  1. My neighborhood sucks. More than half the houses have no lights on and are not giving out any candy. I feel the urge to give out more candy to each kid because of it

I've been there :) Sadly, 6 and a half years later, I'm still in college.

      My neighborhood sucked too.

Though with all of these neighborhoods sucking, maybe THIS is the norm and people just have this idea that normal neighborhoods have throngs of chillun going up and down the street all night?

  2. ... I was fooled. Also, my internet at work is really slow, so I waited for some time before I realized it too. Should have known by the old youtube layout
  3. Took down my first enemy jet while flying a jet yesterday. It was amazing, but so hard when you have missiles flying after you left and right. Learning to fly was so much fun!
  4. SPOILER VIDEO First 23 minutes of Skyrim on the Kotaku link below. Kotaku link => http://kotaku.com/5854660/watch-the-first-23-minutes-of-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-right-here/gallery/1

Yeah, it should work fine, I've transferred hard drives before. Even your downloaded games will work (though only for your profile) if you're online.

You know putting your hard drive in someone elses xbox is how STIs spread right?

I now have an itch, you should have said something earlier Dean!

  6. I noticed I had 5 up votes in a forum and it said "Popular" on the top right corner... Is it sad that made me very happy and smile?

Avoid words like: "ignorant pawns", "slime of the earth" communists", and "spoiled brats".

  7. I wouldn't be surprised if there weren't, but at least they look cooler this time. Though from what I understand, there is a special Dragon armorset, so at the very least, that's +1 armor option than there was in Oblivion. My biggest gripe about the armor wasn't the lack of options, it was the lack of options per "level" of armor. Beginner of light armor always wore leather and worked their way up to elvish and blah blah blah. Everybody ended up looking the same when they maxed out. From what I've gathered they've massively overhauled the levelling system, so I think with this you're not going to end up with set armour for certain levels. I hope so! After rolling two characters, one light armor and one heavy armor, I had already knew what to expect from then on. I love RPGs when you find new armor and are like "well this is slightly better at X but worse at Y, what do I specialize in and how does this help me" Oblivion didn't have that factor, and I don't blame them, considering the size, but it was something I hope they fix in Skyrim
  8. Jumping in to just mention a few favorite comics of my own. 1) Ultimate Spider-man, 2) Ultimate X-men, and 3) Red Robin. Its a shame they changed the costume to Red Robin, but his new role as far as assembling the Teen Titans seems to work for Tim Drake. I'm thinking about jumping in and trying out the new Nightwing comics to see how I feel about them, and the new Superman reboot is supposed to be real good so I might give that a shot too.

  10. I'm so playing this game in third person Does anyone know if there are going to be more armor options than there were in Oblivion?
  11. Is there a comic book thread? I would search for it if the internet at work wasn't so slow and spotty.

