  1. Alright, I finally found a good description on how to earn each ending. http://www.ign.com/wikis/catherine/Endings So even if you have Extreme Blue or Extreme Pink, depending on how you answer the Stage 9 questions is what determines the variation (Bad, Normal, True). The Freedom endings don't sound that difficult now since all you have to do is act like a dick to everyone. What I suggest is playing the game again, but create a separate save file for when you're at the Stray Sheep before heading to Stage 9. I did that my first time so I could go back and earn Gold trophies for all the stages and play Rapunzel.
  2. One of my neighbors got a new Xbox 360 because their friend did the whole "PC+360" deal yet didn't want the 360. I wish I had friends that would sell me a brand new 360 for dirt cheap. :'(

Wait how cheap did your neighbor get it for?

Didn't ask, but he did say cheap. Since it's the 4GB, cheap compared to $200 must be really low.

  3. When I saw that, it was titled "If Harry Potter were a Teen Comedy."
  4. Protip: 1) Respond to dispatch, 2) get out of car, and 3) have partner drive, a.k.a. insta-location. Everything else is opinion, so no need to discuss further. Just thought I would point out your self-abuse.
  5. You know, there's no shame in using Undo. I was wrong about it hindering your chances for a Gold. In fact, if you don't use Undo during the last few floors, you'll become frustrated. Seriously, I felt my brain melt from the lack of progress I was making once. The key to getting a Gold is reaching a certain point/coin range. For the most part, doing a Perfect climb of the floor's puzzle will get you a Gold. However, that means once you've figured out the entire puzzle, you'll have to start at the beginning to have the maximum step combo. As I said though, "for the most part." You'll also have to collect most of the coin piles littered across the floor's puzzle. If you're sure you're going to receive the True Lovers ending like I did, you'll learn everything about Erica. Truthfully, once you know, all the hints throughout the game become obvious.
  6. Figure I'll put my status of defeating Catherine in the thread too. Last night, on Normal difficulty I received the True Lovers ending. It was my "honest" run, so I was answering all the questions as if there wasn't an ulterior motive behind it all.
  7. In hindsight, I really like the very last floor boss in the game. The previous floor's boss was a cheap bastard who would destroy valuable blocks multiple times. Undo would rectify that ordeal, but it was so tedious to have to protect your block structure. However, the final boss, while difficult at first, turned into a mad dash to the end with cursed blocks as the only obstacle. I'll have to look up how to get all the different endings because I'm pretty sure that the True Lovers ending (which I got) is max Order while True Cheaters ending is max Freedom.
  8. Beat Catherine on my first run, a.k.a "honest" run. I feel so satisfied, but I wish someone else would finish too so we could go on about spoilers. :3

  9. Beat it! Freaking final boss battle can suck it! Did a perfect run, though the previous floor I just wanted to finish, so while I was reduced to a Bronze on that floor, I worked it back up to a Silver. One of the floors of the final stage just confused me to hell, so while I first had a Gold, it went south. Still, I got a Silver in the end. I don't want to talk about it too much, but really this game lasted me about 16 hours. The last time I saved it said "13:30," but I know from the times I would but the game down after trying to conquer a puzzle, it added a little more. Oh, and don't forget about the multiple endings and unlockables! Really, worth the $60 if you ask me, even if the occasional (surprise (you'll see later on)) trap block would ruin a perfect ruin, thus causing myself to murmur "fuck" a dozen times. Again, if anyone wants multiple endings, try doing yourself a favor and doing those on Easy.
  10. I wish I had my old roommates. One of the current ones might be gone, but Crazy is freaking me out. I know he can't help it, but he's talking in his sleep right now!

Record him, upload to youtube, become famous, whore out silly merchandise. BAM school paid for right there.

