support might not even be possible. I heard the game is going to run at 30 fps but I can't find any source. Has that been confirmed? Cause if that's the case then VR support on PS4 is very unlikely.
  23. I could be wrong here because I haven't really looked into it too deeply but the way I understand it is that they generated the one universe and the game takes place in it. I mean, I imagine procedural generation on that kind of scale has to be fairly long to compute, I'd be surprised if you could just reseed the whole thing and jump back in in a few mins. Although I guess that depends on the level of complexity at work.
  24. In the midst of idiotic arguments like "It's indie, it shouldn't be 60 dollars!", I just wanna point out that my stance on this has always been about what I'm personally willing to pay for the game. The devs can charge however the hell they feel is fair, no issue with that. I just won't buy it until it drops a bit. I was never particularly hyped for the game, so it doesn't make much of a difference to me. Your face is overpriced!
  25. It does but it's a bit weird. The interface is a bit like Terraria, so it's very mouse-driven. You're basically controlling the cursor with the joystick, which I don't think works particularly well.
