  1. Religious people who are for separation of Church and State are the kind of religious people I have absolutely no problem with.
  2. Yup. Separation of Church and State is a beautiful thing.
  3. Great use of all caps, nice post all around. 5 out of 5 falcon punches. On a side note: I don't really get the idea behind $1 stores (possibly because I'm a guy). Normally you would have everything from a certain category in one place, e.g. electronics, foodstuffs, toys, etc. It's easy for people to say "Hey, I need gadget/snack/toy. I know, I'll go to the electronics/grocery/toy store!" What is the $1 store for? "Hey, I need [something that probably costs around $1]. I know, I'll go to the $1 store!" And if they don't have it there, you can always try the $1.50 store. On topic: I'm a translator. I translate poorly written marketing text into illegible Dutch gibberish.
  4. I have my laptop on the coffee table. It's kind of distracting, but I love the trash-talking too much. I'll probably be playing again tonight around 21:00 local time (the same time we played this weekend). You guys are probably still at work around that time, right?
  5. The stars in the background go well with the... stars in the background... The ones on this forum, I mean.
  6. Too late, D-K already gave them that impression.
  7. Holy shit, this was suggested to me by YouTube, no doubt because of the other video I posted in this thread: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uxPwftS_H0 Look at this smooth motherfucker. I love how the girl tries to avoid all eye contact.
  8. My impression: I think it was awesome. I felt there were enough jokes on every page, something I don't even get from most big comic books (Nextwave is an exception to this, hence the comparison). How serious are you about getting this stuff out there? Self-publishing is always an option. It might be a good idea to put a bit of money aside and pay for a commission from an up-and-coming artist (or an industry pro, depending on how deep your pockets are). That way you won't have to worry about one of you losing interest in the project, as opposed to when you have someone working on your story for free. My brother-in-law did this a while back (didn't work out, but that was because of him), but I could ask him where he found artists if you're interested. It might seem like a bit of effort, but you'll really have something to show for all your effort (and money).
  9. Never mind, started reading it now. I'll comment as I go. (Page numbers correspond to the PDF, not the comic.) Page 1. Did you read Nextwave? Because you should. This seems to have a similar tone already, I like it. Page 2. "Channel 6 News"? Nice. Page 5. "(A thought occurs) Could you imagine them in be..." Not sure what this is supposed to refer to. Did I miss a brilliant joke? Page 7. Loving the 'monkey mob' conversation. It reads like a good Penny Arcade comic. Page 10. I see a missed op-pun-tunity here. Click spoiler tag if you care for my lame suggestion. Page 12. Loving the chase here. Are his pants still down? Because they should be. Page 21. This dialogue reads like a funny Seinfeld episode. Page 32. Where's the cliffhanger?!
  10. Which one should I read first? SuperZeroes?
  11. Dev, once you're done with FFIII and IV, I can also recommend FF: 4 Heroes of Light. It's not a remake, but it feels very old school, in a good way. It's a lot easier than FFIII and IV, though. Speaking of which, I never DID finish FFIV...
  12. I agree for the most part. He was the best character in a game full of terrible, terrible characters. I didn't feel there was any stereotyping going on, which was good. He was also the only character in that game that wasn't a drama queen... Oh, until he had that mental breakdown and almost killed Vanille (I kept pushing R2 to fire my gun but it didn't work). Yeah, I gave up on the story at that point. Terrible, terrible writing all around. In closing, I'll leave you with a gem I found on GameTrailers regarding FFXIII: "Ugh. Why does every game nowadays have to have a black person?"
  13. I enjoyed MGO, but Uncharted 2 is a lot more fun. The whole atmosphere is a lot more laid back, mostly because you can't go down a level like you can in MGO... :/ You don't get punished for anything you do, only rewarded. Definitely give it a try sometime when/if you get the game back.
  14. Pretty much the same as Lionel Richie there, except I do have work tomorrow. So... till 1:00-ish?
  15. OK, I might make a new thread for it so we can organize something. Any idea when your friend is getting it? Christmas, perhaps?
  16. I'd love to play again tonight (this afternoon for you Yanks), but I don't want to exclude D-K (or raine) from the fun again. I read in the other thread that there's not really a solution to this conundrum?
  17. If any of you want to get together for a game of UC2, hit me up! I love the multiplayer, despite the fact that the singleplayer is one of the most-- Never mind. I love the multiplayer.
  18. on a scale of 1 to 56, with 0 being creepy and 69 being super gay, this avatar scores a perfect 7.
  19. Hello, Blinus. That's your new name, btw.
  20. My excuse is this forum. It won't let me rest. You know that gun won't do you any good if you just stand still on rooftops all the time.
