I wouldn't be so optimistic if I were you. I'm waiting for the lite.

That's kind of the point. It's meant to be more than the human eye can see just by looking at something. Better than human vision. I always equate it to it being the equivalent of looking through the eyes of animal.

That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking like an actual HDR edit like a photographer would do. First GIS hit: HDR in games is nothing like that (yet) except for the damn sun effect.

Oh, there are also perks after each level until level 50. I want to see what these perks are. I dunno if I'll like that or not. It will be taking away the real need to customize your stats and whatnot to really tailor your class IMO. I dunno. It just seems like more and more they are shrinking the games skill set down, I want it to be hard, and take forever. From what I hear, it's actually much more effective to throw a lot of power into one thing than spreading it out even. Like, going from 30-35 in a stat, matters a lot more than going from 10-15 with that same stat. That was the explanation I saw anyways. Also, I'm getting the PC version so I won't have to worry about difficulty if it ends up being unbalanced.

That's true, but if he wants it for upcoming games he can just wait until those upcoming games are out or almost out... Yes, this is the point I was making. Given that a game was specifically mentioned, might as well wait until that game is out or right before it's out.

There's really no point in upgrading early when it comes to computer tech. If you just wait until the end of the year you'll be able to get better tech for the same price you are paying now.

It's not even snobby as much as it is not even about the music when it comes to reviews. They review bands, not music. They've always done that though. I really don't think they're any different than they were 5 years ago they're just more popular. It's still an excellent site for news at least. But yeah... it's nearly impossible to find anything widespread that actually has consistently good reviews. Rolling Stone panders to their advertisers, whatever's popular at the moment, and major labels too much, NME tries too hard to be hip yet disregard the fact that they are trying to be hip, etc. Tiny Mix Tapes is probably about as good as it gets for something that isn't a user-review site ala Rateyourmusic.

Why would you list PItchfork but not Rolling Stone, NME, or any other publication/website? They all suck for the most part.

I have a 4830 and I don't even feel like upgrading. Metro 2033 is the only game that really taxes my card so I just play it in DX9 and it still looks great and runs great.

The problem with Trauma Center is that once you've played one, you've played them all. Also Muramasa was mediocre. It definitely gets the "we don't have many good games so we'll just act like this okay game is great" praise. Like with early PS3 titles.
