  1. Stunned I am. Stunned. http://www.isidewith.com/elections/2016-presidential/1367667396
  2. http://uk.isidewith.com/results/1365021317no surprises for me.
  3. I'm somewhat sympathetic to VW. What they've done is find a loophole and driven through it, satisfying regulators while giving customers the best driving experience. I'm willing to bet that this at least started life as a clever workaround not an attempt to defraud.
  4. To be honest, I can't imagine a company that would make and market this. What would the tag line be? "I can't believe it's not Butters"?
  5. I'm the same. I think it's just a public policy / social acceptance thing. I'm comfortable with that.
  6. The only one I'm iffy on is child simulacra, solely for public policy issues of it being impliedly acceptable if a simulation is permitted. (And yes I know this opens a conversation of "murder simulators" etc.) Otherwise it's a "in the privacy of your home" issue.
  7. Decent ad. Still not playing though.
  8. You say that now, but wait till some massive arsehole in the UK tweets a bunch of spoilers "for a laugh".
  9. Not so much weird and wonderful as it is sad and depressing.

    Apple

All I really want to see is an iPad Pro selfie stick. Then I can die happy.
  11. The comments on that video. Oh my goodness.
  12. Oh and "walk through the valley of death" is "walk through Death Valley" which is in America, and a very literate take on a metaphor. On this Kim Davis thing...I feel I'm maybe missing something on ""why not just fire her". I know you guys have the whole "at-will" thing going on so you can fire someone for looking at you funny. Actively refusing to do your job is a fireable offence over here. Oh also John McAfee is running for president: http://thehill.com/policy/technology/252987-software-pioneer-mcafee-files-paperwork-to-run-for-president http://mcafee16.com/ I hope their meals are literally square then.
  13. I only have an issue with people telling other people what they are and aren't allowed to have opinions on, which is how I interpreted your comment. I really am sorry if that was not what you meant. I'm not after a fight here, I just don't think you have to have played all the metal gears (or indeed any of them) to know the plots are hokey as hell, or to be surprised that people play them for the hokey plots (I don't, I play them for the gameplay, the story is nonsense, barely coherent fluff imho). I accept my tone was a little snidey. Sorry.
  14. My thoughts on story aside. PSA: https://twitter.com/konamieu/status/641255499099439106 @FLD. Felt like you were more on the offensive than GOH. He was just saying that the story is hokey as all hell. Not that you're not allowed to enjoy it. You were demanding up to date CV's before having opinions on camp stories. Sorry if you felt under attack. Wasn't my intent. Caring about the plot of Metal Gear Solid is akin to caring about the plot of The Big Lebowski. It's not about the events. It's a great film despite the nonsensical plot just like MGS is generally considered great despite its nonsense plot.
  15. I played MGS1 to death. Bandanas, Tuxedos, the lot. Played MGS 2 till I had all Dog Tags on Euro Extreme completed MGS3, MGS4, Played some of Peace Walker and the main missions in Ground Zeroes. So hopefully FLD will give me permission to express an opinion on MGS story. MGS lore is the most convoluted, hammy, retconned pile of nonsense anywhere. Half of it seems like fanfic of itself. The dialogue is corny as hell and some of the plot lines make bugger all sense. None of that means that you shouldn't enjoy it, but I definitely agree with Mr. GOH! that you should not take it seriously.
  16. My favourite part of this is that she has allegedly been divorced three times and married four! So... yeah. That sanctity of marriage thing is going great. http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/sep/02/kentucky-clerk-kim-davis-divorced-three-times
  17. Dean's probably right. A lot less thought went into this than most give credit for. Likely: - What social media are we on? - YouTube, Twitter, G+. - Do we have anything on Instagram? - Nope. - Chuck a 15s trailer up there then.
  18. I'm still vexed about the Magnum Opus thing. Will be picking this up though.
  19. My two favourite comments on the recent shooting: 1. "Yeah, but the USA has the fewest incidences of shootings *per gun* than any other country, so we're totally cool with the having guns thing." - That's because you have ALL THE GUNS. And as a general rule shootings are done with the shooters favourite few weapons, not the entire arsenal. 2. "What's needed is tougher sentencing when people commit gun crimes." - This guy, when he was done. Shot himself in the head. How are you going to come down on him harder than that?!
  20. Just covering all the bases. Makes sense to put it on every platform just in case you miss someone.
  21. Don't even know what to say. No point calling for a ban on guns, as a nation,USA will never learn its lesson. Just hope all my US chums stay safe out there.
  22. I was really working backwards to get there. I mostly liked it because it uses the enemies strengths (spotting, investigating and alarms) as a weakness and I've not seen it done before.
  23. He was part of a team that wrote a comedy drama called Gavin and Stacey which, largely due to featuring i) regional accents and ii) fat people being disgusting, was lauded as comedy genius. He has then gone on to put his talentless, gurning, smug, round face in everything from Doctor Who to a chat show called a league of their own. A lack of talent, plus ubiquity has led to him being universally despised but at the same time impossible to get rid of. He keeps getting cast as "loveable fat bloke" despite only fulfilling two of the requirements.
  24. Did I write that? It seems like something I would write. I fucking hate that talentless oxygen thief. Fuck James Corden.
  25. I really liked that level. It was a neat way to introduce something new to stealth games. As well as the bugle and other distractions using yourself as a distraction and taking advantage of the bots patrol routes was (I thought) kind of neat. It was more subterfuge than stealth, but it fits with the Robin Hood theme. He wasn't always a ghost, he would quite often pop up to thumb his nose at authority.
