  1. It's not that what was done was horrible. It was that it was done to a woman purely to motivate a man. You mentioned Robin by way of comparison. Note that Robin is an adversary of Joker as well as an ally of the Batman. Barbara Gordon (to Joker's knowledge) was just a tool to use to get to Jim and the Batman. Nobody is saying that female superheroes can't be harmed. Just that when they are it should be for reasons other than that someone else will be upset that their woman was damaged. Finally, if we are taking the work on its own then you have to accept the Barbara was tortured, shot, stripped, photographed and had those images shown purely to break her father. Then she was dumped in a hospital and forgotten about. Given that Oracle wasn't even conceived of for years later you don't get to call it her "origin story" or say that she didn't break as the last we see of her is a woman crying on a hospital bed begging a man for help. It may be an entertaining story, but that doesn't mean it isn't sexist. You can enjoy problematic stuff and enjoy it, but you should at least recognise that it is problematic. Now, that said, maybe the animated feature will take the opportunity to correct the wrongs. Give Barbara some agency and some dignity and make the story more about her as an individual. In that case I'm all for it. But as it stands I just can't get behind the idea.
  2. Yeah, or he could mutilate a girl I know to teach me a lesson?
  3. If it isn't obvious by now, I'm anti remaking/animating Killing Joke. I agree that you should take the work as a whole and in isolation. But you also have to look at it through the lens of history. In this instance it doesn't stand up well in my opinion.
  4. For an amusing breakdown of why there is racism / sexism but there is not "reverse racism / sexism":
  5. Hmmm, not sure about the Assange thing either. It makes no sense for the clock to tick while you are on the run. Statute of limitations normally applies to the time before you bring a case, not the completion of that case. I'll check with Swedish colleagues at some point.
  6. I see where Ethan is coming from. You could compare someone being raised in Brixton vs someone who was raised on their family farm in Buckinghamshire. Rural =/= Poor necessarily. It's clear from the article, but not Deans comment out of context.
  7. Pretty sure you see the players. Just that because you're scattered over the galaxy the chances of meeting someone you know are vanishingly small. Not sure if the game will try to cluster people together somewhat? Obviously as you near the Galactic Core, I'd expect encounters with people to increase.
  8. We do get the occasional visit from old yellow face in the South. Also, I am off to Dubai for a bit with the lady in September.
  9. It's only fair that if the Queen is in charge of a religion that Philip gets one too.
  10. Posted from mobile. Whoops. Ending and side quest spoilers...
  11. I too, have defeated Riddler. Is there any point to NG+?

  13. In theory you could meet someone, but the odds aren't great given size of galaxy etc.
  14. Remote Play only works for some games on PS3 I think.
  15. I believe there is "lore" scattered about the place which explains the impetus for travelling to the centre of the galaxy. As for "story" I think it is intended to be emergent. It's a sand box where you choose your role and make your story up by your actions rather than by picking a menu choice at the set up screen. I like the look of it. I can't wait to try it.
  16. - While you may main on PC, there's always Arkham Knight issues to avoid. - There always discounts to be had on console titles. Especially the bigger releases. (You follow SavyGamer so you know this as well as I do). Also free games from PS+. - PSTV uses the Vita memory cards. - The Vita has to be tied to the same account as the console. I'm not sure if there is a hardware limit, but if you aren't sharing a PSN account then chances are you'll have to pick one or t'other. - Not doing much MP at the moment to be fair.
  17. Some of my fave scenes. How odd that they were cut.
  18. I've got about 17 left. For me it's just that they are soooooooo numerous. They could have junked all of the trophies that are just left out in the open, and not had the random things that you have to destroy (for some reason) and the whole thing would have been a lot more palatable. (IMO).
  19. New Oakleys. and a coolbag Fun times.
  20. 50% of Riddler Trophies. The true test is not can Batman solve the "riddles" but can I be bothered to do them all?
  21. If by "in a specific spot" you mean "under the part of the ceiling with the stuff she can climb on" then yes. *Edit - @TCP: All the characters play exactly the same as far as basic combat goes, there's no need to know how her skills work to beat her battles. If you hadn't played City (and in particular the Catwoman DLC) you would have a hard time working out how that ability works (as in you have to be directly below rather than aim in the general direction like with Batman). It is not very intuitive. In fact, a gripe with this game in general is how much it assumes that you have literally just put down City and are therefore intimately familiar with all the different combat moves, takedowns, counters et al. Could really do with some (optional) tutorials at the start that serve as a refresher.
  22. Waaaaaaay too many riddler trophies et al around the place. Totally feels like filler content, especially when compared to the other stuff that is slightly filler-esque, but doesn't outstay its welcome.
  23. Mans with riot shields. How does one beat them?
