  1. I'm on my 3rd Silver transforming D-pad Xbox controller... All of them have the sticks get stuck, its annoying. I don't know if its the way I handle them (probably) or if I get bad ones, or if the controller themselves aren't as sturdy as the other ones made by Microsoft. I don't have the kind of money to keep replacing them either.
  2. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Check this out fellers! I'm so excite: http://www.arena.net/blog/mike-ferguson-on-guild-wars-2-world-vs-world
  3. This makes me want to jump back into Far Cry 2. I really liked that game for what it did well.
  4. Well GW2 having only 10 skills, huge UI, yet beautiful, means that the transition wont seem to hurt the product, so I'm hoping. These by the way are redeeming facts in my opinion. I know the WiiU probably wont, but I hope that Nintendo tries to compete for a little bit, because it only makes gaming that much better
  5. First things first, my background and beliefs. My father has a distaste for religion, he grew up on a farm in England, and they just don't seem to care one way or another. My mom grew up in Michigan as a Catholic, she claims I'm Catholic too. I grew up with only what my mother told me of religion, we are not church going people and we don't seem to mind. I had a belief, and understanding, of the basics of the Christian & Catholic religions, but was always open to understand and learn other religions. While my mom wishes I was more religious and shared her beliefs, I thank both of them for allowing me to learn and explore the cultures of different religions. I respect and understand all religions, because I have never been told that there is one true religion and the others are wrong. I don't believe that any religion tells you that, but there have been some people who have interpreted their religion to mean that. I learned about evolution, and my immediate thought was "Wow, this makes sense why we share 99% of our DNA with every living creature on the planet. This explains why we look like apes and monkeys. This explains why we have useless parts of our body." I took evolution, not as fact, but as theory (as has been said above) to which I believe. I also, after joining a fraternity in college, "found God." Not the Christian God, or the Jewish God, or even the Muslim God. No, I believe that there is some other will of force beyond understanding that exists. How else could we love? How else could we feel these other emotions? Sure there are scientific evidence that explains it, but that doesn't seem to make sense to me. These emotions are as real as the toilet I currently am sitting on. So I believe that there is a God, even if it isn't an ominous being out there, there is something more at work than just science. This then begs the question, if there is a God, why do we believe that he/she perfected us as we are today? Isn't it possible that he/she created earth and life before he/she finished? Could God have had some hand in evolution? What caused that single celled organism to give its DNA to a mutant 2 celled organism? What caused the first animal to have a set of lungs to climb out of water to begin with? Something is at work, even if it is just entirely by random chance that this freak cell split into something more. Isn't random chance, in itself, an unexplained power in the universe? You don't have to actually believe in evolution, nor has evolution ever been proven, but it has been widely accepted because there is physical evidence that backs it up. Unless more evidence is found that disproves it (and believe me people are searching for it), it will be widely accepted. I would also like to state that in my 6th grade class (typically 11 years old for Americans, you Limey's have some different school system that I don't understand!), I learned both evolution AND religion. I studied all religions, from Greek "Mythology"** to the modern Christian beliefs, and I even covered the Islamic religion. They were all interesting, and I've learned something from reading and understanding the religious mindset. Religion is powerful, because there is no fact to back it up, yet billions of people believe in some religion. They have faith, and that is what makes it so powerful, that someone is willing to fight for something they believe in, without cold hard facts. I know nobody would take somebodies word when buying a car that the "car runs fine" without even test driving it*** Religion teaches understanding, acceptance, and faith, to say that there is fact to back it up, in my humble opinion, belittles what is really at work. ** I quote Mythology for the Greek religion, because even if nobody believes in it anymore, it doesn't make it any less true than current living religions. *** My neighbor bought a car in Texas on the internet without test driving it... It broke down 10 miles away, and the previous owner said, "your problem now." So some people do buy cars without test driving
  6. Arena Net has come out and said that is not confirmed yet. http://www.guildwars2guru.com/forum/showpost.php?p=98826&postcount=4 Personally, I would love to see it go on consoles eventually. I don't believe that putting a game on a console requires to dumb the game down, so if its on consoles the more the merrier. I would also like to see if it does come on consoles to be cross platform. PC gamers alongside PS3 gamers alongside 360 gamers alongside WiiU gamers.
  7. I loved the series when it originally aired. I only watched a few episodes, and couldn't find more time to see it. The movie came out and I hadn't forgotten, but didn't see it in theaters. My friend's friend saw the movie, showed it to my friend who bought it and showed it to me. I said how I used to love what I saw of the series. Went home, bought the TV series and movie that night. Hands down one of my favorite movies/tv shows out there. (along with Arrested Development of course)
  8. Oops, my bad. I am super impatient, and my work internet is super slow, so after trying to search I give up and post anyways. I think the lesson of the day is: I am not allowed to post at work. I did not know that I just assumed video games take a very long time to even craft a world. Still I will dream!
  9. http://ppsh-41.tumblr.com/post/13145143504/entire-tamriel-landmass-built-into-skyrim So ESV has all of the continent in the game, just not fully detailed. You can march into Morrowind and see Vvardenfell, or make your way to Cyrodill and see the White Gold Tower, using the no-clip command. Todd Howard addressed this saying that it was for draw distance. I don't know much about game making, but I assume that you don't need to model an entire continent to create a draw distance, there are other ways of doing it (painted walls work fine). Todd also stated that they thought maybe they could use that in the future (Morrowind/Cyrodill expansions anyone?). I personally wont be holding my breath for full country expansions (but I am wishing so hard) but what I do think is more likely is modders throwing in these countries with access to. It's exciting!
  10. Do people not like TM:Black? Its my favorite of the series (minus the PS3 version cause I haven't played that)

