This rubs me the wrong way. Whatever happened to patience? How does it affect you if you have to wait 2 days more than someone else? What about people who never buy new? They have no problem waiting.

Forum ban locks user out of his game

Call it ridiculous if you like, those are the rules you agree to every time you install a game. Not saying I agree with the practice, but they are operating within the terms of the agreement. And it's also immoral by the way. Even more immoral than piracy. What makes it immoral? Bringing morality into this is a whole different argument in my eyes. -
I can see why you like AIMP, it's very winampy. I'm a foobar guy myself.

The one thing I can see is that the game is the whole reason the person is on the forum. As if it's part of the single player game. I'm not really sure how I feel about this personally as I know they're not doing this for the hell of it. I don't think there's enough info coming from either side. Obviously, most "gamers" are going to side with their fellow gamer and not the big evil scary powerful corporation. -
Sure, there's going to be an increase, but would it even be that much of an increase? Certainly it can build up server side with a lot of people connecting but the same can be said for not having a completely optimized site in the first place. Anyways, read the article yet?

None of them should lose access to their games. Thursday Next wasn't making a statement about if they should or should not lose access to their games. He/She/It was just pointing out that bannings happen all the time, losing access to your game because of it does not. That's the difference between having the authority to do something and enacting that authority (which is when it becomes policy.) -

Encryption eats the CPU? Wait, what? Second one is sort of true. It talks about how people are only just now giving a fuck.

With MacGruber it was funny here and there... but it's a comedy. It needs to be funny more consistently. It certainly had jokes all the time, they just weren't any good.

Are bosses, platforming and Game Over Screens the Past?
Faiblesse Des Sens replied to HotChops's topic in General Gaming Chat
I think war games have certainly tried to have feeling in them at times (more so in the medal of honor and first call of duty days) but I feel like this is starting to get a bit off-topic. -

I think you're taking him a bit too literally. He's simply saying "write about what you know." Hell, if you've attempted suicide and you're a writer, that would certainly qualify you to make an emotional and realistic ("human") scene of it in a game. That's what he's getting in. Draw from your experiences. He also doesn't call out writers specifically in the Guardian article. That's Joystiq doing that. He very generically says "more people." Which to me signifies an "industry" change not a "writers" change. He even mentions the industry later in the quote (instead of writers.) This depends on the job doesn't it? If anything you're saying people should be soulless and empty when it's personal experience that can really liven up a lot of writing. What you are and who you are is what determines how you write in the first place. Sure, in the games industry, it's just a job. When given the opportunity to make it more than that then it should be taken. That's what he means by "the industry will make a huge step forwards." He's talking about change, you're talking about the current state of things. -
The discrepancies are false when the problems are across all 3 versions though. That's what you don't seem to get. All you're doing is complain why some idiots online would think one version is better than the other which is completely useless. You're talking about a beta arriving later, but not an entire game arriving later, also completely useless. How is that a "delay?" For all you know that's marketing. Crytek developed an engine that works with both consoles so one would assume that they are over the hurdles that make the PS3 more difficult to develop for. Either way that's not an excuse for any of the problems. Yes, MS does work with developers more for LIVE, but even Crysis 2 had its problems. I'm not contributing my viewpoint, I'm contributing a lack of viewpoint. One that is open to all sides. You seem to want to talk about very generic concepts (console war sort of subjects) rather than what is actually going on here (all 3 versions not being up to par for multiplayer.)

What kind of argument is this? The problems are with netcode and not how the game runs and EVERY SINGLE PLATFORM HAS THE SAME PROBLEMS. Many developers would likely point out that PSN architecture is easier to work with as it's less restrictive (steamworks anyone?) Live also isn't smoother than PSN and never has been due to its P2P functionality. It's just more feature rich (better friends features and that sort of thing.) What delays have there been? It's coming out at the same time on everything. This fanboy mindset really needs to go away which is EXACTLY what I was pointing out in my last post. The problems with Crysis 2 are universal and very few are willing to embrace an objective viewpoint on the matter because they don't get the chance to play all 3 let alone give them equal time. This is why I also gave the example of Oblivion/Fallout 3/New Vegas which was plagued with bugs across all platforms.

Why are you sighing? He makes a great point and Heavy Rain was great for it. -
From the sounds of it every version is borked and people need to quit arguing what version is borked because it's always going to vary slightly on experience and vary few of us are going to play all 3 versions and thus can't form an objective view. The same thing applies to Oblivion/Fallout games. They're buggy as hell on all systems but people will usually only play it on one. Switching from FO3 on 360 to NV on PC I found the same sort of bugs throughout. The same can be said for whenever I'd watch my friend play FO3 and NV on PS3.

Inception is enjoyable because it's an action movie not because it's smart. Anyways, MacGruber. Holy fuck what a piece of shit. I get what they were going for and it just fell so completely flat even as a chocky b-movie.

That's why I said "like that"

I've never heard "going on" used like that in the US

That was probably my favorite part of the game TBQH. I loved all of the aspects where you weren't fighting.
