  1. Ugh, first off, YouTube doesn't have any clips from Brick. It has so many great scenes but I wanted the one where the dude chases him with the knife. And then I could only find a poor quality version of this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lnInaxT67Rg Dialogue at 3:09 is great
  2. Pretty sure you saw that in your original post.
  3. Sounds interesting. 'Metcalf is hired by a man who claims that he's being framed for the murder of a prominent urologist. Metcalf quickly discovers that nobody wants the case solved: not the victim's ex-wife, not the police, and certainly not the gun-toting kangaroo who works for the local mafia boss.' Sounds very interesting.
  4. Oh, yeah. I remember when I saw that. I had no idea what it was about at all and, fortunately, no one spoiled it. I was wondering "Why did she have to answer that phone? Silly woman"
  5. Can't believe I never posted in here. Some great choices so far. Here are a couple of mine off the top of my head. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8HOaB1fOqA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2a-j3MJflNI
  6. Yeah, but besides the 'serious' element I'm talking about things like "Hag!", the swan, the Point Break moment, etc. In the same way, you could argue that Shaun of the Dead's own narrative elements (except now toward the end) are what mars its humour.
  7. I never felt Hot Fuzz was uneven in its laughs or something you need to endure. It just gets more action-packed and ridiculous towards the end, with a lot of joke pay-offs that the earlier stuff set up. But I guess that's down to each person. I actually find it hard to believe that someone thinks the last half hour of Shaun of the Dead is as hilarious as the rest due to the massive shift in tone.
  8. The concept sounds really interesting. I'd like an MMO that wasn't just about combat yet still quite accessible. I've not read much about it but the explorer or settler stuff intrigues me. Looks purdy too.
  9. Yeah, I tried one of them out with the demo. Looks pretty cool.
  10. Oh, and get an avatar or we will ban you. BAN YOU!
  11. Normally, I'd think it's stupid that someone has to state how important (or controversial) their opinions are but, in this case, I imagine your reputation precedes you, making it somewhat of a necessity. Welcome! p.s. and now it will be easier to let me know when that ME2 thing you are working on is done!
  12. Oh, wow, really? I had no idea... He just seemed too obviously shady and devoid of charm, whereas I expected him to be a bit more outgoing and boisterous. Although, I guess Thor already had that covered.
  13. I read The Maltese Falcon. I understand it did a lot for detective fiction but I didn't really like it, and its age really shows. Currently reading Danny Wallace's 'Awkward Situations For Men' that I'd got around Christmas when doing 3 for 2 with other books as gifts. Thought it might be interesting and give me some sitcom inspiration but it appears he's already done a US pilot based off the stuff himself. It is very good though.
  14. http://popwatch.ew.com/2011/05/07/thor-cosmic-cube-post-credits-scene/ Really did not like Loki in that film. I've never read the comics but I thought he was supposed to a silver-tongued charmer (as even the film suggests), not a shifty-looking brat.
  15. Loads of stuff here: http://www.something...tion.php?page=1 Page 7 has one that, while funny, contains massive Chinatown spoilers though! Skip the one titled 'Adam Jensen solves a mystery' by vseslav.botkin if you have not seen it.
  16. Competition is always good for the consumer but it's up to the publishers how they react. Having lower prices can shift far more units as well as create a buzz around the game (possibly negative if people are going to declare rapid price drops indicate it is a 'flop'). If it's not a Wii title, they may find having a lower price point nets them far more. Plus, it may also get people acting sooner and buying new rather than used. I can see how it may look harmful (if profits really are down significantly) but it could actually be beneficial in the long-term. I seem to recall Dead Space didn't sell massively but had enough potential and a built-in audience down the line that a sequel was greenlit.
  17. No! You may remember my epic rant after my ME2 disc broke because of one. And before that there was the whole Halo 3 LE with the crap spindle that didn't hold the disc properly (not sure if that was a SteelBook or just a steel case) and I still have to be really careful with my copy of Uncharted 2. I hate the things!
  18. Had no idea the Tesco bonus content for Arkham City was a whole load of side missions. Nice! http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-08-26-batman-ac-joker-content-tesco-exclusive ...but then: 'All pre-order customers get a steel book edition for no extra charge.' NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
  19. You said it was a 'tad limited' on the Skyrim thing which was the £5 off bit..
  20. The first coupon was only for the first 500 customers or something. Still, Arkham City for £22.70 is not bad at all. Especially since my usual place, GAME, doesn't seem to have any pre-order bonuses. First time using Tesco so I don't know if it'll arrive a day earlier than release like with GAME but I shan't be too peeved at that price anyway.
  21. Yeah, I went stealth, long-range. Although it can be a bit tricky, the tranq rifle does have its uses (like my fluffed shot creating a distraction, hehe). At first, I was kinda regretting it but I probably would have fared worse with a stun gun at the start... Just got my stupid self into a tight spot (like, four-patrolling-guards tight) via quick-saving before checking I was all clear. Had to dive into a bathroom in the middle of the room and close the door, before the guards surrounded the whole area in an alarmed state from spotting a guy I'd rushed in and knocked out (it was a trap!). Eventually, they calmed down but I was still stuck there! Of course when I opened the door, it attracted a guard. Fortunately, I had already purchased the cloak augmentation (just the first tier as well!), and activated it at just the right moment when he was checking around. That cloaking really saved my bacon (Americans read: saved my ass). I probably could've loaded an older save, I think the previous auto-save was 8 minutes before, but then I wouldn't have had a story to tell.
  22. This is as bad as "Works fine for me". I didn't have remote mines. I was lucky to have grabbed a stun gun on my way there. Plus, he took a heck of a load of combat rifle bullets. Took me about five attempts all told but still a nuisance. Especially since his machinegun is so powerful and there are explosive barrels around the outsides where cover is. And cover's no good once he's marched right up to you. Besides being crap at using a keyboard quickly while under pressure (which is almost everything: movement, sprinting, switching between weapons/grenades) my problem was more that I hadn't really settled on a playstyle, so I had no real useful augments. I imagine I'll be better prepared (and upgraded) for any future ones.
  23. Ha. I'd noticed the little red cross come up to say
