  1. I still remember an episode where he pretty much burnt off one of his eyebrows and some of his hair, and the unfortunate fact was that he had a date that night too.
  2. I actually agree with this too. The t-shirt is kinda lame since it's a game's reference to another game. I wouldn't use the pillowcase, but the boxers I could maybe use. So yeah, not really worth an extra $20 for some boxers. Anyone who pre-ordered gets the two best things anyway: the soundtrack and artwork book!
  3. EDIT: Wow, I'm going to have to get use to the new post/edit format. Anyway, I didn't realize I had taken such a large photo. Maybe that's the cause for the "fatal error" message when I tried to add it to my new album. EDIT2: I don't know why, but the image won't display properly. I just signed up for Dropbox, and it is possible to link an image from your gallery, right? Either way, I've put it on Photobucket for the time being...
  4. I'm trying to upload a picture in an album I just created. It gives me a fatal error each time I try to upload.

  5. Crap, the area got a weather warning signal on the television. There's definitely a storm coming and so I hope the frickin' UPS guy can get here!

  6. Maybe this is all like Inception: the more we go deeper, the more fancy the forum becomes!

Nah this is totally it for updates and domain changes for a long while. The forum is properly moored finally, and the updates only hit like once a year or so.

  7. True, I agree with your reasoning Phallus, but at the same time we've merely focused on a single quote. In context, it's not one aimed for a general audience, but by the words "this nation" is appears to target the American people. Again, it's one quote so no one should feel alienated. What you've said about Western ideals, perhaps that quote was there to remind the targeted audience of such ideals. I personally I like it because while we do have freedoms, there is pressure from authority figures and media that exclaim, "No, how dare you think such nonsense!" Yes, there are frightening ideas and opinions in the world. Very much so do liberties also breed pain. Still, would we rather have no freedom out of fear of extremism? That would be the logic of a megalomaniac, one who's rein would create "peace" by forcible cooperation. And much like my statement of "mild interest" (since I'm aware there are other opinions), it's a comic book quote riddled with hyperbole. Of course the entire world isn't going to be in conflict with you, but what will you do when a mass of opposition conflicts you? Sure you could ignore the press, even a politician and you've avoid the mob; a majority still exists and it exists through the people.
  8. It's such an easily subverted principle. Suicide bombers are standing up for what they believe in. Dictators stand up for what they believe in. If everyone stands up for what they believe in with no possibility of being swayed, then the whole world will end in conflict. How's about this for a belief, I believe that Captain America is the second crappest super hero ever. I believe that I would rather see a super hero film about the Green Cross Code Man than Captain America. You can believe that, even if it is bullheaded. Of course, who said there wasn't an opportunity for reason and debate. It's peer pressure if anything. For example, you're not giving up into believing the idea that you're the only one wrong while everyone else has a mild interest for the character. You're standing firm and trying to assert an opinion that bares more resemblance to extremism with how you derive nationalism and totalitarianism from a single quote. Really, who would have guessed ideals like "freedom of speech" could be such double-edged swords, or should I say "easily subverted principles."
  9. Huh? By no one, I mean "Not one of his fans." take the below quote: "Doesn't matter what the press says. Doesn't matter what the politicians or the mobs say. Doesn't matter if the whole country decides that something wrong is something right. This nation was founded on one principle above all else: the requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or the consequences. When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world — 'No, you move.'" Basically boils down to: "Captain America is always right. Everyone else can go to hell." How about, if the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, you ought to reassess your situation rather than trying to blindly impose your beliefs on everyone else? That statement from the Cap pretty much sums up the "world police" perception of America, it's not a good thing. Where are you pulling this from? How about it being a personal speech to the common man to uphold their personal beliefs even when under the pressure of the press, the politicians or the mob. That a country could be the one who is wrong, but do you fall under pressure from the vast majority? That the principle is to stand for your freedom, for your speech and for your life. No matter the odds or consequences.
  10. When tracking my package, I saw "Ontario CA." At first I couldn't believe my copy of Catherine would be coming from Canada, but now I know there's a city in California named Ontario. THE MORE YOU KNOW!

