Well, it's Cowboy. What he says doesn't count as much as what a normal person says. Gotta factor that in.

I meant it in the sense that you're successful and have beautiful wives.

No you didn't. And even if you did, it's still a lie.

      ... :(

  2. I think the biggest problem (other thank only being able to add people from Twitter/Facebook or face-to-face) is that there's no indication when someone responds to your post, or to a comment you left on someone else's post, so there's no encouragement of actual back and forth interaction.
  3. Yeah, I've got that game sitting on my Xbox waiting to be played. I have too many paid-for games on my backlog though.
  4. I guess my point is that getting all that fixed for all the roads is so far outside the realm of plausibility that it's not really worth talking about, and until cars can handle roads with imperfect markings they're simply not ready.
  5. But what I meant was until the last year or two it was all research, not application focused. As you pointed out Google's rig cost $75k a pop, they weren't planning to sell that to the average person. Now we have companies saying they'll be releasing semi-autonomous vehicles to the general public next year. The tech is advancing faster than most people realize, so I doubt the crappy signage is going to be a major problem for too long.
  6. @Mal: I think you're underestimating how quickly technology is developing. I'm sure all these problems which sound like "well self driving cars just won't be able to do that" type problems will be easily solved in a few years.
  7. With humans driving you don't need to have the lane markers and stuff perfectly kept up, because humans can make inferences based on limited data. Which isn't to say it's not an issue, but it's not a critical one.
  8. I unlocked all levels of plates but didn't find the cross shuriken or the heroes shield.
  9. My point is no matter how good the roads get there still going to be some portion of them that are without good lane markings, so no matter what the cars are going to be able to need to deal with that. If they can't then the tech simply isn't there yet for fully autonomous vehicles. That said, it also wouldn't surprise me if in 2-3 years something that currently seems like an almost unsolvable engineering problem becomes trivially easy. I mean 2-3 years ago no one was even really talking about self driving cars for consumers.
  10. Transistor. Why the fuck didn't I get this game when it first came out?
  11. Yeah, the framerate was terrible. Hopefully the final game is better.
  12. It seems like it's basically equivalent to cable. I don't see the advantage/difference (other than that it's streaming). I'm probably not the target audience though, since I cut the cable like 6 years ago and the only time I wish I had it is during the Olympics and the World Cup. But then I just log in with my parent's cable account and stream it.
  13. And having played the demo I'm now actually kind of interested in the game, whereas before I wasn't really. Hmm.
  14. In terms of capability it's somewhere in-between. It can do room-scale stuff like Vive, but isn't designed for it. The screen is lower logical resolution but higher subpixel resolution (it has rgb subpixels for every logical pixel, whereas the Rift and Vive are pentile) which some people are saying actually reduces the screen door effect more than Rift or Vive.
  15. https://t.co/MMEpSZ1pKg Apparently self driving cars are confused by crappy lane markings, and car makers are saying this means we need better markings. It seems to me that's something the car needs to be able to deal with, so it's on the car makers to figure it out. I mean, even if we completely standardize markings and get 99% of the roadways fixed and up to spec the car still needs to be able to deal with that remaining 1%.
  16. Surely if you're waiting on a GPU upgrade you might as well also wait for a sale.
  17. The thing I read said the new demo was like 30-45 minutes. It's also more of a basic mechanics demo, and none of the content is in the actual game. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016-03-30-ff-demo
  18. Hey dean, finally a Youtube 360 degree VR demo video: I haven't watched it on my Cardboard yet, but I put it in my watch later.
  19. I forgot how frustrating the horseback part of the final boss battle was. I wanted to gouge my brain out.
  20. I was just noticing in Daredevil that there's no podium, and it got me thinking that I can't think of a single legal show set in New York that I've seen where they had podiums, so I wondered if it was accurate or if it was just a TV thing. In our courts here we do everything from a podium. Or at least everything that involves more than a sentence or two.
  21. GOH, do New York courtrooms not have podiums for the attorneys?
  22. Yeah, that's what happens when they tie your viewpoint but not your character model to the headset tracking.
  23. But I thought the whole point of playing Japanese games was the eroticism.
