You know, I think it's worth noting that Kickstarter isn't only for games. Just looking at the front page right now there's one local farm, a musical album, tons of different shit that isn't game related in any way. So much of this argument seems to be based around projects that will eventually bring in some sort of revenue for the developer/person who recieves the money, when really, so much of Kickstarter is about non-revenue producing products. I understand this is about games specifically, but I feel like when talking about the ethics or morals of Kickstarter in general it seems like the nature of the majority of site should factor into the argument...

Dunno yet, it hasn't arrived. From the little I saw on a friend's Xbox, it looks fantastic, though. I'm definitely looking forward to playing it and seeing how it controls. I believe Duke and Johnny and maybe someone else here have it, so they could probably tell you better than I.

I can agree with that. It just seems funny that someone who made Minecraft is poking fun at the ending of another game. But I mean, hasn't Mass Effect 3 been a dead horse for quite a while already? Perhaps I'm taking it too seriously, haha.

For some reason I don't find the Mars Effect one all that funny. Don't get me wrong, I like Notch, but I feel like he can do better.

Bulletstorm is Steam's Daily Deal today and you should all buy it. Definitely one of my favorite games of last year.

Rented Madden 12 for the PS3. I haven't played a Madden game in ages. I see nothing's changed.

I worked at GS for four years. Over four Madden releases, I'd say about 30% of the people who purchased the game were dudebros. Try again.

Aaaaand the new patch is out for PC people. Haven't got a chance to play it yet, but it looks like it's got most of the changes from the old changelog I posted earlier. Shame they haven't fixed fall damage or the burst-fire bug yet, though. Those are really the big gripes I have still.

Voter apathy? Out of curiosity, how's the voter turnout in the UK? Even with all of this shit-slinging in the US, turnout for presidential elections usually only ends up being about 50%.

As far as the combination of difficulty and badassery, I'd have to go with AC2 as well, but god damn, chaining together kills in Brotherhood just felt so satisfying. It may have been the easiest, but for me it was the most fun.

PSN: luftluftluft Just got my PS3 and have zero games for it at the moment, but I plan on getting the new SSX and probably a few more in a few weeks. Plan on using it for pretty much everything but FPSs. I'll probably add a few of you from here, but if I don't respond to any friend requests immediately it's probably because I'm going to be out for this weekend and unable to access it.

I don't actually think I've ever spent $60 on a game. Mass Effect 3, Battlefield 3, and Saints Row 3 are really the only games at a $60 price point I've ever preordered or got on release, and I don't think I spent more than $50 for any of those. I guess that's one of the pluses of PC gaming, as I think all of those came from somewhere other than Steam or Origin, the stores they had to be activated on.

PS3 320GB is on sale on Amazon today for $260. Considering buying it. What would you all recommend if I plan on hooking it up to my monitor alongside my computer? HDMI to DVI adapter?

It's 1080p, luckily. I never thought about the sound. What would either of you recommend for that if I've got the video using the HDMI/DVI adapter?

Well the AV output does stereo RCA output still, and there's toslink too if you've an amp. http://www.maplin.co.uk/gold-plated-2-phono-sockets-to-3.5mm-stereo-plugadaptor-34196 - something like this for RCA (assuming monitor has 3.5mm input)

PS3 patch released today. PC and Xbox should be close behind. It looks like there's some Battlelog modifications that carry over to all platforms, though. AS VAL now has extended mags, as does the RPK (which is probably a bug), and there's some server browser modifications for those on PC. Should be any day now for the megapatch, though, that's what I'm most excited about.