Agreeing with Faiblesse Des Sens, although perhaps in a less rude way.

      Wuss, perhaps?

I never manage to get 1.0 working... did he make it easier to install?

    2. Faiblesse Des Sens

      Faiblesse Des Sens

I wasn't that impressed. Only the cars were significantly improved.

  12. Why, Duke, why did you link me to that Obi Wan stealing waffles? I can't stop watching it! Its so happy!

  13. Will the game have split screen? I don't like the demo as much as I love Black, but it's a good game. My brother and I will play together so much if it has split screen.
  14. man that was an awesome video. I still love Skyrim, I've put in close to 110 hours since I got it. I want DLC now, because I finished the main quest-line, and I finished the Civil War quest line (not to mention hundreds of other quests) but now I want more epic quests. I would love to continue to siege forts, but I'm running out of forts to siege. As an Xbox gamer I cannot download the mods, hopefully when I get a full time post graduate job I can build my gaming PC and I'll rebuy skyrim on the PC just for that. But for now, I'm stuck with what ever the Xbox gives me.
  15. In Star Wars, they build droids to do work that humans either can't or dont want to. They also built them to feel pain... Why? To torture them. Star Wars is one f'ed up galaxy

  16. I don't have PS+, so today I bought Shank 2 and Simpsons arcade on my Playstation. Rumor has it, I'm a happy camper.
  17. Bought the Simpsons arcade game and Shank 2, there goes my monthly gaming purchases :)

  18. I don't know why I get surprised when Sony does things to screw over their customers, because it happens all the time. You will no longer be able to bring PSP games to the Vita. They said you could, and changed their minds, like the PSP Go

@Masterdex: Yes it has a USB port, but where is the actual drive going to go? It's not small, you can't hold it in one hand and play with the other, nor can I see it being fine just dangling freely. Also they never advertised it to the US. It even says in the first post Madbass posted it was for Japan.

While they changed their minds again....to be honest the support would have sucked anyway. the Japan one was barely supported as it is.

@TheCowboyPoet: My issue with DLC is that I like to revisit old games. The typical DRM for DLC means that if I get a new console, if my account isn't still active and the DLC isn't still for download, it's gone for good. I still like Bushido Blade, but if it had DLC, I'd almost certainly have no way to access it now because it was 15 years ago.

  19. Season 5 of Futurama is not as good as seasons 1-4 + the movies. Still, glad that it came back. Haven't seen anything of season 6 yet

I didn't like the robosexual one, they already did one of those with fry and the lucy liu bot, and it was partially contradicting. The evolution and eyephone ones were good.

    3. Waldorf and Statler

My favorite episode of season 5/6/whatever is the Late Phillip J Fry. It had "In the Year 252525"

The evolution one was good. Eyephone was way too pop culturey.

  20. Actually, this is the exact reason we will see MW4, BF4, GoW4 (either GoW I'm talking about they are both going to have a #4), Halo 4, and so on. New IPs are so risky, at $30 million dollars, where as established and good IPs are less risky at twice that or more. This is why, in my opinion, the gaming industry is freaking out about piracy. They can hardly afford these games to flop on their own merit, let alone someone not pay for the game. The problem then comes to, how does one deal with the amount of money put into a game? Re-releases are easing the pain of new game funding, along with arcade like games. Games are only going to get more and more expensive (like hollywood) and we are going to see more and more sequels/prequels/spinoffs (like hollywood) because of the cost and risk. EDIT: Re-read, was way off topic, took it back Of course, this could have been your point all along, and I just didn't catch on, and if that's the case than ignore my derp-y post.
  21. Youtube now rents movies. I didn't know that!

If they stick banners on top and interstitial ads in front, tables will be flipped. I've said before I'd donate to the site or pay a little subscription to completely block ads.

  22. BF3 has been out for 2 and a half months, yet they can't seem to fix some of the UI bugs, such as points not correctly showing what is being captured or not.

They're not going to. Xbox has had what, one patch? PC has had maybe 3.

that is an outrage! I will protest by only playing half as much as I do now!

I can dig that... Usually I'm an explorer who carves shelters out of hillsides, but lately I've been making a high-rise apartment that goes to the height cap. Just below the clouds, I made a deck with soil to grow stuff... but of course in mining the cobblestone to build it I found a bunch of caves, wandered all through those, cleaned them up, lit them, etc... It never ends
