Look at the results screen again: If you hit "Show Details" it pops down all that stuff at the bottom. That graph shows you what settings it was running at throughout the test. Mine was in the medium range for most of the test, with that hard drop to low in the middle. *Edit* - The thing with VR is that it can't tolerate frame drops, because they completely ruin the experience/make you sick, so your settings are always going to be bound by the most hardware intensive moments, even if they're brief, so you can be sure to maintain a constant 90 fps.

Oh, I'm not getting a PC VR headset anytime soon, I was just curious. I half expected my computer to burst into flames upon attempting the test. Kind of surprising to learn that upgrading my graphics card should be enough.
-
That actually wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. I'm kind of surprised my CPU is good enough.

They can't both run at 3.0 at the same time, no, because they're limited by the speed of the single connection to the computer they're sharing. Though with moving files specifically you might get better results because one of the drives will be downloading and one uploading. The point of a hub is the convenience of being able to plug things in without getting behind the computer, and also being able to plug things in at the same time. Most people probably aren't going to be using multiple things that require 3.0 speeds at the same time, and even when you are you're still going to get better speeds than if you had them connected with 2.0.

I find the clicky scroll mode find (I also don't like the smooth scrolling) and you can adjust the scroll speed to whatever you want.

I really like my Logitech G500. It doesn't have as many buttons as the Naga, but it has enough for my needs (I also have a Logitech keyboard with extra programmable buttons so that helps). Currently it's listed for $150 on Amazon though and I'm pretty sure I didn't pay anything even remotely approaching that much for it...

Teaser: I'm honestly not even sure if this is serious or not...

The difference with phones is that you can get a $600 phone for $100 with a 2 year contract, but there's no similar cost reduction method for VR.
-
Yeah, my hope is headset + camera + at least one Move for $400. Doubt it's gonna happen.
-
Yeah, I laugh, but it's only to cover up my tears. I really want VR to catch on, but if these are the prices we're looking at I worry it'll be killed completely for another 20 years.

The Vive's base package is going to be $800. (Granted it does come with motion controllers unlike the Oculus)

I'm not talking about the mission structure and whatnot in Destiny being better, I'm talking about the second-to-second experience of combat. If a shooter can't nail that then I'm not going to play it without friends insisting on it.
-
No, I live it the middle of nowhere and services like that never have servers close enough to keep the latency down to playable levels.
-
It's also possible it's a RAM issue, if there's a portion of the RAM that's bad it will cause a BSOD when it tries to use that part, and it can be seemingly random when it happens.
-
Yeah, those were pretty much my thoughts. Destiny can be fun solo because the combat is inherently fun, but the only way I'd play The Division is if I had a consistent group of people who I wanted to play with.

This specific medium might not, but given the density of storage it offers something based on related principles almost certainly will, unless something denser/cheaper is discovered first.
-
Certainly better than mine. Right now I'm just waiting for the next-gen Nvidia GPUs to drop, which will hopefully cause the prices of the 900 series to drop and let me snag a 980 Ti for a reasonable price.

Do desktop gamers consider laptop gamers part of the master race, or are they still a lower breed? How do they compare to console gamers?
-
Even if it's super slow now I'm sure it will improve, or something based off it will.

I am a consumer whore. Though I was able to hold out until they announced what the DLC would actually be, and the one I'm most interested in is coming out in May so that's not too horrible.
-
That is fucking genius!

They really need something like Steam has where you can assign a name to your friends independent of the name they set themselves. Alternately, everyone should just be like me and dean and use the same name everywhere.

Bring on Gravity Rush 2!
