  1. It also helps to be in a management position where I am other peoples' boss. I'm the best boss ever, though. I really let people do whatever they want as long as the work is getting done and being done well.
  2. I'm a Project Associate Manager at a food research company. Basically, we design and execute taste tests for large retail food companies (crap you find in the grocery store). I manage a group of people who design and develop all the taste test materials (recruit the right people, put together the questionnaire, develop serving orders), then manage the data, run/farm out the statistics, and then put together big fancy charts and tables in a report. I've been working there 5 years and it's awesome. Over the next year I'm working to transition my department/my career to be more value-added focused, ideally with bringing statistics in-house 100% rather than the 25% it is now and dropping all the form based paperwork. As a counter-argument to the don't do extra work thing. I did tons of extra work and it's why I am in the position I am now, making as much as I am now. Then again, I work for a small company where me and my boss have mutual respect for one another, so...there's that.
  3. Dark City is one of my favorite movies ever. The director's cut is magical. Discussed this in the Netflix thread, but Valhalla Rising was the last brilliant movie I saw. It's a bit like if you took Werner Herzog, gave him some acid, and then told him to make a film about religion in 1100 AD. Sooooo good! Also, I can't wait to see Black Swan. The Wrestler pissed me off so much that I'd like to get some Aronofsky craziness back in my mental frame.
  4. Someday someday sunday...

It's an acquired taste. Of course, I only acquired the taste of it after I killed most of my taste receptors by smoking.

I hate coffee. I need a ton of milk/sugar before I can even drink it. Hot chocolate rules.

  13. Exit Through the Gift Shop has been added! Anyone with any interest in Banksy or graffiti art in general should definitely watch this. It's a documentary about a guy who sets out to make a documentary about Banksy but can't stop filming so Banksy turns it around and makes a documentary about him. I know, confusing! And great. Link
  14. SNES. I loved it so much. Super Metroid is still my favorite game of all time even after all these years. Sadly, I sold it in 7th grade so my brother and I could go in and buy a PS1 on launch day. I mean, I don't regret getting the PS1 right away; it probably still is my favorite console and gets used frequently, but all those games. So many games gone! I inherited another SNES from a friend a few years ago, but I need to buy a new power cable and I don't have any games. At some point when I have more money, I'll probably start sinking cash into rebuilding a nice collection.
  15. NoooooOOOOOO! Fuck this game! I watched a walkthrough once; there is no way anyone ever figured that shit out on their own. Impossible!
  16. I looooove the first movie, but that has everything to do with the fact that I watched it over and over and over as a child. Watching it now, it's slow, clunky, and silly, but I have such a nostalgia crush on it that I can't help but to enjoy it. Just got back from Legacy and I thought it was an absolute blast. IMAX 3D certainly helped the entire experience. Is it a great film? No, not really, but it's so totally worth seeing simply for the stunning visuals/sound. Is it a fun movie? Hell yes! The entire thing was a thrill through and through. The plot is silly and convoluted, but I liked the attempt the writers made with the whole digital world/real world theories. I would see it again tomorrow. If you're thinking about seeing it or holding off, I would go now. That movie would not be the same at home...I guess, unless you have a completely kick ass entertainment setup with some ridiculous speakers.
  17. Have to do a bit of work on Sunday, but otherwise I am planning doing nothing but sitting on my couch, watching movies and still being addicted to the internets. Was supposed to go meet up with some people at a bar tonight but after last night's debacle, I'm staying in. Hangovers shouldn't take 12 hours to go away.
  18. Uhhhhhh...headache...

That didn't help! A bloody mary and a viewing of Tron Legacy definitely did help, however.
