Games You've Beat 2021 - PXoD's Excellent Adventure
MetalCaveman replied to MetalCaveman's topic in General Gaming Chat
Only knowledge I had of MM was Spider-Verse so yeah, it was cool to see the differences. -
Aristoteles Sandoval, former governor of Jalisco was murdered inside a bar last month, his 15-person security detail wasn't much good, back then authorities talked about how the people working there had cleaned the place before they arrived, recently, the videos were found and shared on the news. After his murder, everyone, waiters, bartenders, manager, everyone, proceeds to clean and remove any evidence, a carpet that covered an entire hallway was removed and disposed of, you know that scene in John Wick, when the dudes go in and clean after the attack on his house? Like that, so far only 4 people have been arrested, laughable considering you can see at least 12 on the videos. Also on December, there was a blackout that left 10 million people across different states without electricity for several hours, the cause? According the CFE and the government, a fire that burned some power lines, oh and renewable energies, right, they blamed this mostly on the fact that renewable energy sources were creating so much electricity it overloaded the system. Recently, CFE came out and admitted the document they showed back then, about the fire, was forged, there was no investigation and while there was indeed a fire, there seems to be no evidence that it played a role on the blackout, instead, they once again blamed renewable energy sources and have declared that multiple plants that generated energy using renewable sources will be shut down in order to prevent this from happening again, coal and gas plants will continue as normal.

Here's how I am starting my year. Spider-Man Miles Morales The way they simplified it, reducing the amount of currencies, gadgets and skills, with a much more clean skill tree was a welcome change. Miles is also a much more fun character, I understand why, and maybe Miles will have to deal with the same stuff later on, but for now, it's pretty cool to see how he handles being Spider-Man and how he handles his normal life.

DOOM 64 This year was such than when I was looking at this thread, compiling the list, I was sure I had beaten some of these games years ago, nah, these were all from 2020. Way better than I thought, and a nice mix of backlog and new games. \m/ \m/

DOOM 64 Probably the last game I'll finish this year, it's fun, but it also has way too many puzzles and puzzle-like stuff, on other games I wouldn't mind it, but playing DOOM and being stuck trying to figure out what switch does what and where is weird. It's not that they're complicated, just that compared to DOOM and DOOM2 there's a lot of them or at least it feels that way. I also did a lot of that thing where you find the door before you have the right key, and then when you get the key you can't find the door, so that was fun.

Spider-Man Remastered It was really fun, then it got a bit annoying, then went back to fun. I do feel like there's a bit too much stuff, specially the last part The DLCs were pretty cool too, though I didn't bother to 100% them, couldn't be bothered by then, I have 100% on base game, 93% on first DLC and less than 30% in the other too. It was also pretty brutal, maybe I'm remembering wrong, but I don't think any other Spider-Man game has been this dark in certain parts. Speaking of dark, the second half of the story and the end hit hard, due to all the stuff going on. Senran Kagura Peach Ball Like Reflexions, a funny, silly spin-off that has no bearing on the main story and shouldn't be taken seriously. A really fun pinball game, there's a table that has a bunch of minigames that pop up if you complete certain tasks, like getting a certain amount of points, gathering items that appear, or hitting a target a bunch of times. There's also a ton of missions (use certain items, activate special abilities, hit a target, etc) to complete if you're into that. Beyond that, each of the girls has their own story, but they all boil down to the same, Haruka has been up to no good and creates a potion that turns people into animals, the SK version of turning people into animals, so now you, the pinball wizard is the only one that can bring them back. Each story chapter has it's own special objectives, usually just hit a certain amount of points, activate certain items, stuff like that. Completing them unlocks accessories, table backgrounds, music and other balls you can use. It also has the best credits sequence in any game ever, but I'll leave that up to you if you want to look it up. Apparently Takaki is now at Cygames, so I guess that means we can confirm that SK and Kandagawa Jet Girls are toast. At least the memories will remain.

