  1. Mixed reviews, high points, low points, and rookie mistakes. Conclusion: Discounted Steam purchase later this year.
  2. After Arrested Development, I got back into Bob's Burgers. I love that show and it pains me that only half of it is on Netflix.

    1. Mr. GOH!

      Mr. GOH!

      Bob's Burgers is fantastic.

  3. Nearly forgot, but today (June 2) we have the 4th Gen Intel Core i7 and i5 processors. Not sure if I would put the new i5 in my build considering a mid-level i5 is more than enough for gaming.

  4. Eh, I like to think of game scores like test scores. Anything 6.0-6.9 is worth a rental if you're a fan of the material, and if you have the time between the good to excellent games out. A 5.9, for this kind of game, now that's bad. Anything below a 5.0 I wouldn't let my console touch. You're basically allowing yourself to have a bad time, if absolutely ruining your day with either frustration or sheer shock at how a game of such poor design could be brought into this world.
  5. RESIDENT EVIL: REVELATIONS, I BUY YOU, I PLAY YOU, AND YOU DECIDE TO CHANGE THE LOCATION OF THE ONLY RIFLE?! Oh, lets get the player to explore a bit of random rooms before going to the objective where originally the needed weapon lays before a difficult enemy type. GERD DAM ITZ I SPEN 30 MENUTS ON GOGLE FENNIN 3DS CLOOS!!! (Am I doing it right?)
  6. What am I going to use an optical drive for? Computer things that require a disc, either CD or DVD. Didn't feel the need to blow three times the amount on a Blu-ray drive when I already have a PS3 for movies, let alone if anyone ever actually hands me a Blu-ray storage disc. What am I going to use Nero for? Eh, for $2 it might be a handy alternative in case any of those other features in programs, or Windows itself, go hayware for any reason. Now, if you saw me buying a Zip drive, then this could be 2001, or probably '98-'99.
  7. $21.99 on Newegg. Practically everyone gets the older model, but this one comes with Nero.
  8. As long as you don't get me to play any surf simulators. (2:24)
  9. Eh, I guess I wouldn't have to spend "teh monies" then if this turns out to be a stinker. I really wanted it to be awesome, but it seems like there's quite a bit to the game that's been kept hush-hush.
  10. If we're going to be a family, I think we need to start assigning roles. Either I want to be an uncle, or the awkward middle child who gets the secondary door to the second floor bathroom.
  11. I thought the folks had a copy of Windows 7 laying around, but when I found it, I saw (and remembered) it's the upgrade pack. So it seems I'll be spending $100 to get Windows 7. Unless anyone has a compelling argument for Windows 8, but it seems like I should be just fine with good ol' #7.
  12. Heads up, Arrested Development Seasons 1-3 is $25 on Amazon. It's one of the Best Deals, and yes it's $25 for the whole package, not per season!

Pretty sure it's also on Prime Instant Video for streaming...

I don't know if I'll have Prime in the next five years. Maybe, but typically I use Netflix as the medium for series/movies I wouldn't put money on, like most of my childhood favorites. When the time comes I no longer use these services, I still have a few on DVD.

      TheMightyEthan

I don't know when/if I might cancel my Netflix subscription, but barring some major unforeseen change I anticipate having some sort of streaming video service for the rest of my life.

  13. Crap, I forgot that technically wasn't common knowledge for the film. It's just kinda obvious, as much as the rest of the film.
  14. You only have to enter multiple codes if you want extra Heart Containers, and etc. To get the Super Ultra Mega Awesome Ending, you just play both games with the single code from the first completed game.
  15. More like a frustrated phone slam, but yes the future went back to flip phone communicators. I too saw the new Star Trek movie days ago, but honestly I'm not a big Star Trek fan. J.J. Abrams' fetish for lens flair coupled with the flashing red and green lasers made me sure I was going to have a seizure, just like the feeling I had in the last film with the phaser fight on the Romulan ship.
  16. Question! I'm getting close to choosing all my components, but I've come across some reviews/comments about how a motherboard for gaming purposes shouldn't have HDMI, DVI, or VGA ports. I understand that my video connection will come from the graphics card, but it doesn't seem like there are that many great boards to choose from if they don't video output onboard. So I take it that it's a bunch of butthurt rather than a valid complaint?
  17. Salty milk and pennies/coins, and now it all makes sense.

My eyes immediately went to "salty" and then I misread 'penis', and now it all makes sense.

I think you both reached the right conclusion regardless.

  18. Yeah, but I think it's both a power fantasy with the added benefit of physically appealing to women too. Obviously this is an assumption on my part, with my perspective, but I wouldn't think men would like to be "huge" just to be huge. It's about some sense of sexual appeal, and maybe some of these ripped men play a fantasy for female gamers. Or maybe they're more into Leon Kennedy or Dante type characters. Before I sound like I'm saying, "Everybody wants big boobies and raging biceps," I'm more so speaking along the lines of simply finding a character attractive. When guys make a female Commander Shepard, I would think they would also make her attractive, not to everyone else, but what they found attractive in women. Still, another assumption and I imagine many other players chose default faces as they believed those faces to be the true Commander Shepard.
  19. Door bell rings, no one is there. I look down and I see a package from Amazon. Nothing should have arrived today, and it feels bulky. OH LORD DID I GET THE LAST OF US: SURVIVAL EDITION EARLY?! No, Tomb Raider (w/artbook) got here in one day...

    1. Faiblesse Des Sens

      Faiblesse Des Sens

Ha, what shipping did you pay for? My best recent was paying for 2-day shipping on Saturday and getting it on Monday. Estimate? Wednesday. Gotta love living by one of the warehouses.

  20. I do want to get the game, but I think I'll wait for it when I finish my PC. Much like DmC, I get the feeling that Remember Me will, visually and techically speaking, run fantastic on PC. Not to mention my money is tied up with Last of Us for June. It's the only game I'm going to be playing for a while.
  21. Speaking of body types, I remember a comment thread on Reddit (about women, clothing, games, etc) in r/gaming where an individual was asserting that both scantily clad women and trim/fit men were sexist male fantasies. Commander Shepard isn't a hunk because women might like it, it's to wax the male fantasy of physical fitness! I could go on, but I'll leave that thought here. Personally I've never looked at a male lead and thought how it would be radical to be him, not even physically. If I'm given the option to recreate myself, I'll do the best the game will allow me. It can be fun to indulge in the prospect that you could be the character, like being Booker DeWitt with the women commenting on your figure. It's more of a fleeting moment, if not dependent on your intentions and preferences, but... THAT THE PROBLEM YOU MISOGYNIST PIG!
  22. This is the undeniable truth. Maeby always looks pissed, and then she becomes always pissed. EDIT: Oh, but I did finish the season last night, so a few things...
  23. Alright, even though it still gets muddled with every episode slightly adding onto, like, five different plots, episode 11 (2nd Gob) was highly hilarious and the ending was perfect. Seriously, I got the feeling...
  24. All I can say right now, stopping right before Lucille's 1st episode, is that it does feel unbalanced. So far it has been this tag team of Michael, George Sr., Lindsey, and Tobias. Gob is sprinkled in and he gets an episode, but the main focus so far has been this interconnected story of just those four people. I'm actually wanting to see George Michael, and Maeby will randomly pop up to only give us a hint of what is going on in her life. Haven't seen much of Buster either...
  25. Should I bother with an Intel motherboard with "UEFI BIOS?" I'm trying to stay away from "gaming" centric components, but some of those motherboards look more appealing.
