I liked in Space Chem how it rated you both on how fast you got it done and also how complicated your process was. The engineer in me loved trying to distill my solutions down to the bare essentials.

I broke down and got Rise of Iron.

Tharsis. On Easy. Fucking finally. Took me 3 hours of playtime, when each run takes less than 20 minutes. I'm pretty sure this game would actually be impossible on any other difficulty. It's fantastic though.

Are there any preorder bonuses for Rise of Iron?

The Last of Us: Left Behind I liked it. I'd forgotten how nice and crunchy the combat on this game was.

Goddamn, Tharsis is hard as balls, and I've been playing on easy. I had one run where I almost made it, but my guy ended up dying of smoke inhalation on the last turn.

Dead Rising 3 has a timer, but it's so generous that it almost might as well not be there. I beat that game in about 1/3 of the time allotted. DR3's actually the only entry in the series I've ever played. The gameplay itself was alright but I thought thematically it was a wreck. Like, obviously the cobbled together weapons and stuff are ridiculous, and it seems to be going for kind of an OTT slapstick vibe, but the presentation is all deadpan dreariness, and the two really clash hard. Is the first one like that too?

The Walking Dead: Michonne I can't decide whether I liked the shorter series or not. It definitely made the story tighter, but it also made it so characters, especially the antagonists, weren't fleshed out as well. Overall though, a good Telltale game. 4/5

This is my most anticipated game of the year.

I thought it was Achilles but then after I wrote it it looked wrong and I changed it.

It's like Hercules and the tortoise, they'll keep delaying it but the delays will get shorter and shorter.

I think you're mis-remembering how good PS2 games looked. He could easily be from a PS3 game (other than the resolution), but I think that's more the semi-cel-shaded art style.

Alright, that was an easy fix. Only took me about 20 minutes the second time through. I didn't find the ending even slightly disappointing, I was ready for Halo 2 levels of being cut off in the middle, but I thought we got a full story. Or at least a full installment of a multi-installment story. The kind of thing you'd get in a mystery TV show, where at the end of the season they'd be all "we foiled this plot, but they're still out there, lurking..." Idk, maybe I just have low standards. Also, thank the gods for the lack of boss fights. I kinda still want to go back and replay Human Revolution (Director's Cut, obvs), but I'm worried the gameplay won't hold up after this one.
