  1. DAMMIT STEAM SALES! I already bought enough from you, now you have Witcher 1 and 2 at 75% off each? Why? I can't even possibly play all the games I bought already in a year, why add more games I want?

  2. I don't know what apps do require 4.1 or above, I just know that the Fire HD runs 4.0 so I just assume any app, if there are any, won't run. There are still some apps that don't work, but they are more phone specific apps that aren't in the Amazon Store.
  3. Appearance wise, its very similar. The thing I really like about it is the Amazon Instant Video. There are not as many apps in the Amazon App store, but you can still download an app and install it on your Fire HD as long as you have the option to install apps outside of the Amazon App store turned on. EDIT:It has to be able to run on Android 4.0, if anything requires 4.1 then the app wont work. I really enjoy having all of my books/movies/tv shows/music/ everything that I bought on amazon instantly available on my Tablet. I know that with the Nexus 7 you can view everything aside from the Amazon Instant Video, but the Instant Video is really what captured me. If you haven't invested a whole lot of money/time into the Amazon digital market, I would suggest the Nexus 7, but I had my OG Kindle Fire before the Nexus 7 was even rumored.
  4. GASP! I never noticed that this thread existed! For Xmas I got a new Kindle Fire HD (yes I know, I'm a sheep. I already had the OG Fire and this one was better plus it fit into the ecosystem that Amazon has created for me, which is for suckers). My brother got me Uncharted 3 and my ex/not ex/its complicated girlfriend got me Dishonored on the Xbox.
  5. I feel like I've been in a bizzaro world for a while. I only lived my "normal" life for 2 days since December 21st. So many holidays. Hope everyone had a great holiday season!

Things will sort of return to normal for me next week... though I still have my birthday and a day off in the middle of the week because of it.

You're telling me man. My man was telling me yesterday "Jorge I think you have a drinking problem" and I was all "I got really drunk on the 31st and now I have a drinking problem?" Motherfucker. He drinks like crazy in every party he goes to, I don't tend to drink at all heavily except for like 3 dates a year.

Sounds like someone's trying to put their own issue onto you. Projecting I do believe it's called.

  6. I forgot the Stan Lee cameo, what was it in that movie?
  7. I movie hopped to this film after seeing Tangled. Maybe after seeing a movie that I thought was on par with one of my childhood favorite movies (Aladdin) I was just disappointed with the film. Maybe I should try it again.

To me, that is a selling feature. They should have doubled the cost if it came with free naughty pictures of someone, maybe she lives close by. Maybe she likes men who know their way around a Nintendo handheld. Ooo! Naughty!

I like when they start crying. Hilarious.

  9. I guess I never posted in 2011 what my 2012 goals were. All in all, a failure. Mostly had to do with losing weight and eating right. For 2013: 1. Get back to my goal weight between 170-175, I'm currently between 190-195 2. Eat healthier 3. Exercise more 4. Write more 5. Read more 6. Actually finish at least 6 games this year 7. Get my motorcycle license and a motorcyle 8. Play bass more.
  10. Well I find this news disappointing I dont think its bad enough to prevent me from playing the game. I, for some stupid reason, believe that eventually there will be a patch that will allow you to save your progress on your hard drive.
  11. Had a huge italian food feast that a sub-contractor brought in to wish us a happy holidays. I had spagetti, ceaser salad, cheesy bread, pizza and fried calimary. Overall it was too much food!
  12. Steam pulled it from the store saying that it was a mistake. Kotaku article here : http://kotaku.com/5969836/the-war-z-removed-from-steam? Interesting story to say the least. I have not touched the game and no loyalty to DayZ at all, but the way it was handled was shady at best. I did like the idea of the game, but I guess I can just play DayZ since its essentially the same.
  13. I jumped back into GW2. Strangelove: I've always wanted to play Strangers Wrath, but never got around to it. I'm a huge fan of the Oddworld series. Does anyone know if Strangers Wrath is part of their Oddworld Quintology or just a side game? Prepost Edit: A little research tells me that its no part of the Oddworld Quintology, neither is the first game I played, Abe's Exodus.
  14. From a Kotaku article where the devs of WarZ defend some issues: I think that last is just down right wrong. It is a lie, your servers don't actually have 100, you can not play up-to 100 players. You can play up to 50 players right now. That is the cap. You cannot run into a game that has 51 or more players. Its wrong and its shady to falsify statistics and then say "well technically its not a lie".
  15. Answer me this. If during Saurons first war the kingdoms of middle earth found that his ring was the one ring to rule them all, then why do the like of gandalf and the elves still wear their rings?
  16. Not even color but the faces. I didn't just watch the movies, but I did watch all 9 hours from each of the special extended version of Fellowship and Two Towers. I enjoy "making of" features, and those versions were amazing to watch. So I have a familiarity of the design of the orcs and goblins. I just remember the one guy who wants to eat Merry and Pippin's legs, he looks nothing like anything in the Hobbit.
  17. I guess I would put Hobbit here. I didn't quite like it as much as the LotR trilogy, but I enjoyed it a lot. I did have a few pacing issues with the film, a few scenes were thrown in that seemed to be too quick on a dialogue level compared to the rest of the movie. Action sequences felt one on top of the other also, but not a bad thing, I just felt that it wasn't as well paced as LotR was. Maybe I'm getting too old to sit in a theater for 3 hours at one time. I also was really really bothered by the orcs and goblins being 100% CGI. I felt that the design of these guys were very different from what they were in LotR, and for some strange reason they all suffered from the cave troll disease and had their eyes too far apart and very small for their heads. Still I couldn't help but enjoy the movie all the way through.
  18. I saw The Hobbit yesterday. Don't know if I want to put it in Good movies or OK movies. I have mixed feelings on it. We should make a new thread "Movies that are better than OK but not Great/Good. Kind of your 3.5 to 4 star movies"

