  1. Been looking forward to it ever since I saw the first trailer. Only put like half an hour into it and I can already tell this is going to be something special.
  2. Yeah, that's pretty normal. Unless you're losing more than 3-4 countries then you're not doing particularly bad. At what point in the campaign are you? Doing main story missions like the first alien base decreases panic globally, so it can help to time one of those to get the most out of that effect.
  3. Define fucking you over. If you're losing a country here and there, that's kinda normal. You shouldn't expect to keep them all on the council.
  4. What difficulty are you on? Normal without Ironman mode should be pretty easy unless you're playing like an idiot. Also, if you're getting your ass kicked and you end up losing, then technically you're within the canon and ready to move on to XCOM 2.
  5. Do I need to have played Legacy of the Void for these? The full mission pack is cheap enough for me to wanna get them but I don't want to spoil plot points from LotV or whatever.
  6. Was kind of obvious at this point but 2nd leak also confirmed fake.
  7. I'm not sure I buy that, power doesn't seem like something Nintendo prioritizes these days. Then again, if there's any truth to it and it's known within the industry, that could be why Sony and MS are looking into incremental hardware upgrades, I guess. Personally, I kinda hope the original rumor about NX being a console/handheld combo is true, with the handheld part being a proper 3DS successor that also fills the role of the Wii U's tablet. If the console component maintains BC with Wii and Wii U games and the handheld component maintains BC with DS and 3DS games, that would be a pretty strong selling point for me. Might be the first Nintendo console I buy since the N64. I'm probably setting the bar way too high with this, though.
  8. Grabbed a few things this week Ended up pulling the trigger on that Amazon marketplace copy. I've been playing a lot of Persona Q this past week and at some point I realized it's just not much of a Persona game. I'm still enjoying the hell out of it, though. Exploring these dungeons and mapping them out yourself is so satisfying and fun. So, I felt like I needed to get into the actual Etrian Odyssey series. Came out on the eShop for n3DS today. I've been meaning to play it for years, so it was a no-brainer. I really hope they end up bringing Earthbound Beginnings over as well. It's so fucking stupid to have a VC game being Wii U exclusive, especially given it's an NES game and there's already plenty of those on 3DS. So it's not like it was an emulation issue like with the SNES games. Also grabbed some dirt cheap bundle on IndieGala or something. There was some other crap in it but these three are the main ones I got it for. I've been curious about the Van Helsing games for a while, just not enough to actually buy them individually. 5 bucks for the lot was too good to pass up, though. And finally ...for some fucking reason. Steam implemented this new thing where you can get discounts on a bundle based on how many games in it you already own. I already had everything else in the bundle that went on sale a few days ago, so it was 5 bucks for this one. I haven't even played Borderlands 2 yet, total impulse purchase. I might have a problem...
  9. Japanese launch trailer. Oh man, that's looking pretty goddamn sick!
  10. The price inexplicably went up in a lot of regions today (to 80 bucks here) but it went back down just now. Not sure whether the initial increase was a mistake or if it going back down was but I'm not taking any chances, pre-ordered while it's back down to 60 bucks.
  11. Holy shit, yeah, back to the old price here as well. Wtf are they doing? I'm guessing it was a mistake or something? Now I'm really tempted to buy it right away, just in case. Thanks for mentioning it lol.
  12. Yup, went up here as well. Even factoring in that borderline insulting loyalty discount, it went from 61$ to about 73$ (regular price went from 69.99 to 79.99$). It's not crazy high thanks to the discount but knowing that I'm being punished for not pre-ordering earlier kinda pisses me off. Normally, this is a situation where I'd exploit the shit out of regional pricing purely out of spite but I think the price hike pretty much killed that option. Guess I'll hold off and hope for a decent discount on GMG...
  13. OH MY GOD I WANT IT NOW! Oh shit, looks like they announced that June 28th is the release date and also confirmed a Steam release! Sounds like the first two games might also make it to Steam but it's not certain yet. If it's not day and date, I think I'll just grab the Vita version anyway and double dip once it hits Steam.
  14. I just get them directly from the Steam store pages and rehost them on imgur. If you right-click -> open image in new tab, you'll get the bigger version. It used to be you had to remove the image size from the url to get the bigger one but that's no longer the case.
  15. I was about to pull the trigger on a Mario 3D Land + Link Between Worlds order but decided to browse a little longer. Came across this for 60 bucks and I just had to go for it instead. It was a bit pricy for a 3DS game but I'm pretty sure the last time I checked it was something like 90 bucks on the Amazon marketplace and I really wanted to avoid getting it through the eshop if at all possible, so I couldn't pass it up. But man, some of these older games are hard as fuck to find at reasonable prices. Even Etrian Odyssey Untold, which is only like 3 years old, is around 70 bucks now. I have a feeling I'll eventually have to shell out quite a bit if I really want Dragon Quest VI and IX. I should probably grab DQV while it's only 40 bucks...
  16. Meh, even for 400$ I would't go for it. After the Move and the Vita, I don't trust Sony with niche peripherals/hardware anymore, especially not when they're this expensive. It's not going to sell and they're going to drop first-party support before you know it.
  17. Okay what the shit is going on? First, when I click to quote Ethan the quoting markup shows up twice in the reply box. Then when I remove the extra one and post my reply, my reply shows up INSIDE the quote box? Anyway, yeah, I totally missed your post about the price.
  18. Probably like $800 CAD because why not?
  19. I love me some Hitman, so this was a no-brainer. I'm not a fan of the business model, though, so I just got the intro pack to give the game a shot. So far it seems to be a solid return to form so I'll definitely get the rest of it, just not right away. Probably once a few more episodes are out and I can get a decent discount on the upgrade pack. New game from the Risk of Rain devs just came out. Been on my radar ever since the announcement. It's some kind of Gunpoint-esque stealth action game and I am all over that.
  20. Keep in mind, the cutoff for automatic refunds is 2 hours, so you're gonna want to decide pretty quickly. 2 hours can disappear pretty fast when playing Souls.
  21. I haven't refunded anything myself but I'm pretty sure it goes back to whatever payment method you used. At least, that's what it says here. http://store.steampowered.com/steam_refunds/
  22. Impossible to say for sure until closer to launch (if people get pre-release access to the PC version) or after launch. The initial release of Dark Souls II was fairly well optimized, though. Haven't played Scholar yet but I don't recall hearing anything about performance issues on PC. The min specs for Dark Souls III seem to be on the low side, so I'd say that looks promising, at least. Also, if you're planning on getting it through Steam then you could always just refund it if the performance isn't good enough for you. Nothing to lose, really, so you might as well give it a shot.
  23. I expect some fan thing not worth getting excited about, that will likely get C&D'd the very second they announce anything.
