Yeah, you never told me the financial market had completely collapsed while I was away. Spain is full of retired English people, so I knew nothing.

I'm still not quite sure what's going on.

If you manage to figure out what's going on, let me know.

  2. Grabbed Gunstar Heroes on Steam for 50p. Bargain! The Mega Drive collection has some good stuff but I have most of it in disc-version on PS3. It didn't have Gunstar Heroes though and I only ever had a ROM of that.
  3. Really want to see that. Brendan Gleeson is a legend. I believe the film was written by the brother of the guy who did In Bruges or something like that too.
  4. Ooh, that would be handy for a few games (although, with those clip-on triggers my DS3 isn't actually that bad). I was considering Alpha Protocol but even though it's cheap, I'd probably never play it anyway, and I've had my fill of espionage in DXHR. Since Arkham City has been delayed on PC I might grab Beyond Good & Evil HD using the 800MSP I got with Gears 3. Since I'm not sure exactly when Iron Brigade is actually coming out. That and it might not be a definite purchase. Otherwise there's Bastion...
  5. P much have to link this to your friends on their birthday
  6. Plus, you can't eat Steam copies. So hamburger wins.
  7. Had a busy day today, getting ready for my friend's wedding. As well as a haircut I got... - Loafers from Marks & Spencers £25. I needed some new smart shoes anyway and that's a good price - Shirt from Next. £30. The wedding is smart-casual but I needed a shirt that didn't look too work-like or too casual. It was tough finding something! Teal one here, if you need a picture: http://www.next.co.uk/x48404s5 - 110 Euros It was an expensive day.
  8. ME2 was 'streamlined' not dumbed down.
  9. I'd say it's worth playing. But I'd advise you use cheats for money, you don't want to fuck about with the hacking minigame and stuff. It's still enjoyable regardless. I did wind up using a combination of gamepad and mouse via Xpadder because the controls weren't as refined as ME2, and I'm terrible at left-hand keyboard stuff. (Thanks again to Dean for that tip).
  10. The wise guy thing is also sarcasm. I mean, you never say someone is a wise guy if they are wise, but of course it's the opposite if it's sarcasm.
  11. And it has checkpoints, not save anywhere (outside of battle)?
  12. Definitely gonna give this a go. Since the game's going free, I wouldn't be against buying some extra stuff, provided that I like it enough.
  13. I liked ACII but, yeah, I'm not exactly rushing to play Brotherhood. Not too excited for Revelations really, either.
  14. Gears of War 3. Some parts were a bit annoying because they were definitely designed with co-op in mind. Overall, good game though.
  15. "Cheese it!" "ROBOT HOOOOUSE!"
  16. Was thinking of some today, actually. Someone can 'get a right rollicking/bollocking' (being told off severely). Nippy can mean a couple of things. It can be for chilly weather or to describe someone or something that is quick and/or agile.
  17. I'm sure I linked it to you before, and you were going to link me yours when you were done. http://pressxordie.com/2011/01/20/leading-the-shepard/
  18. They're lucky I'm not a pirate, I guess? Although I could've bought a weapon skin for -1MSP (so, like, they give me a WHOLE MSP?!) That would've shown them!
  19. I didn't realise the tutorial section counts against it. Which is a little odd. I mean, what sort of security chief doesn't shoot guys who have broken in and are killing everyone? You're not infiltrating at that point, you are motherfucking defending yo shit. Not that it mattered in the end, I opened a can of whoopass at one point and also could not resist bursting through a few walls and snapping dudes' necks.
  20. Man, a lot of talking here. Unfortunately, I am wasted from shifting bricks around since 8:30 this morning (!) and had to skim a lot of it. It may sound like fanboyism but I think BioWare know their audience and write to them. I also like to think there is a separation between story and story-telling. Stories are easy to identify but the medium of games opens up the way they're told. I did write a whole massive article on ways Mass Effect could've been improved (mostly focusing on 2) but I think BioWare set out to tell a silly space opera story where you can pick and choose your favourite party members and romance whichever one you want (well, most of them) while going off to shoot the baddies and save the galaxy. It is pure empowerment and unashamedly so. I will say, I absolutely agree on the Deus Ex: Human Revolution conversation thing, DocSeuss. I loved that, although I have been reading that there seem to be many 'ways' through them (besides the augment for it). I would love to see a bit more of the conversational stuff from The Witcher 2 as well; where people are putting questions to you. Even if I can't recall whether what information you choose to reveal does affect anything I think that'd be an interesting element to include. And also, I think a lot of people get the impression you have some real beef with a lot of games, even if that's not the case. It's great that you're passionate about things and you're an educated guy, but I think a little tact helps. There's a way of making a point without making an enemy, that's all. Now to go collapse...
