  1. I know what Dean means (I think). It looked like a more Shadow of the Colossus thing with the isolation and such. The coliseum stuff gives it more of a Mad Max feel, which doesn't bother me, but I can get it putting off others.
  2. Obama just being a stand up guy to the last.
  3. My curiosity made me look them up. What an arse. Glad they have gone.
  4. There's an exception to this rule. Superman always sucks.
  5. And how. A pity that they are going to tear it down instead of rejigging it and naming it TrumpCare.
  6. Atomsk88: The reason I have no idea that the EU is subdivided into EU/Legends is because I don't set foot outside of the (live action) theatrical releases, I know as much about the difference between EU and Legends as I do about Shiite and Sunni. I had no idea that "The Clone Wars" was a theatrical release but yes, I wouldn't count it because it isn't live action. Everyone: As Ethan said, none of this is a value judgement on the EU, or questioning whether or not it is canon. If Disney say it is canon, good for them. If you say you enjoy it, good for you. I literally just said that Darth Maul is (a) A crap villain, and (b) Bringing him back is lame fan service. Those are both my opinions on those distinct elements, bringing up other things that you think are rubbish will not affect the rubbishness of Darth Maul in my opinion. Bringing up the fan serviceness of other things will not affect that I find bringing back Darth Maul lame and fan servicey. None of this impacts on whether or not the Han Solo film is (a) fan service (it is) or (b) whether or not it is lame (we'll see). I will however say that a film about Han's *past* is waaay less lame than say, doing a sequel spin off to Episode VIII showing that Han survived being gutted by a light saber and falling into an abyss because he really wanted to see Leia again, or thought he left the oven on, or he hadn't double locked the front door and used that emotion to cling on to life as seems to happen whenever they want to bring back a sith in the EU. It would also be pretty lame if Han came back as a force ghost, even if he is a bit force sensitive, he's nowhere near Yoda, or Obi Wan, or Anakin, or Qui-Gon (or anyone else who seems to have learned what was supposed to be a super hardcore talent but is now available to all and sundry).
  7. Grievous was naff as well, not disputing that for a moment (though a quick google says that he willing underwent cybernetic conversion - so again, different to being chopped up and thrown down a well). I've no idea who that blue guy is. The movies are not without stupid fan-service either, for example, Anakin building C3PO is a bunch of nonsense that added nothing of any value to the point that they clumsily wipe his memory to fix all the continuity errors it brings about. To be clear I'm not dissing the cartoons or any of the other EU stuff. All I'm saying is that Darth Maul coming back is lame fan service made more lame by the fact that he was a rubbish villain first time around.
  8. That is a minuscule amount of storage. Needs to be .5tb or more in my opinion.
  9. I didn't say anything about "main movies" or "episodes". I just said that not movie = EU, which I have always said is my jumping off point for Star Wars. Watching the EU or not notwhithstanding, it doesn't make sewing Darth Maul back together again any less fan-service.
  10. He may well be a better villain in the EU. But we voted to leave it, so only the movies count.
  11. Nintendo consoles at this point are just Mario/Zelda boxes to me, and I played my fill of both on the N64 and Wii. It's not going to be able to keep up with the current gen titles for 3rd party so it won't be a "premium" console and it's £280, so it's not in Wii cheap console for kids territory either. I have no idea who this is for other than hardcore Nintendo fans.
  12. As stated above. Anakin doesn't lose any vital internal organs, just a few limbs and is seen to be rescued soon after suffering his wounds. Maul is shown to be tumbling, cut in half above the waist, and falling in to a chasm that appears to be many hundreds of feet deep with no prospect of rescue. I'm not gonna lose sleep over it, but it is clearly, flagrant fan service, there purely to sell toys and his recovery is so ridiculously crow-barred that it would strains credulity to breaking point. And he is very boring, he's got nothing going on barring a fancy lightsaber and some cartwheels.
  13. Darth Vader was not immersed in lava and was picked up soon after suffering those wounds (which while not trivial were all to his extremities). Kylo Ren suffered in movie terms a flesh wound everyone knows that only storm troopers and rebel soldiers die from a single blaster shot. The Darth Sion stuff sounds almost as daft as Darth Maul, but at least he was all in one piece, is it even technically canon anymore? Force ghosts are one thing it's as much being alive as Christian-Judeo mumbo jumbo, but being chopped in half losing kidneys, liver, and most of the intestinal system, a drop of seemingly hundreds of stories and then being fine is stretching it a bit. Don't get me wrong, I *like* Star Wars, but the Maul stuff is dumb as hell and is clearly some fan service crap because kids think he is cool when he was a pretty boring rubbish villain.
  14. If I never hear the term "fake news" again it'll be too soon.
  15. lol, the Darth Maul who got chopped in half, and fell down a massive massive hole... is not dead? That is the most ridiculous bit of fan service since Pyramid Head started appearing in all the SH games for no damned reason.
  16. Playing FFXV. All the time. Forever. The girlfriend is not as big of a fan... :/
  17. Yeah, a couple of issues with the controls, I get that triangle is at the top so makes "sense" to put the jump button there, and X is at the bottom, so crawling/descending makes sense... but I did die a couple of times when I tried to jump from a hanging ledge because X is normally jump...
  18. I am dumbstruck that anyone could see him speak for more than ten seconds and think, "Yep, that man should be President of the United States of America". It's a natural progression from when Trump said "I will make Ford keep their manufacturing in the US." to which Ford responded "We don't have any plans to manufacture outside the US." and Trump said "See! I totally did that!" The media now just does the last bit for him.
  19. The Last Guardian. If you liked Ico, then you'll like it. Not sure if the AI is really accurate to an animal's foibles or if the AI is just janky. Probably the latter.
  20. When are they going to do the next briefing thing? If I'm gonna buy this I expect to be wearing a fancy hat.
  21. Thanks Franc0Pirate who I believe is aka Eleven, aka Eleven Days Of Christmas, Eleventh of his name, ruler of the seven kingdoms, titles, titles, for... Psychonauts (the nostalgia!), Inside (the mystery!) and Hack and Slash (the hacks!). Ho ho ho y'all!
  22. Yes, you can log into his console and download your backed up saves.