  12. My feelings on the Occupy movement is this: The idea behind the movement is understandable, and even IMO respectable. Something I can probably agree with, but some of the people protesting seem to not be sure of a clear motive of the idea, they are just protesting to "stick it to the man". I also disagree with getting in working people's ways, running out in the streets infront of traffic. As someone trying to get to work to pay my bills, I should not be blocked from going to work and I should not have to slam on my brakes because a protester ran out infront of my car when I was driving 45 mph down a street. As a driver I am responsible for my safety and the safety of others and when somebody does something stupid like that. I could have been hit by a car following to close to me and been injured myself. Its because of how they are affecting me is the reason I cannot get behind the movement. I don't support idiots who endanger their lives and the lives of others. This may be all secluded to the greater LA area, but that's where I live, and that's what I see. Peaceful protests with eye catching slogans and spreading your ideas through a public forum for change are great. Movements, are great. The attention this cause has is enough to start a change, but when it starts to get diluted, like it has near me, that's when I cannot get behind it. The police are aggravated by these protesters. When an officer is trying to protect them from hurting themselves and the protesters decide not obey, they have every right to get frustrated. The problem is, getting frustrated and attacking the protesters are not the same. Getting frustrated is very reasonable, attacking a protester and beating them is not. I think the biggest issue is getting the officers to be responsible for what they are doing. Its wrong and pathetic to attack protesters marching, or showing their support if they are not inciting violence.
  13. I've always been bitter about never receiving a star, I've never really been a troll, and I've had the writers agree with me, but I guess I've never said anything amazing either. It wasn't an issue until I saw people who were just trolling and they had a star. That always irked me. Now-a-days I've just given up on getting a star and still comment on there but less and less. The community has changed, and those that were people I enjoyed have moved on (most of them to this place ) so I just have made less of a presence there and moved on. I recently removed Kotaku from my bookmarks bar because I never used that anymore (thank you google reader), and have a plethora of other sites to read. My biggest issue with Kotaku is that even though I dislike a lot of what they have written, what Nick Denton has done to the entire Gawker Media in general, they still release the most information of any other site. If I want something to read I end up on Kotaku no matter what, just because the shear amount of articles they have.
  14. Has anyone tried out Co-op? Is it just a horde like mode, or do you have full on objectives that you have to complete?
  15. No, I'm getting it on the 360, so there are still two of us!

  17. Muse... put all the albums together into one mega album playlist!
  18. That would make sense as to why some games cannot save on the game card, but if there is space on the game card why would they prevent you from saving on an external memory? I'm sure there are performance numbers and it would perform better on the game saves than on having to go from the game to the memory card and then back to the game again. Who knows? Its just odd to me. Again, not really that big of a deal (unless I can't have multiple saves for one game because of save space), but if I'm going to pay 70 bucks for a 16 GB memory card, then I think I should have the option.
  19. I keep getting "Failed to connect to ea Online. Please try again." This is annoying. EA get it together man.
  20. Sony Vita games that have internal memory won't allow you to use external memory and games that require external memory wont play without the external memory in the machine. Not a deal breaker, but something rather quizzical, why does it matter where the game saves? Also, why are not allowed cloud saves on this thing? (I know the answer for the last one, and its money) Link http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/25/vita-games-with-internal-memory-cant-use-memory-cards/
  21. *tide Sorry. No worries, I had no idea it was tide. Now I know and will be able to correct that in the future. Thanks.
  22. Thats what people seem to forget when it comes to consoles. People always say "Looks good for 5 year old hardware" when in reality when the system is doing nothing but one item at a time, it should be comparable to more modern specs than what they actually have in the machine. Sure the systems are getting a little aged looking now, but we still get some games that look phenomenal, regardless of it being a PC or PS3/360. I'm getting ready for the next generation of consoles, I've had my ps3 for 5 years and my xbox (which I got for free) for almost 1 and a half years. It also helps that I had a taste of working full time in my field at great pay, so price will be less of an issue than the last generation was when I bought in. I know my case is exclusive to me, so my opinion may be a tad different than others, but I'm just saying I am ready. Until then, I have Skyrim, BF3, ME3, Uncharted 3, and a few other games that will tie me over.
  23. Another thing that will be amazing on new hardware, that the current hardware can't do, is highly detailed objects from a far draw distance.
  24. I finally took Kotaku off of my bookmarks bar. Feels kind of good to realize I have broadened my library of gaming sites, using Kotaku less and less

But if I were to select a favorite, it would probably be Joystiq. Its not the best but I like their shorter posts that are pretty beefy. Plus Massively.com is a really good site and thats a joystiq site.

I use Joystiq too, even if their comment userbase is pretty crappy.

For that random assortment of gaming news I go to VG24/7. They tend to be better at that than Joystiq in my opinion.

Thanks Rocky, I'll try them out too

  25. Well, I just found today that on Gawker, there is now a minimum size comment to which you can reply. Lets say someone calls you an asshole, or just "stupid", and you want to ask them "what makes me an asshole?" or "what makes me stupid", you cannot reply to that person because the comment is too short.
