  1. You could get an Eye and two moves for less than $100, but the PS4 doesn't use an Eye, it uses a PS Camera (that's the same mistake I made that dean corrected). The PS Camera costs a lot more. $100 is probably about what the camera and two moves would cost, so it becomes a deal when considering the game that's included too.
  2. The translator thing was cool, could make dubs of live action movies less distracting.
  3. Sony announces the Launch Bundle in North America. $500 US gets you the PSVR, camera, two moves, and Playstation VR Worlds. I'm seriously tempted. I'll probably try to grab a preorder when they go up next Tuesday, with the thought that I can always cancel it.
  4. Yeah, I really don't understand why the VR companies aren't making use of Youtube's VR video features.
  5. I'm not sure how the assassination might have contributed, but we were already well on our way to being tied up there before he died.
  6. Yeah, as a game it was not very good, but I found it interesting for the other aspects. Glad I got it on PS+ though.
  7. Idk what it might have been, but it wouldn't surprise me.
  8. Sony has confirmed there will be a bundle that includes the camera and a Move, at least in North America. No price though. Right now I could buy the camera on Amazon for $45, and the Move for $25, so I'm hoping the bundle will be $450. http://www.techinsider.io/there-will-be-a-playstation-vr-bundle-with-a-playstation-camera-2016-3
  9. Never underestimate the ingenuity of hackers/modders.
  10. FUCK *Edit - I forgot there was a difference. Order cancelled.
  11. Um, so apparently Amazon has PS Eye cameras for $4.99, and they qualify for Prime, so I went ahead and ordered one and even if I never use it oh well...
  12. $549 CAD, which is a little bit of a markup, straight exchange rate would be $535 CAD. *Edit - fuck, from the blog post it looks like it doesn't even come with one controller.
  13. So this is interesting, even with all the trustworthiness concerns people have about Clinton she's still polling second-highest among the candidates in that category. (Ignore the headline, it's not supported by the poll, which was just "would you trust [blank] as commander in chief", not whether you want them or not.) Percent who said "yes" for each candidate Sanders - 38% Clinton - 31% Trump - 26% Cruz - 20% Kasich - 19% Rubio - 16% This isn't directly related, but I feel like Rubio looks like a 7yo boy in a suit.
  14. After playing around a little, it seems like it's more of a memory leak type issue. Just going to the main page doesn't use an inordinate amount of resources, but if I leave a tab sitting there it starts using progressively more and more over time. Leaving it sitting on any other page doesn't though.
  15. We have donations set up.
  16. Something on the forum main page, I assume the ads, is using a ridiculous amount of system resources. Just closing the tab freed up 800MB of RAM and reduced my laptop's CPU usage from 37% to 25%. I know the ads help support the site and I'm not suggesting they be removed, but I wondered if there's something that can be done to possibly reduce their impact? *Edit - Just to make it extra clear, the problem appears to be limited to the main page, no other pages have that issue.
  17. It's good that MS is opening up the system even if making use of it requires others to do the same.
  18. Sony was always more about PC cross play, but this is the first I've ever heard of any console talking about cross-console play.
  19. Microsoft has enabled what they're calling "cross-network play" for Xbox One. It allows not just cross-platform multiplayer between PC and Xbox, but also any other console that will allow it, so potentially you could end up with cross-platform multiplayer between Xbone and PS4. Even for enabled games though individual players will still have the option to limit their connection to other Xbox Live players (presumably if you feel another platform has a competitive advantage, like playing a shooter against people with m/kb). The first game to support it is Rocket League, though from what I can tell atm it's limited to Xbox/PC and doesn't include PS4 (yet?).
  20. Yes, SATA standards are inter-compatible, it will just run at whatever the crappiest component is.
  21. Does that game really end or can you play indefinitely?
  22. Fat and sugar aren't the same thing.
  23. Yeah, young kids tend to have a tenuous grasp of reality vs. fantasy anyway, so I imagine VR is beyond what their little brains can handle.
