  1. Damn it, so am I. The things we do for free virtual hats.
  2. I look forward to buying this used on the cheap in a year.
  3. You're right. They emit his verbal notes and placeholder messages later on. I've managed to sneak past or disable the remaining soldiers before the final confrontation with Jindosh, mostly using soringrazors and stealthily sniping them with the crossbow.
  4. I couldn't find any confirmation of this, but the clockwork soldiers sound uncannily like KOTOR's HK-47. I know the actor who voiced HK-47 voiced Hiram Burrows in Dishonored 1, but I could not find any information on whether he voices the clockwork soldiers in 2. Seems like he does, though. Just started the clockwork mansion as Emily and I am woefully unprepared to take out the soldiers stealthily, it seems.
  5. Steam ID and wishlist: http://steamcommunit...61197969619762/ My GOG name is MrGOH. No idea how to link to my profile or wishlist there. Origin ID to come. Copied and pasted from a previous year's post. New additions are at the beginning of each list. General Criteria: Mostly a PC gamer these days, though I do play console games. I have little time to dedicate to gaming these days, though I still love RPGs and Grand Strategy games. But if there's a game of a different genre that you think I might like for whatever reason, I happily try new types of games. That's what meant by general criteria, right? General Criteria: I do not have the time to put into multiplayer games these days, and I'm not really into sports games. No racing games, please. I also prefer well-crafted games with interesting narratives, whether they're AAA or indie games. Favorite genres: Western RPGs and single-player strategy games are at the top, but I also enjoy shooters with good gameplay, adventure games, roguelikes (whatever that means, I suppose), roguelites, platformers, imaginative puzzle games, simulations, and stealth games. Favorite Games: Witcher 3, XCOM 2, MGSV, Final Fantasy 6, Planescape: Torment, Baldur's Gate II, Victoria II, Warhammer: Total War, Vampire: The Masquerade, Assassin's Creed II/Brotherhood, Grand Theft Auto 4, Master of Orion 2, Knights of the Old Republic, Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout 2, Sim City 4, Civilization Series, Sam and Max Hit the Road, Dishonored 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, and Telltale Adventure games. I'll set up a GOG list. Happy to get GOG games. I'm not prejudiced against any inferior non-Steam and non-GOG proprietary digital download store. Totally chill with getting stuff not on my list.
  6. As I said in chat, this will be a dating simulator. A very weird dating simulator, to be fair.
  7. What? ME3 was never fixed. The ending was made slightly less bad, but ME3 failed to live up to the promise of the first two games. The Reapers were way less threatening and scary than they should have been, and the mystery behind their actions was dull. And the stupid endgame choice! Ugh. But I'll still be buying this near launch. They've hyped the new alien races, so it's odd they weren't in this trailer, but I'm not worried we'll only be facing Citadel races. I just hope the wildlife isn't the same across all the different planets. I hated that thresher maws seemed to be an interstellar race.

    Steam

*Steam displays thousands of shovelware games that support fractions of a player or that play themselves*
  9. Where's the new thread, Ethan?!?!?!?! I wanna post what I like and what I don't like and judge everyone else for their wishlists!
  10. Here's mine: https://goo.gl/OPd6WO It says I'm Action-Oriented, Proficient, Independent, Deeply Immersed, and Creative. I guess that's because I like just about every variation of general game style and play except MP, including cooperative MP. I also don't like or dislike cheevos or becoming the best at a given game and the survey didn't capture the fact that I don't have time to master a lot of gameplay types that focus on muscle memory and repetition.
  11. People still care about No Man's Sky?
  12. Very nice! I have a 750w power supply, which is way more than I need, because I remember the days when every new graphics card drew 100 watts more power.
  13. I get the distraction argument, but when it comes to Trump, it's like arguing that an arsonist set the garage on fire to district the fire department from the raging fire in the connected house.
  14. You voted for Brexit, Thursday?
  15. By the way, Eleven, what are your new rig's specs? Just curious.
  16. I think that's exactly the reason, Eleven.
  17. How were you able to hide the body below the dentist without being seen, Ethan? And were you playing as Emily or Corvo?
  18. Arrival is pretty good, but the novella is even better. Kubo and the Two Strings is pretty good, too. Loving is good as well.
  19. Save game issue resolved itself. I've finished the first two missions as Emily and it's pretty great so far. I was just wondering how critical it is to get every rune and bone charm. I haven't missed any, but getting the ones on the table in front of the Overseers' building was a real pain in the ass, especially since I'm doing a non-lethal play through. I've also found it difficult to avoid being seen a bunch, especially when bringing the corpse to the gangster in the dentist's basement. I may have just chosen non-optimal powers, though.
  20. I am a sucker for Batman games and Telltale games, so this was always gonna happen.
  21. I've encountered a baffling issue on PC. I started a game on my laptop while my PC was out of commission. I switched to my PC once it was fixed and used my steam cloud save and continued my play through for a an hour or so. Saved on my PC and quit out. When I wanted to play again, only my steam cloud saves are listed in the game. My save folder contains the new saves, but the game doesn't seem to register them. This is horribly frustrating because I'm afraid any new saves on my desktop will fail to load. Otherwise, it runs very nicely on ultra on my desktop.
  22. It's amazing how much faster my system feels with a new CPU and more RAM. No effect on gaming, so far, but Windows 10 is far snappier after my recent upgrade.

Mine is also feeling much snappier, but I'm not sure how much of that is the upgrade and how much is that I did a clean install of Windows.

Since my hard drives were fine, I did not do a clean install.

I didn't plan to. Since I wasn't sure that Windows would let me just plug my HDD into the new board (esp since I was jumping from AMD to Intel) I did a sysprep, but that got caught in a loop on the new board so I had to do a clean install.

  23. Nope. But I had some anyway. ☺ Edit And now my rebuild is complete. In the process I've discovered my DVD drive is borked, mechanically. No big deal, I'll get a cheap replacement when I see a good sale. The new CPU is noticeably faster. I remember the days when this rebuild would have taken hours. AS it was, the most time-consuming part was learning the ins and outs of the new case.
  24. Just picked mine up! Then I realized I have no thermal paste and no time to run out and get some. Stupid holidays.
  25. Trump is a national disgrace and makes me ashamed for my country. I just hope the moderates and the left can mount a resistance.
