  1. I do... -ish. All I remember is that once you get to Traverse Town, you get a few small enemies and the game doesn't pick up until you've defeated the Guard Armor boss. Or maybe then you have to deal with the Gummi Ship, and then it picks up.
  2. Huh, and here I was surprised that sellers (online) reduced their price for the PS Vita bundle. Thinking to myself if I was ever in the market for one again, they became more affordable. Now I see this and I'm wondering if this is why, and even if not, I think I'd rather go for this version instead.
  3. I don't really follow Penny Arcade outside of seeing what the comic is for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Extra Credits is on PATV, but Dan & Co. are they're own thing. I saw the pre-order bonus stuff for Infamous: Second Son yesterday, which isn't so exciting, but there could be so much worse. I don't understand how that would be supporting Penny Arcade though, especially when you have three other jackets. Sure the content is still there, but it's not actively going to PA. My assumption is that Sucker Punch, or whoever, already commissioned the artwork and people are already paid, thus support has ended.
  4. I'm kinda liking that new Vita. Sure the screen is a downgrade, but the internal storage, even only 1GB, means that I won't be assed to buy an expensive proprietary memory card at the same time to last me.

So say I buy the redesign for $190, buy a physical Vita game, and maybe two or four weeks later I blow what will probably be over $100 for the 64GB memory card.

a.k.a. I use money for other things, not just games.

  5. Oh, so hey, I got that Killer is Dead game and beat it. Honestly, what the game comes down to is, "Do I like Suda 51's style?" If not, this is going to be one of those average games because the story just barely makes sense and the characters are either annoying or one-dimensional. You're going to get more personality out of the victims and villains, which isn't necessarily bad since the game focuses on them. The rest is up to your preference. The game, much like other Suda 51 games, does the occasional "4th wall" moment where the main character knows he's in a game. Yeah, in my opinion, it's not as cool as it was back in No More Heroes. Suda tries to throw in symbolism, but it feels more lazy or an excuse simply to have a game that plays rather fun and nothing else. Sometimes the fights don't play as well due to all the different mechanics at work in combat, but it's the one memorable thing about the game. I've only completed the game on Normal, so there's always the higher difficulties. Not too motivated, even with some of the trophies hanging around. Like I said before, sometimes the fights can feel broken. The final boss for example, much like with other bosses too, is that even when the health bar is empty, you have to go through certain motions before the battle can progress. I don't mean just the Killer move, but a certain scenario will have to play out. I guess i could also talk about the beauties, a.k.a. the Gigolo missions. You really only have to do enough to get all of your sub-weapons, and a little more for the trophies. Scarlett is a little different in that you do her challenges, which are actually good. Otherwise, unless you love to see suggestive video game sex, there's nothing more. I just wish they wouldn't bug you on your missions, and if you leave them alone for too long, they'll start to complain all the time. MONDO YOU MAN WHORE!
  6. I want to get this game eventually, just it's not a system seller. I always thought it looked interesting and the "Viewtiful Joe"-like attributes are probably what has me more interested than anything.
  7. What Alex said. It's colloquial, but it helps distinguish games through developer/studio. The games are still technically "first party," but Sony isn't exactly the ones developing some of their biggest exclusives. So say The Last of Us is "second party" because more people would call it a Naughty Dog game rather than a Sony one though Sony owns the property and is a Sony exclusive. It pretty much slipped out, the term. The more I thought of Sony's "exclusives," the more I thought it was because of many different studios. Whether they're owned by or have a publishing contract, there's a lot of variety to the first party games because of their "second" nature. Still, it's all just terms and I think we all know what was said.
  8. Heard about it earlier today, but wasn't sure about the details. I got excited about being able to transfer my White Version Pokemon, but then saw that there would be a fee. I am glad though that I'll have a Squirtle and Fennekin. Much like last generation, I'm sure there will be some great Pokemon while the rest are... alright.
  9. All I can say is, if you're really looking forward to Destiny, I'm getting the vibe that most of us here are hopping aboard the PS4 platform. It's up to you which you get first, though the PS4 has always been the better option to me. Not because of all the previous controversies, but the stated reasons of exclusives, second parties, not to mention there are some fantastic PS4 bundles which cost the same as the standard Xbox One.
  10. I see the stretch goals are including all the current consoles, but at the same time the estimated delivery for most of the rewards is somewhere around April 2015. I don't know if that's like Amazon's "December 31st" filler date, but by the time the game comes out, I'm a little doubtful a lot of people will care about having Might No. 9 on the PS3 or 360. Perhaps it could transition over to PS4 and Xbone, though I'm also curious if your reward for a boxed copy could be for a different platform while you still get a download code for PC. I mean, that's a previous reward and most of these rewards include the lower donation items as well. EDIT: Thinking on it more, I guess the "download code" could be for other platforms too. I sometimes forget the Wii U has such a capability. I just being cautious since this is still a Kickstarter campaign. A lot of hypotheticals and promises, even if it is from a big name.
  11. I imagine I'll be getting a Wii U soon because the games I'm finding interesting are stacking up. I played Origins on the PS3, but Legends look like a definite Wii U title. The team behind porting the game to other consoles seems to have done their job, it just means that all the touchscreen stuff is predetermined and configured to a button.
  12. Most definitely agreed on the Killzone 2 multi being my favorite. I had such great moments in that game's multiplayer. Killzone 3 multi was a step down with the altered classes and most maps had the same "destroyed" theme to them.
  13. Meant to post this a few days ago, though around then the board was acting slow so I put it off. IGN Unboxing 2DS If you don't care for the site, it still puts some perspective on the proportions of the device. Honestly, I'm kinda liking the large shoulder buttons and I'm actually a bit jealous that the White-Red 2DS is a Europe exclusive. I mean, I still have my original 3DS and probably wouldn't get another unless there was a great trade-in deal or it broke, but the 2DS doesn't seem that bad with the exception of never using 3D. I'm not bound by that feature, but it's nice to have the option.
  14. Free Resident Evil Chronicles HD = Dig out my PlayStation Move
  15. I only say that because, at least on my 3DS box, it has "3D Mode Ages 7+" on the bottom-right corner. I'm not sure if that has been retracted now because, as you say, it now is not true. Just that it's why a lot of folks online have been using the "under 7" phrase, either for justification or mocking the concept of a non-3D 3DS. As for the "breakable" attribute, I've seen the hinges of a DS or 3DS as the first thing to go. However, the screens aren't usually the ones that break mainly because of the clam shell design. Now that they're always exposed, it has essentially the same vulnerablility as flat surface Game Boys: the screen. So the way I see it, there's a lot of give and take between the advantages of both handhelds, but the price is the strongest bullet point for any parent and low income student.
  16. I was initially thrown off by the new handheld, but then I realized where Nintendo was driving at. It is meant for younger children, mostly because of its design and functionality. You could still give a child younger than seven years-old a 3DS, but there's still the possibility that the child isn't going to care about the health of his developing eyes and switch the 3D on. Given the new Pokemon generation is around the corner, Nintendo probably wanted to expand the market while maintaining that the 3DS has an age barrier. The very look and proportions of the 2DS seems right for young children. Of course, the device itself has to be justifiably cheaper because it has noticeably cut production cost, and technically only has one screen. Not to mention parents would be more drawn to the cheaper handheld for their younger child. If anyone older wanted the 2DS as well, there's no harm in it. It might seem silly, but all you've really lost is a clam shell and 3D effects.
  17. I'm sure you all know what happened at the VMAs. If you don't, keep it that way. I only post this because the Smith family has the most accurate reaction of what occurred at the event. EDIT: I'm thinking this probably should head off to the TV Show Discussion thread as it happened on television.
  18. Does Amazon only do Release Day shipping for popular games? Pre-ordered a few games and I didn't see the option.

