  1. I liked brotherhood, but I still felt 2 was a superior game story wise and i preferred the setting. I will be getting revelations soon, I got AC1 around the time 2 came out, I got AC2 around the time brotherhood came out and got Brotherhood around the time Revelations came out. Looks like I'm a game behind, but if I play them back to back I'll get a little bored of them. My favorite cinematic of any of the AC games, the first time you rode your horse to a major city in AC1, and the camera panned out and showed the city. That was spectacular. AC3's naval battles look so cool, I can't wait to get my hands on them! Sadly, they remind me of that cancelled Pirates of the Caribean game that looked really neat.
  2. I need a better monitor. I have my game set to all of the highest settings and it still doesn't look as good as that screen shot...
  3. This movie looks like a Lord of the Rings rip-off. They even got the same actor play the wizard!
  4. Got it on the PC. I had always intended to get it on the PC, but a few friends wanted to play last weekend on the 360 so I caved and bought it. Last night a friend decided he was going to buy it on the PC and again I caved and bought it again. The PC version settings all to the highest... it looks great!
  5. I struggled on that one too. I played with a friend and we both had to respawn a few times. Luckily we figured out the method, I gunzerked him, he zeroed him and eventually we chipped him down enough to kill him
  6. Driving for an errand at work today, and some dude nearly side swiped me because he wasn't paying attention. Naturally, at the red light 50 ft ahead, I pulled up next to him and said "You are aware that your lane is over here, and you nearly hit me?" very angrily. He then proceeds to tell me it was my fault because I was driving too fast. I was next to him going roughly the same speed as him for two blocks. He says "If I had been driving like a civilized person" then I sai...

just to be sure I mention it. I'm a hyper defensive driver. Whenever I have cars nearby I am ready to step on the brakes if necessary. Almost crashed on a right-turn only lane with somebody from the opposite side who had a yield sign and kept going. Honked at him, cursed him out, then moved on with my life

I get REALLY pissed at other drivers until they are out of sight for a minute or two, and then I'm over it.

I hate driving, mainly because of other people. Everywhere, I see people who are just terrible drivers. Not always aggressively so, but stupidly so. I just keep all the rage inside. =p

  7. I have no experience in game design, programming, or anything that is needed to build a video game, but I would love to work for Insomniac. I really admire them

  8. Its bad on the Xbox too. I plan on getting this on the PC, but a few friends got it on xbox so I bought it there for now. weapons at the bottom of the inventory cannot be seen, I can't tell if I marked them as junk, its just not a very good method when you character is in the way of your menus. Other than that, its a great sequel to one of my favorite shooters (yes I know the shooting isn't fantabulous, but its always had so much character that I just always loved it)
  9. I started last night as the Gunzerker, and its pretty freaking awesome. It is just dual wielding, but you guns are more accurate, with higher critical hit chances, you replenish ammo, and you can take more damage. Its basically just like the berzerker but instead of fists you use gunz. I used an assault rifle and a sniper rifle as a gunzerker and I just fucked everything with my sniper rifle.
  10. My graphics card just updated, which set my aspect ratio all out of wack. I have an older 32 inch 720p Vizio TV, my current resolution is set at 1280 x 720. I had this problem before but the next morning I turned on my PC and the problem went away before I could figure out what I did to fix it. I cannot control the overscan/underscan on my TV, changing the overscan/underscan on my Nvidia control panel does nothing. What am I supposed to do? UPDATE: I just bought a VGA (maybe DVI, I can never tell which is which. 3 rows of 5 prongs) cable and hooked it up to my tv. After a little messing around that seemed to fix the problem... somewhat. The font isn't as clear it seems, but its now running at 1366 x 768 resolution, which is higher than what my HDMI cable would do.
  11. I'm confused, is this new PS3 a "Slim PS3 Slim"? or is it a budget PS3?

In the UK it's 500GB HDD or 12GB flash. The 250GB HDD is an accessory. I personally think they are stupid prices. I thought it would be priced to significantly undercut the Wii U.

      Faiblesse Des Sens

^Oh, so there isn't a 250 option in Europe, thus the weird prices.

The 250GB also comes in a bundle with Uncharted 3 GOTY Edition and some other things, so $269 for 250GB and other goodies isn't too bad. Not to mention the you get 500GB for $300 rather than 320GB, so the "Slim" models should go down in price to make way for the new model.