  11. See, I've been telling people that "Cowboys & Aliens" only seems ridiculous because of the title. Alien invasion, and etc, are always set in the present day. This time it's an earlier time of Earth's history. It's not like we're going to see a cast of spaghetti western cowboys have a showdown with a bunch of little green men.
  12. I didn't need any help with Stage 5. The common way of death is forgetting the properties of the ice blocks. Also, this game will probably run you at most 12 hours. Assuming you stick with some of the trial and error of the puzzles, rather than quit and come back another time, it lasts much longer than what "Play Time" says. After all, I'm about to finish with 10:27, but I know it's more likely 13 hours of real time because of the time spent fiddling around with specific portions of blocks at certain floors. Spoiler up ahead, but a perfect example of time spent during Catherine would be:
  13. Only mobile games I've played for hours are Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, and Angry Birds Rio. Cut the Rope was fun for a while and I never got the full version of Fruit Ninja. I've never tried Words with Friends or whatever it's called either.
  14. After work tonight, I'll be facing the final stage. I guess I shouldn't spoil anything, but basically, you won't see it coming. Well, maybe in the ending I'm getting, so maybe there are more things that will totally blow your mind!
  15. Who is shocked. I think the shock here is that they're able to slice of $80 from the price. Cos that's either pushing them into the their first time ever of selling at a loss, or they waaay over priced it. It's probably both. Maybe it wasn't too overpriced, but they surely were selling the 3DS at a profit. Now that it has gone down, it's probably at a loss now.
  16. I used the map quite a bit. Planning out the route, though there were a few times I had my partner give out directions. I know I've said this elsewhere, but though it's not a game that would normally interest me, it's still very impressive and definitely a fantastic game. Sometime the "Doubt or Lie" dilemma was a bit of a coin toss, and Cole does come off bi-polar, but I liked the unique cases and wide variety of suspects. Since I was lead to the site earlier today, here's L.A. Noire in Real Life: http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/a4fd788ce7/real-life-l-a-noire?rel=by_user
  17. Blugh, I'm finally on the Stage 7 boss. I'm proud of myself for figuring out Stage 7-4 by... myself! Yet, there was a section in Stage 7-5 (Boss) where I had to look up another video. It turns out I was moving one wrong block. Maybe it's different in Easy, but an interview said there would be multiple ways of climbing, yet a lot of these puzzles seem to only have one or two ways. It's possible it was meant that some block formation lead to the same result, but right now you need to know the exact method to get halfway. I watched a little more and I believe I can handle it. It's not really a spoiler, but the Stage 7 boss doesn't really attack you that much. Unlike the Stage 6 boss which was a pain all around!
  18. While the puzzles melt my brain, the story to Catherine is very intriguing.

  19. Yes, a full three bottles means you move the fastest possible. It's not too hard and you'll get trophies/achievements if you get all the trivia on the specific drink. I think the limit for Retries is 99 because I've been varying between 84 to 99 Retries. I'm at Stage 7 Floor 2 (7-2). I don't like looking at YouTube videos, but every now and then I become stuck at one section, and personally I don't like constantly retrying (even if I have 99) for 40 minutes to make no progress. Stage 7-2 can be done in two minutes, but before I saw a video of it, I had already spent 20 minutes just to get halfway. I wish more "X-Talkers" were playing Catherine. I want to know what people have been doing! Honestly, I thought there would be more to the game, but you play puzzles, and when you're not you're in a bar talking to people. You really can't spend too much time in the bar and the Rapunzel game doesn't hold my interest. EDIT: Well, there still is Babel which I haven't tried yet. I think if I try for all the endings, I'm going through it all on Easy. I'm not going to attempt Hard unless I magically gain the gift of the gods to move blocks.
  20. http://www.funnyordi...nder?rel=player Great commentary on the melodrama of the Netflix price increase. Very ending probably has a lot of truth as well if there are any Internet savvy individuals so devastated by this "tragedy." EDIT: Is it possible to embed videos?
  21. Now I'm glad my work was being stingy with weekly hours during the summer. Saved me $80! I want one for Ocarina of Time 3DS (of course) and for when Majora's Mask 3DS comes out too. There are a few original games I want too, but when it comes to handhelds, I usually pace myself. However, I usually forget about the handheld. I haven't exactly been giving my DS Lite any love, even though there have been games like Okamiden and Golden Sun.
  22. I stayed up late trying to get through Catherine. It's primarily puzzles, so whether I like it or not, my brain needs a break. Stage 6-2, curse you!

I think I left around stage 2-2? I Loved the results to "Are you a pervert?"

What did it say? I answered that, but that's the first question where I realized that the question actually change, so I restarted to see if I would get it again. I got another one, forgot which one, but really, I've answered more questions than the game really says. "The sixth question!" Pfft!

HEY! You (sorta) cheated :P It had at least 25% more perverts than it didn't. I just reached Stage 6-2. :<

  23. RETARDED SLOTH HAS LEFT THE BUILDING! Here I thought today would be kinda crappy. :D

  24. I feel slightly embarrassed, but I had to look at a YouTube video for Stage 4. Remember, you'll have to use a lot of the techniques the sheep teach you. Seriously, I forgot you could slide a row of blocks and it made it near impossible to get to the near top of Stage 4-1. I'll have to redo the bar scene again though. Might be for the best because I didn't realize that a "......." response to one of Katherine's calls was the nice option compared to "I was surprised." Not that I'm earnestly trying for an "All Good" run, but really, who's going to understand the impact of ".........."
  25. Gotta say, it's easy to screw yourself over during the puzzles. Good thing you get quite a bit of Retries. Still, I'm getting quite a lot of silver trophies. I got a bronze in the Torture Chamber because, I believe, using Undo reduces your score. I had used it at least three times.