I thought so, but I got Killer is Dead and it didn't ship until a little while ago. The estimate is now Wednesday, so it might not exactly be release. That's fine, just I swear I use to get each game first day.

      Mr. GOH!

I was not impressed by San Francisco's public transit. I'd say NYC's is the best in America, but it has it's very, very, very, very terrible aspects. 24/7 operation and ability to get anywhere trumps the other issues, though.

Missed your Ducktales statuses so I was going to assume this was related to Saturday's and high-fi...uh, I mean report you.

Nah, then my status would have been, "I'm probably not going to be here for a while..."

  20. DuckTales: Remastered Post final boss platforming is a pain in the ass, but there's a shortcut. If you don't get it right the first time, you regenerate with the lava higher up, so unless you're hardest of the hardcore and want to barely survive, you could skip the shotcut... But it saves you so much pain. At the point of my "beaten" status, I had already defeated Count Dracula Duck 11 times. Really nerfs your satsifaction of victory when it becomes a pattern.
  21. Nope, forget it. I got the First Dime and there's where I'm leaving DuckTales Remastered. I'm tired of dealing with chains and I don't think I could handle defeating Count Dracula Duck and getting the Dime another five times.

    1. CorgiShinobi

      CorgiShinobi

Actually, someone had a tip about grabbing chains. If you keep holding Up and press the jump button, Scrooge will let go, but because you're holding Up, he'll grab the next chain.

The ONLY thing I look at a walkthrough for game for: chains.

  22. Fuck DuckTales Remastered. I beat the final boss, but because I can't do some ridiculous platform challenge with pinpoint accuracy the first time, I fail the whole level and run out of lives. It deserves the average scores it got, not because I'm frustrated, but because I'm tired of skipping cinematics and horseshit to start over.

Welcome to old school mechanics. Still, it is kind of odd how they kept it.

      CorgiShinobi

It's just, I love the drawn animation, but it does NOT mesh well at times with pinpoint jumping and hopping. I'm very good at platformers, and I've gone through most of this game just fine. The final platforming though, just forget it. Maybe when I'm feeling better I can try again, but come Tuesday I'm moving on to another game.

  23. Western Digital pretty much always. Anyway, would there happen to be a handy guide to Windows 8 I could access online or something of that sort? I feel like I'm half-assing my way through the OS. My work does have Windows 8 for Dummies, but I'm (very) confident I'm not that unfamiliar with any operating system.
  24. Just what I need in my life, a bunch of 16 and 17 year-old girls flirting with me. That wouldn't have been a problem NINE years ago, but it's 2013 and I'm very quickly going to become 25.

Studies show men and women are most steady in relationships when the man is approximately 7 years older. They will be 18 soon, so don't dismiss them.

Atomsk, hit on older women. it is the only way.

  25. Alaska as underrated? I've lived there, and while the scenery is fantastic, you'll probably commit suicide if you don't live in the cities. When people say, "I'm so bored I could die," that's a thing in remote regions of the state. I love Washington, and I want to live there again, but preferably the western half. When people were voting, they were probably thinking of that half of the state. The other half is similar to Idaho, which isn't exactly "beautiful." Though, when you head north, both states have nice forests which in my opinion trumph plains.
