Saw this topic title, thought it said Game Genies, got really excited, and saw it was a bunch of TL;DR, got disappointed.

Well, since Nintendo isn't making a Metroid game, someone else is. Axiom Verge, and I'm sold. Glad it's coming to the three best platforms, PS4/Vita and (afterwards) PC.

Pretty easy. By 98 a lot of my friends had internet and we were aware of FAQs. Plus a lot of my friends were still buying strategy guides, which I think is how I figured out how to do it.

After watching last night's episodes, again, I can't get over how much better this season is than the last two... just a total 180. Also the two episodes back to back is pretty great, though it sucks this season will be over in a few weeks.

I do admire Nintendo showcasing so much gameplay, something I think Microsoft dropped the ball with and Sony did a pretty decent job at. However, my problem was just the games in general. Smash Bros we already knew about and I'm starting to get fatigued with all the trailers and announcements, the same way I was sick of hearing about Watch Dogs before it was released. The Zelda reveal was huge, but again, no game play. And beyond that, their games weren't just that interesting, or they were vague teases like Star Fox... who knows when the fuck we'll actually see Star Fox? They also didn't do a great job explaining what the NFC figures do. You can criticize Sony all you want about TLG but where the fuck is Metroid? Ever since Other M Nintendo's been saying they have plans for Metroid, but nothing ever materializes. BUT, the reason I'm posting here isn't to continue debating with the charming Atomsk88. I picked up Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze recently. I can't believe, for a game that was literally their biggest first party game for the first part of the year (until MK8) the fucking gamepad screen shuts off when you're playing it. When they're struggling to show why this gimmick is important, I can't believe they weren't ripped apart for that.

Oh boy... Nintendo is a terrible hardware developer and their hardware just can't compete with the Xbone, PS4, and PC? Besides the Wii their hardware sales have been on a steady decline each generation, moving to 3rd party would allow them to sell more games and not be limited to their weak and gimicky hardware. There's no Nintendo hate here, just a lot of stern criticism to a company that clearly doesn't know what the fuck they're doing anymore. Though I do own a Wii U I'd buy all of my Nintendo games on PS4 if they were released on PS4, who wouldn't? Your comparison to Ratchet and Clank is dumb because first of all, those games must sell somewhat decently because Insomniac is still releasing them but also the difference between a Ratchet game and a Mario game is pretty huge, both in terms of quality and popularity.

Yeah a one screen handheld would be ideal. Nintendo has been using two screens since 2004 and I have yet to see a good use of it beyond inventory/map.

Ok you guys are crazy. Final Fantasy XIII, while no means a great game, was a much better game than either Dragon Age. Sorry but both Dragon Age games are just bad, lifeless, soulless, and bland, and nowhere near the upper echelon of fantasy RPGs of last gen like Skyrim and uhhh.... ...man last gen sucked for fantasy RPGs. The only benefit 2 had over the first was the improved combat system.

Oh god this is surprisingly good, I haven't been the biggest fan of the past few Wilco albums, but the songs from Jeff's new project, Tweedy (Jeff Tweedy of Wilco and his 18 year old son) have been really strong, Jeff is always at his best when he has someone to partner with (Jay Farrarr in Uncle Tupelo, Jay Bennett on early Wilco, and Jim O'Rourke with A Ghost Is Born and Loose Fur), so maybe he has that with his boy. Just pre-ordered the album on coloured vinyl.

Dragon Age Origins is really good for nights when I'm having trouble falling asleep.

I guess I just like fun in my video games.

Both DA:O and DA2 suck in different, but equal ways.
