I was just noticing in Daredevil that there's no podium, and it got me thinking that I can't think of a single legal show set in New York that I've seen where they had podiums, so I wondered if it was accurate or if it was just a TV thing. In our courts here we do everything from a podium. Or at least everything that involves more than a sentence or two.

Only Vive and PSVR support the room-scale stuff (and Sony discourages it). With Rift it's all seated/standing still, no walking. Vive only requires 2m x 1.5m for the room-scale stuff and also supports seated/standing still stuff. Though everyone does day the room-scale stuff is the most impressive, it's impractical for a lot of people so I would imagine there will be plenty of sitting-still support, especially since the Rift requires it.

So apparently the word is don't buy an Oculus until the motion controllers are out, because they're essential to the real immersion that makes VR what it is. Though it seems to me that if you're doing that you might as well just get a Vive because I can't imagine a Rift + two controllers is going to be too terribly much cheaper than the Vive anyway, and it can't do the room-scale stuff.

In the Division you can play with 3 other people, in Destiny you can only play with 2 other people (for most things).

While obviously there's not enough data to really be confident of a trend yet, I'm choosing to take it as good news. Obviously Sony was expecting it to sell well enough to justify making it, so it selling better than that bolsters my hopes that VR will actually take off.

Supposed leaked pictures of the prototype NX controller: I have to say, it looks like the least comfortable controller I've ever seen. Admittedly those handles in the patent application posted by TFG made the thing look dumb, but at least it would provide a way to grip it. This thing looks even worse than a Vita, which is impossible to hold even remotely comfortably without add-on grips.

Beat Until Dawn last night. It's the kind of game where I would like to go get all the trophies, but the chapter load points are so far apart and the different things so disparate that I'd end up having to play the equivalent of probably 4 or 5 runs through the whole game. I enjoyed the game, but not quite that much, so I suppose I'll just sell it on Amazon instead.

Yeah, they can't just ignore it, I just find it interesting that sites are reporting on it as a denial even though it's not. *Edit - Apparently that may actually have been a shitty translation by Kotaku. Kotaku said Nintendo said it would continue production next quarter and beyond (which only guarantees two quarters, through the fall), but Google translate says next fiscal year and beyond.

Nintendo has "denied" the report, saying that production will continue at least through the fall. Apparently they don't understand what "this year" means.

I am so hyped for this game. It's dumb that the runner vision is a real in-world thing though. I had always just assumed it was that Faith is a good enough runner that she's able to pick out good routes, and the red is how that perception is communicated to the player. I like that explanation a lot better than her having an AR contact lens to show her the stuff.
