  1. Watching a movie with my mother is nearly unbearable since EVERYTHING is followed with a question. I tell her, if the movie is good, it will ANSWER those questions, so be patient!

      「Advent Chaos」

It seems like most parents have the need for this :s You wouldn't want to see my mother when she's watching a soccer, jesus christ man

    2. Pirandello

      Pirandello

I usually make it clear that when I'm watching a movie, answering questions is probably my lowest priority.

Saves me a lot of trouble.

My mom likes to watch movies based on books and point out all the things that happened that weren't in the book.

  2. I got the August issue of PlayStation magazine since I flew on a trip with nearly no entertainment. There was a good Catherine article and it has renewed my interest in the game.

      Saturnine Tenshi

All the Catherine coverage is what turned me away. Cloying. So much for the Japanese release then a month later the exact same news for the English release.

Ah, the things you'll learn when forced to travel with no entertainment.

Am I right, or am I right?

  3. Nintendo is probably use to it since they were probably financially sound until Microsoft entered the foray of the gaming industry with the Xbox. Nintendo was ruling and challenging Sega almost two decades ago, Sony came along in the middle of the 90's while Sega slightly lost grip in the industry. It was probably in the course of the GameCube that Nintendo realized how serious the industry evolved where they had both Sony and Microsoft to compete against. Microsoft is still in it and has changed the face of gaming with its first party exclusives. Still, this is all theorizing, but I can see why Nintendo [of America] is cautious. Op Rainfall could simply be a vocal minority, a.k.a. the niche group. EDIT: Though, yes, the Wii did make them tons of money. I do like motion controls, or at least the proper concepts to them, but you could still say Nintendo got rich off a gimmick and lightning rarely strikes the same spot twice.
  4. RailShock I wouldn't be surprised if that flying enemy has to be defeated in the air while traversing the rail system or whatever it's called. I think the demo would have been longer than 15 minutes if the average joe was playing because from the looks of it, you had to know where those tracks/rails were leading to.
  5. Lost in the assassin game I was playing. I swear, the one guy who was the weirdest and ALWAYS around me wasn't my killer, but the ONE person I let my guard down to was my killer. If I hadn't believed the other was my killer, I would have got my victim easier. Seriously, he was on me like white on rice!

Let me add, FOUR times I came close to getting my victim. One I could have walked up to her and got her, but my supposed killer was right to her too!

      man that multiplayer sounds awesome!

  6. I think the better comparison is Nine to Five, where while the three want to murder their bosses, they're being idiots about it. I listened to Spill's audio review and they loved it. Oddly enough, there was mention of how it reminded one of them of Office Space.
  7. I think as far as the design, it's a highly stylized/animated perception of our world. Something along the lines of a cartoon, if you will. Anything inorganic is very realistic, whereas organic material can be exaggerated. People have pointed out Elizabeth's eyes and how they can become very wide, such as when she is scared. What you pointed out could be one of those exaggerations, though I do know women a whole foot shorter than me, and really, the ratio between specific "parts" can be a bit surreal.
  8. I actually didn't get to catch the demo on television, but the videos are on GameTrailers. Spoilers, so tread carefully. Spoiler #1 Spoiler #2
  9. I really want to see Horrible Bosses. I don't know why I have this "urge" to see it, but I think it's because I haven't seen a comedy in theaters for a long while. Seems like the type of movie a few friends can enjoy together. That and Jennifer Aniston is hot.
  10. I've got to assassinate a few people, and I've got the perfect weapon: a rubber band gun.

You may want to enlist the help of a paper clip.

  11. Article I'm sure a lot of you don't particularly care for IGN, but sometimes they have a good article or two which brings up some good points. This time, localization and how Nintendo of Europe has surpassed Nintendo of America. It was something like a little over a decade ago that you could say with utmost accuracy: North America gets its games before European countries. However, from that point on to now, Europe is getting games either days or months before NA. Still, it's only a few days. What I think is most notable (and the discussion of this topic) are the games North America is NOT receiving, and in fact, may NEVER be available! I say this because Nintendo of America has stated they have no plans to bring The Last Story, Xenoblade Chronicles, and Pandora's Tower. Europe on the other hand will receive these titles and will even get some cool special editions. So talk about this, the changing trends, or really just how much NOA has lagged behind in recent years.
  12. In case people didn't want to see, but on the cover of EGM, it's our first glimpse of Booker (protagonist) from BioShock Infinite. I'll also stay up for the 15 minute demo on GT TV on Spike tonight.
  13. It has been my opinion that Kotaku doesn't necessarily like to hear its users, unless it happens to be a short and sweet ass kissing remark. I haven't visited Kotaku in a long time, but I still remember certain events. I wasn't around for the genocide that took place, but every attempt to "better" themselves has, in my opinion, been face value. The "cornfield" was, as I remember it, a simpler way of throwing out comments. It may have had some genuine purpose, but online communities and moderators are not made of saints. If I can theorize, I think with the case of Dean and a few others, some (maybe most) of the staff just didn't care for having some members having dedication and commitment to the community. Like I said, I think they've always wanted talking heads who chattered with a few others and nothing more. After all, if Owen was telling Dean he was "dictating," that really could be translated to "criticism." "Ugh, who's this kid to tell me what to write? It's our blog and we'll do what we think is best! If it doesn't work out, we'll pull something out of our ass and I'm sure things will get better." Real shame because Kotaku use to be something significant.
  14. Had a friend on Facebook post a picture of her trashed up foot after a beach accident. Not the most pleasant thing to first see on the News Feed.

  15. Girl shows interest, wants to talk. I talk to girl, girl barely talks at all. Women, what they mean isn't what they're saying. :L

Maybe midway into your conversation, she realized that you weren't interesting?

More importantly, seeing as she barely spoke, YOU should realize that she is in fact not interesting, and give her das boot.

  16. I was exhausted throughout the whole evening, so I figure I can sleep through the night. One hour and I've woken up with no sign of getting back to sleep.

      Damn those REM cycles.

  17. Ever since Friday, the Nigel Thornberry memes have been rolling in. Probably the best still...
  18. So I don't get a trophy in Vanquish because I didn't go from Act 1 Mission 1 to the end, but instead began, did other trophies, and picked up through Mission Select. BLARGH THAT'S STUPID!

  19. Cars 2 had a problem with Mater, but I think he wasn't that bad in the first. He was that kind of simpleton that helped McQueen have fun in the little things. Because he's a goof, it made him more popular with children, and since Cars is most popular with children... Mater became the main protagonist in Cars 2. Sure I'm barely a fan of Larry the Cable Guy, especially those horrendous films of his, but I never really associated Mater with him in the first. Cars 2, it might as well be "Larry the Cable Guy: Ready for Two Hours?"
  20. I got Super Meat Boy during the Summer Sale on Steam yesterday. I like how the game describes how a controller might be necessary, much like a shower.
  21. I don't hate the GameCube controller, and I think it's actually pretty good. The D-Pad is useless, and the C-Stick was wonky for some games. Z button was a little weird too, but otherwise it was a nice controller.
  22. I dunno, I kinda like the characters talking out loud rather than there being silence and a line of white text describing your next action. (Anything to hear all the BTAS voices. )
  23. You guys have downloaded Vol. 2 of Portal 2's soundtrack, right?
