  1. Oh yeah, the situational outfits are great. I still have my faves. Sakai for standoffs, traveller for well, travelling and ghost for fighting. But it's true, most games, even Horizon, I would get the "best armour" and stick with it, this incentivises switching (however, I would perhaps be less keen if the game wasn't utterly awesomely optimised. The menus are soooooo speedy!
  2. So many of the things Ghost of Tsushima does I would love to see become open world videogame tropes: The guiding wind. Love this instead of a 3D marker or constantly flipping back and forth from game to map. The "if you choose to be a stealth ninja you know it is "bad" because the weather gets worse, but other than that the game doesn't judge you for it." thing (same goes for not punishing you for bowling in and shouting for people to come fight you). The "press up to call the last few dudes in the camp to fight you, rather than running all the way to one end of the camp scouring it for enemies, and then realising the last guy you need to kill is back where you started" thing. Your horse can be summoned from any distance (*stares at Breath of the Wild*). When a mission says "Walk with [NPC]" and if you run, so does the NPC! When you get one of those pointless battles in the world and you rescue a villager, they tell you where a nearby camp/mission is, so those encounters are not pointless any more.
  3. Links Awakening - Switch It's barely a Legend of Zelda game. I score it meh out of ten.
  4. Especially Rockstar is guilty of this. Started with San Andreas.
  5. Hello. It me! Wanted to pop on here and see what others thought of TLoU2. In terms of game mechanics, it was all more of the same, which is fine. I think the only new thing was throwing ropes around (could be wrong there, idk). My only gripes mechanics wise were: 1. You can't drop a bottle/swap one for a brick. This is annoying and dumb and I'm sure you could do so in the first game. 2. It's annoying when your super hearing arbitrarily doesn't work so that you can get a scripted jump-scare in. Story wise, I hated Abby at first, but felt that she became more sympathetic as the game progressed. Yes she started it (although Joel really started it if we want to get down to it), but I think her reasons were good, based on her own morality.
  6. I hate you Hotty... ;)image.png.c24cbfb618b8a5c51b123aa4770e911b.png

      I've finished it now.

      Did you like it?

Yeah, I liked it a lot. Or I guess I should say I liked 4/5 of it. The last bit drags and I'm not sold on the ending/framing but interested to see where it goes.

  7. I beated Into The Breach in so far as I got to the credits on Easy. Can definitely see this being my go to conference-call game.
  8. Overcooked! 2 Played through this with the gf on the Switch. Three-starred everything, but I think we'll need extra people for four stars. Fun game though.
  9. Did whatever a spider does. Good game, good story, good ending, can't be arsed with taskmaster's timed bollocks though.
  10. I kind of want him to change the amendment like yeah, nbd, so then there can (in theory) be a proper conversation about a certain other amendment that conservatives have a massive boner for. Also, the "not subject to law" reasoning is mental. If they aren't subject to the law, then they haven't broken the law, because you can't break a law you are not subject to, so they are not in the country illegally, as, for it to be illegal, they would have to be subject to the law to be able to break it. If you accept that immigrants who are not in the country legally are "not subject to the law", then you'd also have to accept that "freemen of the land" wankers are also not subject to the law. It's fucking bonkers, he's fucking bonkers. He just says whatever bullshit comes to him and his sucker base lap it up. It's infuriating!
  11. The weirdest voting thing to my mind is that you can be a candidate, and the person in charge of how the election is run. If that happened in an African country everyone would be demanding that the UN stand over their shoulder to make sure no cheating takes place. In the US, it's just a "hey, what can you do?"
  12. Sums up my view on it. I'm not sure how far in I am but while the game is fun, it's not blowing me away in the way that GoW did. Combat is great, traversal is great (I have only done the mandatory fast travel, web-slinging is too much fun and New York isn't that big) story is ok, but there is nothing genre defining or reinventing about it. The thing I am enjoying most is It's a really well delivered story thread that is great for people who don't know the comics and are in for one heck of a surprise and a treat for people familiar with the story as we get the delicious anticipation. Wish more of the game story telling was a subtle and effective as this.
  13. Has anyone posted the Bumblebee trailer? With the Transformers that look like... you know, Transformers, and not the contents of a knife-block stuck to an electromagnet?
  14. I just feel like I'm enjoying it, but it's not going to stay with me after I'm done. It's a refined form of what it is, but does nothing especially new, so not (my) GOTY.
  15. Not GOTY imho, especially not with GoW out there. But a great example of the genre.
  16. It *is* a bit generic though isn't it? Nothing we haven't seen in Ghost in the Shell, Blade Runner, Deus Ex etc. There's nothing really new going on here. Your primary interactive tool is a gun. They've thrown in some titties and swears because it's a "mature" game. It looks like a good example within the genre, but it is very generic.
  17. That is equal parts cool and ghoulish.
  18. I only found it on day 3 after I actually created an account. ?
  19. How do you know what your FC is? (I caved and bought a Switch).
  20. I really enjoyed Darksiders. Never finished 2. I think they added too much RPG stuff iirc.
  21. That won't take long at all. The grind from 335 to 385 is real though... Problem is, the hardcore fans live for the grind. It's difficult to balance making end game content rewarding, while at the same time making getting to the end-game achievable by the majority of players.