  11. Haters gonna hate. The only thing "America, Fuck Yeah!" about Captain America is his name "Captain America." His own personal squad in the film is made up of every color and Allied Force. He doesn't go around yelling, "I gotta kill me some Nazis!" Instead, his reasoning is that he wants to fight bullies and it doesn't matter who or where they're from. In the film, he's not afraid to do what's right. Hell, he went on a solo stealth mission to free prisoners. Ah hell, who am I kidding? I could go on, but I swear if there was even a shred of "America ain't bad" coming out of Captain America's lips, people would go fanatical about "OMG, AMERICA BIAS!" Seriously, watch the damn film sometime soon because the only thing "perfect" about Captain America is perhaps his white teeth. I can think of a certain moment in the film right now involving a blonde slut and a desk where he totally drops the bomb.
  12. I began watching Samurai 7 two night ago on Netflix. I'm on episode 11 now, but man, the editing in episode 10 got kinda funky. Hard to explain, but either way I'm enjoying it.
  13. Just got a notification email that my copy of Catherine has shipped!

huh. Not that it really matters now that my PS3 died and I don't know when I'll be able to get it fixed now.

  14. Well here at least it's primary school education... You'd be surprised how much one can forget when they don't apply any of their early education in adulthood.
  15. Good find, especially the whole "Reality is Unrealistic" bit. I don't know how common the knowledge that sound itself is vibration, so really it's probably not going to be bothersome to the average viewer.
  16. I hope those hotdogs from last night didn't have too many parasites. :X

    1. Mr. GOH!

      Mr. GOH!

Or at least good parasites, amirite?

  17. Perhaps it's mostly vibration proof as in it greatly reduces the vibration that bullets impacting a metal shield would cause. Still, it's a minor bump in the road and a lot of superhero lore has this kinda "roll with it" logic. I mean even some of the gadgets Batman uses are a stretch. EDIT: I think I'll add my ideas on two plot holes I found in the film.
  18. Cap'n 'Merica! Really, it was awesome. I'm definitely going to look forward to the Blu-ray. Unlike Thor, there was a good spread of action. Tommy Lee Jones was one of my favorite characters, and really there weren't any bad characters. Even Stan Lee's appearance was funny and added to the scene.
  19. I'm going to say it bluntly. Stop pussyfooting around this issue. He's clearly ignoring you, and he sees that you're too much of a pussy to do anything about it, so he keeps doing it. He's learned that you're all talk and no walk, and I'm willing to bet he never made any plans to leave in the first place because you have absolutely no inertia behind your demands. Bring it up with the landlord, bring him/her in, SHOW HIM/HER THE ROOM. If you won't do anything to get rid of him, it's only logical that he's going to stay. No, see we have done many things about it. It's, in fact, the reason why he is leaving. He's the one pussyfooting and we've shown him how so. I've said it before, but this is a guy that no matter how many times you tell him one thing or another, he gives you a face and an excuse. He's also the kinda guy that when pushed, even a little, he goes crying (no, really crying) to the landlord or his mother about being "attack." I believe I mentioned the marshmallow incident in a status update, but to recap, he whined about a marshmallow in his food. After a little more pushing tonight, the "excuse" this time is that he's moving "little by little." We know that it's because he's a sloth; a retarded sloth. There's not much that can be done because 1) his contract is valid until Aug 13, 2) he's technically moving, and 3) the landlord doesn't really care at this point since there's about three weeks left on all our contracts. I really wanted to spend the last few weeks of break in peace.
  20. Retarded Sloth is such a putz. HE HASN'T LEFT! He's still hanging around, doing who knows what in his room for hours on end, and then leaving for the night. What's worse is that he's making an even worse mess than ever. It's not packing up or moving, it's going around and tossing garbage everywhere! He won't talk to either me or The Crazy, which makes perfect sense, but he will talk to... I'll call him "DK." He's the fourth roommate and he's hardly intimidating, which probably makes Retarded Sloth feel safe from the "big, bad and monstrous Atomsk!" Yeah, because telling him to pick up garbage he left in the bathroom is cruel. DK is away for the weekend, doing something I'm not entirely aware of and probably wouldn't care about, but he's helpful when it comes to understanding what the hell is going on in Retarded Sloth's brain. I mean, he said to all of us he was leaving Friday (yesterday), but Retarded Sloth came over and proceeded to do what he has always done: ANNOY!
  21. I'm finally taking a whack at WipeOut HD + Fury. I'm getting the hang of it, but I'm still playing on Novice. Might bump it up if I keep getting Golds.
  22. Tonight I get to watch Captain America with the family. I haven't been to the theater in a while, at least it feels like it.
