  1. I've survived to live another day. Now to sleep when everyone else is awake.

  2. Here I go, off to work before the sun rises, with only about 1.5 hours of sleep and the suspicion I may have to left heavy crap all morning. If I don't post back in a week, assume I'm dead or something.

as a nightshift worker who also suffers with sleep; good luck comrade.

Ugh.... my sleeping pattern is all funky of late too and I have to do similar stuff. Ponyo, good luck!

  3. I've only owned three printers of my own and the first two came with a USB printer cable. I haven't had a printer with... was it SCSI, a.k.a "scuzzy," that was used for printers before? Anyway, my latest one didn't come with a USB printer cable, but I kept the one from my last printer. It's not like they're expensive, and maybe most people don't use them, but sometimes I feel bad for the ones that have to find themselves a cable across the store. Just the old ones though; anyone else can figure it out fine (hopefully).
  4. I think everyone has at some point experienced the "What network?" wireless printer. My last printer was exactly that way. One day it just up and decides my wireless router is invisible. However, I'm glad this was back in the time when USB printer cables were included with printers. I've been seeing a lot of printers forgoing the simple inclusion. Maybe they want to push wireless, or they assume everyone's grandmother has wireless now, but there will come a time a printer will just up and say, "Hey, where your wireless gone?"
  5. I have an adapter where the audio cables plug in and it splits the audio to left, right, and to a 3.5mm. My TV doesn't have any output, its one shortcoming. Still, if the original cable isn't plugged into USB, the audio won't work. This is hard to explain, and I can only think of one person who use to post here that knows what I'm talking about since he has/had the same headset. Maybe I could find the instruction booklet and see if there's anything different I need to do when plugging them into PC, though I'm sure it's most likely something with my machine
  6. The Bioshock Infinite Clash in the Coulds is kinda good, just I've never been into the "Complete 15 Waves or Start Over" stuff. You do get to unlock some cool stuff though.

It's co-op? Besides, I keep all my Bioshock on PS3. I'm not some willy-nilly "mix platforms" kinda fella!

I though it was? What fun are these sort of last stand without some friends?

It's more like you complete a wave, you're in a supply room to upgrade and change weapons, complete the next wave, and repeat. There are Blue Ribbon challenges for alternate play style, i.e. use only X and/or Y, kill while in scope, don't loot.

  7. Well I was wondering last night how Sony/whoever might be able to tell if you have auto-renewal on. The last email I got about my PS+ subscription was a while ago when it told be I renewed for three more months since I left auto-renewal on and it used my saved method of payment. It will tell you though, not a mile under some text, once you add more months or renew that you have the auto-renewal feature. Then you go to your Account Settings, look at your different subscription services (you might have a few from games), find PS+ and turn auto-renewal on or off. A lot of subscription based services assume that people will want to continue using the service, so auto-renewal is turned on. They probably do bank on the idea that people will forget about a yearly renewal period, but perhaps you can also demand a refund. I did so when years ago my Amazon Prime trial period ended and I saw $80 went to Amazon. Auto-renewal was left on and I didn't realize. It was either through the website or calling Customer Support (I forget), but I remember getting my money back. Of course, that was Amazon and I don't know how Sony treats payments for the PS+ subscription service. There has to be a protocol for it though because this kinda thing has to happen a lot with auto-renewal.
  8. I did that first, but I can't hear a thing once I'm in Steam or a game. Probably because my headset uses a USB and 3.5mm audio cable together, the USB is throwing off my computer. Like, I do hear all the system sounds and audio test, but it stops once I do anything else. I guess one way of fixing this would be to get a 3.5mm extension cable as I'm sure the cable alone can work without the original headset cable. If anything, I'll get my friend to come over and see if he can figure anything out too. Having audio from the TV is fine, just I've grown to prefer my headphones. I've been able to hear things lost to television stereo speakers.
  9. I guess I could change the text size for regular use too, not just my web browser. Either way, I'm using my TV as the monitor, and the physical setup isn't ideal for common use. Now I'm wondering if I can use my headphones in conjunction with my HDMI connection. For my PS3, I run the audio through the component audio cables. I can hear the System sounds with some fiddling, but starting up a game and I can't hear anything. It would help if my TV had an audio jack, hence why I use audio cables for my headphones for PS3 use.
  10. It was implied? Playing devil's advocate here, but usually these things are straight-cut. Copy-pasta the contents of the message, sans personal junk. In my experience, it has been upfront about automatic renewal. Maybe things are different now, don't know other than I know how to turn off these things.
  11. Playing Remember Me on my new desktop. Right now I'm still typing on my laptop because I can't comfortably browse online with the setup of my room. 1080p on a 22" TV is awesome, but text and everything else is super tiny. I refuse to change the resolution though because damn if I'm going back to something close to 1366 x 768. Anyway, while Remember Me still looks like a sweet game, it does in fact play average. It's not the worst thing, but other games do melee combat much better. You get to stare at a nice butt, but it's almost ironic how limp Nilin (the protagonist) controls when not in her acrobatic fighting mode.
  12. Well, it does tell you that auto renewal is on when you join or add more months to your subscription. It even tells you where to go in your Account Settings if you want to change it. At least, that's how it has been for me whenever I've renewed and added more months. EDIT: So as not to get confused with Ethan's comment, I'm not talking about the Terms of Service. After you've added or renewed, you get a notification.
  13. Auto renewal will always be turned on when you activate a PS+ subscription. It'll only renew when there are no more allotted months, so technically you can keep piling on months or years thereby extended the time you would have to "renew." For me, it's now set to February 2014 after I added on three months not too long ago. If you have a form of electronic payment tied to your account, it will use that to renew your subscription. Other services can be different, i.e. Amazon. I renewed my Prime membership a week ago, but it wanted to use my old card info. Thereby, hey, it couldn't renew properly even though I had added a new form of payment to my account.
  14. I've caught two episodes of the new Whose Line Is It Anyway?, and while the new series can be as funny as the 90's series, I'm getting this feeling there's this motive to be "edgy." You know, like trying to be culturally relevant again by recreating the highlights of the last series. Still, it can be funny and that's worth the occasional viewership. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EV2lPN9vIvg
  15. Here's hoping my wireless desktop adapter arrives tomorrow. My desktop sits there, calling out to me, longing for its destiny to be fulfilled.