Good means it is better than Okay. If you really like the film you can say "fantastic"

The Hobbit was a "fantastic" movie.

  19. I really like the concept of this. The idea that I could rule my own kingdom, wage war, trade and tax all with the use of other players. The problem is, people will all want to be king, they will all want to be the top and because there is no such thing as mortality in a video game, it will never live up to its potential even if done right. Why should I pay taxes to this one player, I'll try to kill him and his army by raising my own army. If I lose, either my character dies and I start over or I re-spawn and try again. Perma-death is the best way to deal with everybody fighting for top dog, but really you only can be top dog if other people allow it, nobody will allow it just because you are stronger. Really neat concept though.
  20. Jumped back in a few days ago. Forgot how much I loved the dynamic quest system. The heart quest are just meh, but the real beauty are the dynamic quests. I was in an area and there were some traders using the trade route and one of them collapsed. The other trader says "We can't stay here, leave him." The next said we should give him some time, but they needed to be prepared incase any ice monsters attacked. Then a quest of defending them against waves of enemies started up. After successfully fighting off the hoard with a few players, a giant Moa came out and attacked us. We killed that guy and went our separate ways. I continued to my personal quest location, and was called over by an NPC who was standing with a pack mule, who told me that the road was too dangerous to travel alone, and needed my help. I helped him and we were trapped by an avalanche and some troll like Jotun attached us boxing us in. About 6 or 7 other players jumped in to help out and we safely transported the traveler to the nearest check point. I continued heading to my quest and another quest popped up, again more travelers but this time they were guarded by NPCs who asked if I would help. Since they were heading the same direction I was, I decided to help them, and fought off checkpoints of monsters and creatures. Finally I got to a bridge that was underattack. I failed the quest, and the bridge blew up underneath me killing my character. After respawning I went back to the bridge and I couldn't get across without having to go the long way around, but they decided they needed to rebuild the bridge. So I helped with that. All of this in a 2 hour gaming session. I forgot how much fun it was to just wonder in this game.
  21. New expansion Aftermath is out. I really like the new maps. They aren't pretty, and dull brown and grey, but the lay out with the trenches and the new armored vehicles are spectacular fun. The Crossbow (or Xbow) is pretty entertaining too, although a tad bit cheap, but they have some serious drop so they are a close to mid-range weapon. I think the new scavenger mode is a fantastic change on the whole dynamic. Sure it kind of defeats the whole purpose of battlefields class system, but its a nice round to throw in after a few conquest/rush matches. Almost like a cool down. I didn't care for Armored Shield, they were to spread out and you would fight a few enemies in one area, but mostly there would be 3 or 4 at each base defending/attacking so you spent most of your time traveling back and fourth. I feel like I got my money's worth out of Premium, and I still have one expansion left.
  22. See! This discussion is exciting! All based on the fact that Steam is serious about making a Steambox! Look at all the possibilities that it could be based on the possibilities that we can think of. I don't think anyone here is a market analyst, so these are all speculation based off of common knowledge. This discusion pretty much sums up why I think the Steambox will change the console market. Even if it isn't a roaring success, it is something everybody is curious about, bridging the gap between consoles and PCs. Good stuff. New thought here that just came up. What if its a base box that has easy to replace components, and you buy stuff like graphics cards that are lvl 1,2,3 and so on. Easy to understand, easy to remove and replace. No real computer knowledge involved. Want to play Farcry 3? You need a lvl 2 graphics, lvl 1 processor, lvl 2 ram. Easy! Steam boxes come in various SKUs, lvl 1, 2, and 3 (more for future proofing). Maybe thats just complicating things even more, but I feel like its easier to understand.