Yeah, same, I'm having fun when I play it, but it's crashed six times, and that's just today, much as I hate to do so I'm just going to put this on hold for now, maybe start Miles Morales or go back to The Old Hunters. From what I was able to play though, it's REALLY fun, hopefully they fix it, I mean, if Ubisoft was able to turn Breakpoint, from what it started to what it is now, I have hope in CDPR to get their shit together and make this something closer to what it should be. Or as close as they can get, all things considered.

I've experienced 4 crashes so far, first time was in the middle of the city, just walking around, then while riding around a different area, then trying to get to my apartment, and the most recent one during a side mission, crashed hard enough that my PS5 shut down too. Bugs and other issues aside, I've been having fun so far. \m/ \m/

*Prays* Started playing on PS5 last night, looks pretty good, though I've already run into some bugs, at least they're of the "this is really funny" kind.
-
From the creator of Dead Space, The Callisto Protocol, looks fucking awesome, but I'm trying to contain my hype until gameplay is revealed.
-
From what I've seen, performance issues that take it firmly into the "literally unplayable" territory, textures not being there, framerate in the low double, sometimes single digits, other assorted performance issues and that, coupled with the other issues present in all versions seems to have been enough. Could also be related to marketing, and reviews, with reviewers not being sent any review copies for the console versions and interviews stating that it would run pretty well on those systems. I'm glad I'll be playing it on PS5, seems to work mostly well there, aside from the normal open world jankiness that's present in every other game of this kind.
-
Well, this is a thing: https://www.playstation.com/en-us/cyberpunk-2077-refunds/ Sony is removing the game from the PS Store and offering refunds. I assume MS is next, probably. Console version is/was/will be such a big mess that I wonder if they wouldn't have been better off just cancelling it altogether.

Game of the Year What is there to say? DOOM 2016 was awesome, one of my favourites, and then ETERNAL took everything from it and cranked it to 11, more brutal, more demons, more moves with which to brutally kill said demons, MORE, it's unrelenting in ways few games can pull off without being frustrating. It's adrenaline-pumping, metal as hell, and everything that's badass contained in one single package. It's DOOM and it's ETERNAL. Runner-up Going back to Boletaria was awesome, the graphics look way better than I could have expected and it runs pretty damn well, specially areas that were hell back in the PS3 days. While I'm not too big a fan of some design decisions, everything else is Demon's Souls, and that's all I need. Most Potential Yes it has some issues, mostly in terms of difficulty, and feels lacking in content, but the core gameplay is still pretty fun, and I would really like to see where they take this series, should they decide to continue with it.

Spider-Man Remastered

This looks really fun, from the same writer of John Wick, "only in theaters" though, so that's going to be a thing.
-
There's still improvements and changes that could make this better, but for this year I'm done.

Well, now there's discussions on a new series of reforms and laws to restrict and/or prevent the presence of DEA/FBI agents in Mexico, on one hand, good, they ain't got no reason to be doing whatever they want on other countries, on the other hand, this has nothing to do with that, and everything to do with Cienfuegos being arrested. I wonder (and I don't know how likely it is) if Biden would be up for bringing the whole "Cartels as terrorists organizations" thing back.

https://latinus.us/2020/12/07/otorgan-suspension-definitiva-obras-tramo-dos-tren-maya/ Communities in Campeche have obtained a suspension for the Mayan Train, claiming it violates a right to a healthy environment, as it would destroy the jungle and cause damage to the entire ecosystem, among the people who worked to get this done are several indigenous communities, you know, the Mayas, who don't want the Mayan train to be built in their land. I can see the president tomorrow, in his press conference "These bourgeois Mayas, they are associated with the neoliberal conspiracy, they want to stand in the way of progress, but our fourth transformation won't be stopped."

Wanted to play on PC, but it's clear I won't be able to upgrade my system any time soon, so got it on PS4. -

Hyrule Warriors had a launch discount, on top of existing offers, the other 2 were the cheapest I've seen them for, well, "cheapest" by Nintendo standards, but still. -
