  1. Great reply here by thesinginghatchet: "I'm sorry Luke, but being upset over this is preposterous. Nobody put a gun to anybody's head and made them play (many pretty awesome) games. As far as I can tell, it was sites like Kotaku hyping the idea that people would get the game early. Can you really complain that "... people bought ... games... in the belief that in doing so they'd really get to play one of the biggest games of the year a day or two early" after Kotaku ran the headline "We Can Unlock Portal 2 Early"? I know you didn't write that article, but acting like this is all Valve's fault for misleading people and torturing and manipulating them (GLADOS's specialties, I might add) with (simply amazing) games like Defense Grid and Amnesia is nothing short of ludicrous. The goals of the promotion were never defined, and people went with it anyway - totally bolstered on by gaming media. If you're looking to point the 'manipulative' finger - which I think is misplaced in any scenario - then it should be right back at Kotaku Tower. I love you guys, but that's a totally off base accusation." Right in the fucking balls. Are you completely unaware that Kotaku does stuff like this purely for hits and heated discussion (which equals more hits) ?
  2. Quite simply I'm talking about getting rid of invisible walls not something that adds or changes the content of the game. Stuff like that I find to be fair game as it's barely above a bug fix. The same can be said for the community patches New Vegas has.
  3. Oh, so you played the console version, no wonder you didn't like it.
  4. Slaughtered via Deathclaws. Also I got what was meant by "flat" but I guess eveyone else didn't. Basically what is being said is that yes there are hills and mountains and shit but they barely get in your way. The terrain isn't as extreme as Morrowinds.
  5. I like how you start talking about gameplay when everyone else is talking about visuals. Also, were you playing a different new vegas than me? I didn't do the main storyline for a good 70 hours of new vegas and just explored the fuck out of everything
  6. I like how I get to start this. =) What's your wide definition of a space sim? Anything in space? Let's go back to the Halo example. Sure, it's set in space, but it's not a space sim.
  7. The thing is though... did Oblivion outsell Morrowind? Actually it was either Kotaku or RPS that I saw where they mentioned that for archery perks there would be one for zoom, then one for slowing down time when zoomed, and stuff like that lol. What are the three attributes btw? That could be seen as simplification rather than dumbing down if there's a larger number of abilities/perks and shit (which there appears to be at least in comparison to new vegas as you can go to level 50 and still unlock crap)
  8. What I don't get is how it's going to be Gamebryo even if it is some new version that they renamed. Wouldn't we have heard if Bethesda acquired Gamebryo?
  9. Nightlies already after the official release of 7? Any new features?
  10. The icons are on the taskbar now =D
  11. I know that, but isn't it still nothing like the games being talked about?
  12. You know you can pin folders to the taskbar right? And we already covered how to put the recycle bin on the taskbar (well in the quick launch to make it functional) Also, windows 7 lets you uninstall IE. =p And WMP, too.
  13. Does anybody have a game that's like EVE but not as incredibly overwhelming? Something, shall I say, more casual? I've never played a game like that before but after looking a while it looks like there are several games of its kind. I'm wondering if there's a free one that doesn't require you quit your job to play it. There really isn't anything else out there like EVE. 90% of it is spreadsheets and mundane tasks. However, there is that 10% when someone will forcefully take over an entire corporation, when massive corporations engage in diplomatic warfare, or when the SA Goonfleet launch hundreds of smaller ships at your bigger ship, overwhelming you with unbeatable numbers. It's 10 hours of gametime, where 9 is the most boring thing in the world (Even EVE players can't stand the game sometimes) and the 10th is the most fascinating, unique experience you've ever had. Most people suffer through the 90% to get to that sweet 10%. There's X3, which is single player, but its 50 times more complex to learn than Eve. Space sims aren't really a big market and any potential devs probably got turned off from Spore's backlash. ....Spore was a space sim? o_0
  14. ....what about Samurai Champloo?
  15. The first episode of Game of Thrones was great!

      toxicitizen

I'm still not sure if I want to watch it now or wait until at least the first season is over so I can have a marathon session.

Had some minor problems in it.

    3. Mr. GOH!

      Mr. GOH!

I liked it. A few concerns, but generally enjoyable.

  16. 2011 alone had Galaxy 2, Donkey Kong Country, Monster Hunter Tri, Other M (which I liked a lot), etc etc. I don't think MS or Sony came close. But then again, that's just my personal preference. Yeah, nothing really exciting out of that bunch IMO. Not bad games by any means. 2010 for Sony had 3D Dot Game Heroes, GoW3, Gran Turismo 5, Heavy Rain, and Mod Nation Racers. It was also when everyone discovered Demon's Souls though it actually came out in 2009. There's also multi-plats that Wii didn't get such as RDR, Mass Effect 2, SSF4, AC: B, GTA4 episodes, BFBC2, Vanquish, Just Cause 2, Fallout New Vegas, and Enslaved. That's the thing with the Wii, compared to 360 and PS3, exclusives are ALL that's on the platform whereas 360 and PS3 share some really incredible multi-plats ON TOP of their exclusives.
  17. 3 was better than VC though!
  18. Did you play Vanquish? I imagine that it's just going to be like that where the melee is ultimately the same but has slightly different animations and effects (farther knockback and stuff.)
  19. Eh, not really. Even the first Resistance had that and I'm sure other games do, too.
