  1. Yeah, when checking the forums yesterday, I saw that people are having all sorts of problems despite amazing PC setups. Nice job, Ubisoft... On the plus side, someone found a 'fix' to the issue I was having. Downloaded the most recent graphics card update available on the site...despite being from earlier than when my graphics card last said it had updated.

  3. Got my copy today, installed everything fine but it won't run singleplayer. Yet multiplayer will work fine. Fucking brilliant.
  4. So does default. I prefer Sprint where it is, too. It's just the switch to the B button that trips me up; I'm so used to punching dudes. Funnily enough, I checked my Halo 3 service record and most my kills came from melee. Thanks for the tip, but I'm sure I'll just get used to them!
  5. Well, the prototype for strong females in modern cinema was Ripley in Alien, who was originally a man in concept. And, of course, in the film, they kill off the manly man fairly early on. I think it's a good 'technique' to follow unless your story is about societal issues regarding gender (not exactly usual game territory).
  6. No, I'm using the default controls (RB for melee) when I'd been used to the default Halo 3 controls (B to melee), which I carried through into Reach.
  7. Only played 6 games so far but I am loving the multiplayer. I got into the swing of things very quickly...except for when I crouched behind a guy instead of assassinating him. Fortunately, my friend was there to stop that being a total disaster.
  8. Did the first couple of levels of Halo 4. Getting a real nice Halo 1 and 2 vibe so far.
  9. I'm considering getting all the adventure games in that deal...to then never play them, because that's what I always wind up doing...
  10. Snagged a new copy of the Halo 4 Limited Edition for a decent price on ebay, since everyone is telling me how amazing it is.
  11. Grabbed a Seagate 2TB external hard drive...but actually missed it being a Black Friday deal! Still, the price was alright with me anyway. And, having listened to it so many times, I figured I might as well buy my own copy of Sublime's 40 Oz. To Freedom.
  12. Ha, really? I think those were the stories I preferred (the killer doctor, revolting refinery ship), perhaps because I was irritated by the overarching plot, but I still recall a few mini-arcs at least.
  13. Well, 4 had the mutiny, which actually made me care about a character. I wouldn't say 3 was any worse than the two preceding ones (because I never thought highly of them) but I recall some episodes with decent concepts that I wish they'd explored more.
  14. So, I finished Battlestar Galactica. What a load of crap. It's another one of those shows strung along by cheap plot devices where it's a combination of characters acting incredibly stupid or being plot monkeys. I can see why George R. R. Martin got so infuriated with it. I can't imagine being a viewer who was waiting between seasons (and even ad breaks) over all those years. That's not to say it didn't have its moments, but those were long-gone by the final season. It's pretty telling that they were just picking and choosing who to make into Cylons, purely so the finale of season three could be a bit more interesting. And I can see that the Mass Effect series actually borrowed fairly heavily from the show right down to the awful parts that defined the third game. In other news, the only other current show I have been watching is Dexter, having only seen season one before that (and thinking it was alright). Pretty funny to see how things have developed and how the story is ramping up in this penultimate season. The writing is fairly bad and soap opera-like in most places but is lifted by some great performances and inspired direction. I can't deny that it'll be interesting to see how this whole thing shakes out. With BSG out of the way, I should really start on some of these other shows I have...
  15. Well, it was until the serial codes ran out, so I guess maybe they all went pretty quick.

  18. TMNT on blu-ray. It was only £2. Plus, P4's review sold me on it: "It isn't bad."
  19. Finally got some completed mixes from the band I played some bass for (though, I am not on track 4)! Would be cool to hear what you think. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/9621731/FinishedMixes.rar

it's deffo dated yeah. however the guy's songwriting seems pretty decent and his voice is strong. i was thinking the basslines sounded a lot more basic than the sort of work you've done before! from what i've heard. fair enough if that's what they wanted.

      no worries pal!

It's good! I could see it sold alongside other bands on iTunes and such. I agree with W&S overall. It's not a style I'd listen to a lot, but while it's playing, I don't feel like skipping through it or anything. Sounds professional and deliberate to me as well.

  20. Not in Campaign or Spartan Ops?! Laaaaaaaaaame. Ah, well, most of my Halo 3 clips were multiplayer.
  21. You mean Theatre Mode? Aka. The Greatest Thing Eveeerrrr. That's been in all the games since 3.
  22. After DCUO, I think I'll wait until the servers can cope.
  23. Wow, that looks nice! The action seems pretty cool. And I love the little shout at 1:30 as he leaps out of the car...out of the plane.