  16. Didn't realize it was a secret to everybody. My strategy was to get rid of a Gravitor when it popped out. I would, ideally, only have two Gravitors floating around. Anymore and you'll soon realize that the rock spikes act like vertical projectiles forcing you to jump from you're footing, and jump you will into jumping slimes. All I know is that Chakrams are the best spell. They help clear out the bottom floor, unlike knives which can't hit the small slimes. Seriously, name something Chakrams aren't good for!
  17. Here I'm thinking, "The hell? Isn't the PS3 1,000?" Nope, that's the Xbox One. My reasoning above, but I'm with everyone. I don't think I could even fill up my list to 100 now or with the PS4. I've actually kept my Facebook around 150 people, though I should clean house again. I'll only delete someone if they themselves haven't been active, i.e. "Last Login 11 Months."
  18. I never tried it with a Spellsword, but I did discover Fire Shield took Herodotus down a lot. The only problem is that if you're an Archmage, it only takes four-five hits to die. So if you happen to not get a single Gravitor, or the little ones start jumping right away, you're screwed. The ONE trait you want is the one where you "don't feel foot pain." That means the ground spike traps will not work against you. Considering how there are only two open spots below the platforms, those are the only places you can land if you have to take out little Herodotus slimes. Sure you can land on the traps, but you can't backtrack too quickly and it involves jumping. You know, jumping while other slimes are jumping towards you.
  19. The sword thing, I can tell you why: DRAMATIC TENSION! Something that exists for the movie rather than in the movie. I'm sure there's a trope name for it because it happens in other movies. Things look dire while the heroes are pushed to a corner, but then they reveal the ultimate solution and bath in victory. It's awesome for the experience, but not for the plot. It should have been something the command center told them that was added to Gypsy prior to the mission. Sure that would have been dumb of them to not inform the pilots, but believable. Maybe say it wasn't tested or whatever.
  20. Current Friends List is 100*, but yeah a human being can only maintain around 150 social acquaintances. Generally speaking, the way the Friends List is designed is that it not only includes actual friends, but you're given the ability to befriend strangers online after multiplayer matches through (I believe it's called) "Players Met." Honestly I think it rare to actually meet decent "friends" through matches, but it does happen. The only people I can think who have filled up their Friends List are online celebrities and anyone who goes around forums adding strangers' tags and ID's. EDIT: I swear it was 1,000. I guess that's the Xbox One Friends List though, but I swear when people were adding Kevin Butler and other e-personalities, it was said only the first "thousand" got accepted when it happened.
  21. I think it came to EU before North America. It could have expired by now, but honestly it's a great game to own and not have tied down by PS+.
  22. Nah, it was an Ethernet adapter where you plug the cable from the device (at the time a roommate's blu-ray player) to the adapter which needs a power source. The official adapter for the player was $100, so we needed another option. Truth be told it probably would have worked better if it wasn't in an environment with eight other wireless signals within a single building. Eventually the official adapter went down to $50 and I gave away the other adapter to my parents. They could have used it, but it's kind of a pain to set up, so they didn't.
  23. I feel like a lot of us here tried Vanquish later in its shelf life and have loved it. Word to the wise, if you're going for difficulty trophies, chapter select will cancel the criteria for unlocking it.
  24. Any specific card out there, or look around and see what's popular and highly rated? I think I'm going to find more USB wireless adapters in retail stores, and some of the more popular items are from brands I don't recognize when I search online. I did see a decently priced D-Link PCI card, but otherwise I'm seeing those shoddy Ethernet adapters that need to plug in. I know I lent my folks an old N-wireless adapter I had, but that thing worked 50% of the time and needed an outlet.
