Yeah, and I've been watching the NYT predictions that have her at 84% (which is still 9 points lower than a week ago) but I can't shake the fear that I'm just falling for this mass delusion and he really will win.

Oh holy fuck
-
Luckily I have no illusions I would ever get good enough to do something like that.

It's that time of year again. The last couple of years we've had a fairly short signup window, so this year I thought I'd give everybody basically the whole month of November. If you want to be part of the fun just post in this thread. Rules: Digital gifts only, typically Steam since it's the easiest to mess around with wishlists and gifting on. Other services/gift cards are fine though. Make sure your Steam wishlist/other wishlists are up to date. Suggested price of $10, though under or over is not against the rules. What this means is, don't expect a $60 gift--if your Santa gets you a $5 gift that's on your wishlist, that's all he's required to do. But if you're feeling ultra-rich or ultra-generous, we won't thumb our noses at higher priced presents. Multiple gifts are fine. Gifting period will officially commence alongside the Steam Winter Sale, which I believe is supposed to begin December 22 this year. You can gift earlier though if you find a killer deal. Gifting deadline will be on or around the end of the Steam sale. If you don't get your gift by then, message me. No brand new members (signing up after this message) unless I or another mod approves you. Deadline to sign up is Monday, November 30. I'll message everybody their targets in the AM (GMT -6) of the 1st. Have fun!

As of right now they're still pretending this isn't a replacement for the 3DS. Really they're just hedging their bets, if the Switch takes off then they'll discontinue the 3DS with no replacement.

Yeah, to continue with H2G2: "Space is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space."

There is no canon ending, that's the point of having the Andromeda mission launch before ME3: so you don't have to worry about what happened with that. The effects were pretty instantaneous within the galaxy because they were traveling through the relay network, but the network doesn't extend beyond our own galaxy so any effect or information about it would be limited to the speed of light from there. Andromeda is 2.5 million lightyears away, so it will be 2.5 million years before anything that happened in ME3 can affect the Andromeda people (assuming they don't send another ship back, but even then it's a 1200 year round trip so it's gonna be a while).

I have no faith in Ninty, as much as I want to. I just really like their idea for the console. I'm coming off the release hype, and back to my original plan of just getting Zelda for the Wii U and upgrading my PC instead.
-
Right.
-
Both. Everything we know suggests that the ship actually departed before ME3, but then the events of Andromeda will be 600 years later.

Libertarians are scary psycho crazy. I would vote for a Republican (except Trump) over a Libertarian.

They announced months ago they were ending Wii U production this year.

At least his *enthusiastic* supporters only make up a small portion of his total supporters. Most of his supporters are highly reluctant. I've even heard people say they're only voting for him cause they know he'll get himself impeached and they want Pence as president (which is colossally stupid, but there you are).

I feel like my subjective reaction will be different with the xenomorph for some reason, though I can't articulate why. Probably because it's supposed to be this horrible terrifying overpowering monster, and it's the reason I'm playing the game, whereas the humans feel more like irritating obstacles between me and the game I want to play. But yeah, I'm not going to force myself to keep going if I'm not feeling it, I just want to give it one more shot to hook me.

Alien: Isolation. I'm about 2 hours in now and I'm not sure I'm digging it. The atmosphere is great, and the Sevastapol station is amazingly designed, but I'm not liking the way the encounters with human enemies are set up. It seems like you're supposed to play it as a stealth game (since they have guns and I have a wrench), but you don't have the ability to track their location very effectively which makes it more frustrating than I would prefer. I'm going to give it another shot tonight, but if it doesn't snag me I think I'm done. Which sucks because the xenomorph was just introduced and I haven't even had an proper encounters with it yet.

I already have Massive Chalice free from XBLA, otherwise it would have been a bigger motivator than it was for me.
-
I just use SMS... And occasionally FB messenger.

From the Humble Bundle: Lumino City Massive Chalice Titan Souls Oxenfree I really got the bundle for Titan Souls, but went ahead and paid more than the average ($4.29) because I saw that Oxenfree was in that category and I've had that on my wishlist for a while.

I would totally use that keyring!

Your memory is bad. Bethesda games have always had terrible voice acting. Half the time they'll change a character's actor in the middle of a conversation.

Goodnight Mommy. It's a suspense/horror movie that's completely lacking in suspense (I called the major "twist" that marks the climax of the movie 5 minutes into it). How it has an 84% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes is beyond me.
-
Yeah, RPS said trying to see a difference between the two on PC is like trying to decide between two shades of white when painting your bathroom. Their takeaway was that the main advantage will be that it's 64 bit so modders will have access to more memory to play with.

Lol, I'm apparently terrible at thinking of movies because I've seen both of those too. Both good suggestions though! Especially Sunshine, fantastic movie.
