Finished season one of Person of Interest. Really enjoyed it. The concept is really good, there's plenty of backstory, intrigue and conspiracy woven in and the interplay between the characters works really well. It's quite fun going into an episode, not knowing how things will shake out exactly, and they do a nice job of speedy exposition. Though, it can be pretty obvious when you're less than halfway through and the 'target' seems like a victim instead of a villain. That said, though, it tackles all sorts of interesting scenarios/people from an undercover cop to a spy to a subtle riff on Rear Window to four numbers at once. It did feel like they were burning through (back) story rather quickly, but it also meant none of the episodes really felt like filler, and only one or two fell a bit flat. Plus, I'm sure there's way more stuff to come, particularly since, early on, the show seems to imply that the machine has been 'missing' some crimes rather than them being plotholes (one later episode hinged around a baby, which made for a dramatic reveal, sure, but missed a massively pre-meditated murder beforehand). I guess we'll find out how they explain that...

I'm excited for the album because the last two EPs were pretty dang good, and you can tell they're free of record company pressure now (seriously, that has to be the only explanation for crap like She's Gonna Break Soon).

From what I understand, cats roam quite a bit. I know one of our cats used to visit a neighbour's house during the day when we were all out and then return when we did.

I'd only watch for Strahovski...even if her role looks like helpless damsel. I don't remember hearing about the detective angle, but I know the guy who wrote Underworld and such is the writer here (along with Stuart Beattie of Collateral, Pirates 1 and...GI Joe). The film's been delayed for over a year because of special effects (and likely clashing with films that people want to see) that I would drastically lower your expectations.

What the guy who put on passive mode probably didn't realise is that as soon as he opened fire on you, it deactivated and made him fair game too. Serves him right. Yeah, had a good session with W&S and friend yesterday. Started as the trio who go around in a helicopter and hold up convenience stores as well as chase bounties then tried some other missions and showed them the Crooked Cop job...though that wasn't great with just 3 of us. Had a funny little chase down the oncoming lane of the freeway though, me on a bike and the other trying to swerve through the chaos. Played a bit more today. Some prat in the middle of his own police chase decided to start firing on the SUV I was just on my way to sell and then contined pursuing me, so I got a bit of distance, swerved round, exited the vehicle and shot him through the windscreen. This then put me low on health as police also chased after me, but I ducked into an alley and found the same SUV again and made a clean escape. Ha ha. $5k in the bank. Did some more racing too. Won some more as well, though that catch-up on Route 68 can be a real bitch, and a lot of players seem to like to replay it even though the majority of people are rubbish at driving. Still undefeated on the Power Trip race too. Pretty cool that there are betting odds as well; nice to see yourself as a 2/1 favourite.

Whoops. Spent all afternoon doing races online. Had some pretty good results as well, usually 1st or 2nd, at least top 5 for some others. Some really fun routes and variations. One was a point-to-point with one team in fighter jets trying to blow up the guys in bikes (I got wiped out by some fucking NPC in an SUV who knocked me off, then rammed into me once I was back on my bike and turning!) and another was a rally where only the co-drivers can see the checkpoints. Had to quickly grab my headset but the driver must not have been using one so didn't hear me... Big problem with the regular races is that the catch-up mechanic is far too generous for 2nd and 3rd place, which means that races with long straights, particularly towards the finish line, screw over the leader. For example, the Route 68 race was run twice, I won the first one but spent the latter half going back and forth between 1st and 2nd with another guy because we both raced clean and were alongside one another. The second time, it stayed close for a long while, then I nabbed 1st after the two cars ahead got into a scrap and spun out...then during that long stretch some guy who was way back was allowed a massive boost and zoomed past me for the final couple of checkpoints, with me unable to do anything except make sure they didn't smash into me and spin me out as they tried to pass.

You can all be in the same crew across different consoles, but obviously there's no cross-platform play; you get bonuses whenever you complete jobs with crew members though, so worth getting at least a few. Hopefully will be able to play late tonight if folks who already have the game are interested. EDIT: Seen your request and invited you, Dean.

Now online stats are working on the social club, looking at my GTA Online funds, I find: Total earned: $24,714 Total spent: $12,802 Current amount of money: $965 Something doesn't add up... I know some dickhead killed me once when I came out of the clothing store, but that could only have been $5k max (and I don't think I even lost that much). And I've seen that IGN mentioned missing money as well. What are you playing at, Rockstar?!

madbassman, if you're just trying to get stuff done without getting griefed, hold Select/Back and the interaction menu comes up. From there you can buy Passive Mode for $100 and go about your business without others harrassing you. It stops you from being able to do more 'violent' things as well, but it's good if you're trying to shop, mod your car, etc. Also, the amount of money you (can) lose when you die depends on how much you're carrying; other plays killing you can nab your wallet (check your friend hasn't had an unexpected windfall...). You have to visit ATMs to bank your cash, and it's a good idea to do that regularly, since it's still available to spend when purchasing. I did see something about an option for limiting who can drive your vehicle, but I don't know if that applies to people stealing it like that.