  12. Level 36 in GW2, highest level I have ever achieved in any MMO.

    Apple

It really wasn't that big of a step forward for Apple. I always care about what Apple does, not because I like Apple products (using an iPhone for work after my WP7 feels like a major downgrade), but because Apple sells. When Apple sells, it curves the direction of tech, for better or worse. Example: Tablets, they were a thing before the iPad, people rarely used them, Apple released the iPad and now tablets are all the rage, which wouldn't have happened if the iPad never sold as well as it did. It doesn't matter how great the iPad is or isn't (it is pretty neat though), what matters really is that it sold well. On another note: http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/12/heres-what-real-racing-3-looks-like-on-iphone-5/ I don't care what you think of Apple or iPhones, that is fucking impressive to be coming off of a phone. Can other phones do this? There are a few, but that doesn't make the graphics look any less impressive.
  14. Well in all seriousness Construction Engineering Management isn't really an engineering course, as much as a specific management course with some light engineering sprinkled in. No class was complete without students asking for the class to be easier, and I already thought them to be easy enough as it was.
  15. I never found Statics to be too difficult, but I didn't find any of my CEM classes to be difficult. Problem was getting the required internship to graduate. Luckily my friend's fiance's mother was the head of HR at a CM firm and I got the internship there last summer, graduated in december and got a job with the same company in April and move 400 miles away and am pretty happy right now. Its a good field, school doesn't do it justice, you really have to experience the job sites to really appreciate the field.
  16. Ooh, i hope it supports controller, otherwise i might wait for it to come out on the 360. It looks fantastic though
  17. Today I bought Crysis, Crysis Warhead, and Crysis 2 for less than 20 buckaroos! I also bought Fallout New Vegas three weeks ago when I got my new PC but haven't played it much.
  18. I retook physics 1 and 2 both. Only failed one class, dropped the other before I could fail. My suggestion, if its really not a requirement, but a pre-req. then try to see if your adviser will allow you to take the class that requires the second physics class at the same time that you are taking physics 2. If you class is anything like the ones I had, you really don't need to know it as much as understand the concepts as you'll be retaught everything in terms that are more specific for your major. For example, as a construction engineering management major I had to know physics to learn and understand statics (which followed through to strength of materials classes), so ultimately I had to know that Gravity was 9.8 meters per second and for every action there is an opposite and equal reaction to keep things from moving.
  19. Walking, talking bulls that use magic in order to defeat evil gods of destruction? That's pretty believable. But pandas? What the fuck, Blizzard. Agreed, don't forget the space demons and werewolves who can't un-change
  20. Alright, the game has been out for a week, thoughts? Personally its everything I was hoping for, nothing more, nothing less. Maybe all those youtube videos plus the beta weekends allowed me to get my expectations in line (although I, like johnny, had high expectations that were met), but overall I'm very happy. My biggest concern is the leveling, although less important, seems to be going very fast. The highest level I ever got any character in any MMO was in WoW, and that was to level 32, after 2 weeks, and I stopped playing after that for the reason that I just started playing other games. I'm concerned that in a week at level 29 I may end up reaching max level at the end of the month. I know that levels don't really matter in this game cause you get down-leveled and then lower level content is still challenging (although with better weapons and skills you still kick ass), but still it concerns me. The WvW is amazing, I haven't played the 5v5 pvp yet, but I intend to. The downed trading post bothered me once, but for the most part I haven't even tried to use it. I enjoy just wondering around and then finding quests to do, that's awesome, and I love the combat, its more action-y than most hotbar mmos. Crafting I find to be annoying, I'm a weaponsmith, and I cannot find enough materials to craft weapons that will give me any XP to get to a crafting level of 75 to start crafting anything beyond bronze weapons. While cooking on the other hand is just as easy as going to the guy and purchasing more goods and then experimenting. The crafting itself is fun, like discovering new formulas, but weapon crafting doesn't open enough to you to gain any xp, and the few items I can craft to gain XP I have to craft using very hard to find items (tiny scales, tiny totems mostly). The weapons I crafted were good to use up to level 20, which I found surprisingly neat. I want to be able to use raw materials in the crafting exploration so I can start making iron weapons but the game wont let me. Maybe its just me. Any seasoned MMO player can tell you how different combat and exploration is in this game over the current line up of MMOs, but if you have a limited experience in MMOs, you may not be able to spot what makes this game unique and different. Its an interesting blend, but over all my favorite MMO to date.
  21. Worked a 13 hour day today, going to play Guild Wars 2 until I hate all colors.

I hope the dyes you want drop for you

I just want a red that is darker than the basic color sets. I have found like 3 off whites in the common and a rare "royal blue"

  22. Pirate, I played both in beta, both were awesome, but Elementalist was so kick ass.
  23. Americans, (this includes all two of the continents because your only choice is America and Europe) I'm hoping on the Dragonbrand Server now, but if we change servers it should be free to change for a little while.
  24. hooked up my new computer to my TV and tried sims 3, won't play at a resolution that fits on my 720 tv, every other game doesn't have this issue, but Sims 3 does. I can't seem to get the resolution to fit. Duke gave me some suggestions to make it work, but sims doesn't fit. What can I do?
