  1. Says the guy who was complaining about No Man's Sky's day one patch and how they shouldn't have sent it for pressing until it was done.
  2. The Persona games do it for sure (I'm playing Persona 3 Portable right now, and Persona 4 Golden did it too). I feel like there are other JRPGs that I've played that also did it, but that would have been like 20 years ago.
  3. The thing (in JRPGs especially) where if the PC dies you lose the game, even if other party members are still up and you have revives available.
  4. There's only 3 races, so only 3 languages to work out.
  5. Spoke to soon, the experimental build just lets me get to the starfield intro before crashing.
  6. Woohoo, the experimental build lets me launch the game!
  7. New support update on the Steam page says they're aware of the SSE4 issue (my issue) and are working on a fix. YAY! http://steamcommunity.com/games/275850/announcements/detail/812158047918689921
  8. Apparently it's an issue with CPU instructions, the game uses SSE 4.1 and doesn't include alternate instructions for CPUs that don't support it, which includes any Phenom CPUs as well as older Intel CPUs. Phantom Pain and EDF had the same issue at launch. *Edit - Want to credit FLD for pointing me to this info.
  9. HEY GAIS THIS GAEM IS GRATE LOOK AT THIS SWEET SCREENSHOT I TOOK!
  10. Check out the Eurogamer review for one that acknowledges the negatives but still thinks the positives outweigh them: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016-08-12-no-mans-sky-review
  11. Yeah, they don't even necessarily have to be a species, it could be a rank, or speciality, or whatever now.
  12. Yeah, the bothans died getting the imperial access codes to the shield on the second death star. Good trailer.
  13. RPS' impressions seem to be that at a fundamental level it's fantastically fun and engaging, but that they made a bunch of baffling decisions that seem designed to annoy the player, but that in spite of those annoyances it's still fantastically fun and engaging.
  14. My CPU is midway between the two, but everything else I'm set for recommended. *Edit - I really need to start looking at upgrading my CPU/Mobo, but lets face it, there's a not-insignificant chance I'll end up buying an NX despite all my protestations.
  15. Ultimately the Steam refund system is what sold me on a NMS preorder. I really think I'll enjoy it, but if it hasn't hooked me in the first 2 hours I'll refund it. And DXMD is 25% off on GMG, so I went for it.
  16. The plot thickens further. Apparently the European special edition boxes have a sticker showing PEGI 7 and singleplayer, but under the sticker the actual box says PEGI 12 and online play. My speculation is that they've been planning to have the online play, but that there was a problem and so it's currently disabled, and that this happened very late in development (hence the box stickers). Though this still wouldn't excuse the really cagey BS commentary from the dev about it.
  17. If you want the non-alola marowak you have to trade from a previous gen. If you're happy with the ghost/fire alola marowak then you can get it in SUMO.
  18. Is it supposed to actually be scary, or just low-level creepy?
  19. Beyond Earth came out two years ago, but it was made by a different team and wasn't amazing.
  20. I was like you, but having just played Pokemon X I actually think it did a better job of capturing the feeling of the originals than the other ones I've played have.
  21. I'm gonna hijack this thread to ask what games people are looking forward that are coming out later this year. I was looking ahead and it looks like kind of a slow year for me. The only games I'm really excited for are Deus Ex, Civ, Dishonored, and Gravity Rush. Though I also find myself in the weird position of being interested in a Call of Duty game again...
  22. I was actually about to post that I think you're talking about TLG!
  23. Tharsis. Technically I bought two other games too, but this is the only one I actually wanted. I wish Humble let you choose which devs your money goes to, because I'd have given it all to this one.
