  1. Finished Episode 6 today. Did one episode a day for a week minus last tuesday when it first came out.
  2. I'm doing the same, but I'm doing it via not doing the loyalty missions for anyone I don't like. I am totally okay with Jack and Zaeed dying, and my Shepard has pretty much been a dick to both of them, so I hope that doesn't come back to bite me in the ass in 3 just because Bioware wants it to mess with my Shepard. I never liked them anyway. But I suppose that's getting into far more complex carryover between games than they're planning on doing.
  3. I'm just not sure how they're going to do it. They're tried very hard to make the Reapers this unstoppable force throughout ME1 and 2 and I'm honestly not sure how they could possibly make Shepard and humanity/the galaxy defeat them without going completely Deus Ex Machina on us. I'd love to see all the races band together and defeat the Reapers and (maybe) Cerberus, but I can't see that happening in my game where my Shepard did a lot of terrible things to other races in the galaxy. I'm hopeful they'll be able to pull it off, but I'm skeptical too.
  4. That seems to be an issue in most big, exploration based RPGs. Whiterun usually runs like ass in my Skyrim, but everything else is a solid 60FPS.
  5. So apparently you'll have a Prothean squadmate in ME3. I wonder if the appearance of some prothean tech or something of the sort will be the Deus Ex Machina needed to take down the Reapers.
  6. I killed them for just that reason. It just seemed like a decision that could so easily come back to bite everyone in the ass, saving them.
  7. So I just now finished the singleplayer portion of the demo. I'm like a week late on this, but I've been busy playing ME2. I wrote down my thoughts while I was playing it and I'm just going to textdump them here, then try and explain them later.
  8. Blasphemy! ME1 was so much better than 2.
  9. So I started playing this. I like it a lot, and the storytelling is great so far, but it has a lot of mouse acceleration right now and I can't quite get used to the controls. Tempted to bust out the 360 controller for it because the aiming doesn't seem to require a lot of precision.
  10. Origin ended their "Preorder Mass Effect 3, get Battlefield 3 Free" promotion 3 weeks early. I'm barely surprised.

In their defense, it really was too good to be true, but they shouldn't have started it if they couldn't follow through.

Phew. Had I known about that, I might have actually been tempted to get both. Origin is why I haven't bought BF3, and will probably means I won't ever play ME3. Meh. Moderately disappointed, but not installing any game that gives carte blanche to a company to snoop around my computer.

  11. I like it. The whole downvoting thing, although it never particularly bothered me, seemed to get a little out of hand in the past. Positive reinforcement is always nice.
  12. I now have 2 more Super MNC invites and a Tribes Ascend code if anyone here isn't already in either of those.
  13. Yeah, that looks like everything I didn't want from Far Cry 3. I'd gladly trade scripted sequences of intense action for the ability to approach any mission however I want. And I mean, however I want, not just "go left to get to the zipline" or "go right to get to the zipline". I'm with Six on this, my expectations have been lowered.
  14. Finished my sort of speedrunny jaunt through Mass Effect. I had said I wanted to replay them before ME3 came out so I could have a PC character to import, so I did it without doing many sidequests or exploring. And damn, I had forgotten how great ME1's ending was. Now on to ME2...
  15. I was wondering that myself. $30 seems perfectly reasonable for a game of its caliber, but I'm not sure if there was some steam conversion issues that I don't know about from US to Euros or Pounds.
  16. Yeah they did. Only one of those is a strategy game by my book. And not having Bastion being in the artistic achievement category is crap. Instead they have a game about Batman. Okay.
  17. My favorite thing with the fire is when you would fire an RPG and the backblast would catch the ground behind you on fire, often resulting in me freaking out like "Why is my health going down!?" before realizing I was standing in a bunch of flames.
  18. I bet it scans your computer and looks for pirated games, then decides how badly it wants to fuck up. I actually haven't ever bought a game with GFWL at launch, so maybe that's why I haven't had patching issues. By the time I've gotten all of mine they've pretty much stopped patching them.
  19. Definitely do the Winterhold quests. You get a lot of chances to train all your various forms of magic, and they don't push you into any other quest lines. The ending loot is sort of meh, but you do get a humble little shanty out of the deal. Otherwise, The Dark Brotherhood quests do a really good job of easing you into other quest lines. You'll have to join the Thieves Guild to complete those, and it's pretty easy to join the Imperials in the middle of them too. They're also definitely some of the strangest quests in the game. For the record, though, I've played about 40ish hours and only completed the Winterhold quest line. 40 hours isn't that much compared to other people on here, but I see no issue with just meandering your way through the game. There's really no need to complete quest lines, especially the main story quest, because then there will be dragons fucking everywhere.
  20. I was going to say, I haven't really had any issues with it as far as usability goes. I'd rather have games just use my Steamworks friends list. My biggest issues with GFWL is when it's used on top of other forms of DRM like Securom. I think it was GTAIV that uses GFWL, Rockstar Social Club, Steamworks, and Securom. That's when I really have issues with it.
  21. Cyber and Connorrr, which ending did you guys choose?
  22. Glenn Beck hasn't been on Fox since June. His show got canceled.
  23. Not out yet, and I guess Steam isn't doing pre-purchases, but I know I'll be getting Alan Wake on Thursday. So excited to play that on PC.
